Out of luck for AAA in April 08?

I have reservations at a Value Resort with our AAA discount. We've been going back and forth and finally decided to go to a Moderate. When I called today, the reservationist told me that the AAA rates are sold out at all of the moderate. Ugh! Do you think there's any chance of something opening up or do you think we are locked out? Last year we booked a AAA pkg in May and also booked a room only reservation for the night of our arrival (prior to our pkg. starting) but was not able to get a AAA rate for that one night. We did however keep calling back and eventually got AAA discount for that one night. AAA pkgs. have to be paid in full 45 days in advance so some people will cancel about that time if they're not sure they can make the trip so we called 44 days before the night we needed and was able to get the AAA rate then. With AAA room only reservations you can cancel up to 5 days out without a penalty so if you can't get a room at the 45 day mark, keep calling every few days after to see if someone with a room only has cancelled. We are in the same boat again this year with our May trip- got AAA rate for part of our stay but are going to keep calling back, hoping for AAA on the nights we couldn't get now. Oh, and we went ahead and booked the room anyways so we know we at least have it if AAA one doesn't come avail.

Have you tried going through AAA directly? You may be able to get a room that way.
When my brother and I stayed at the Allstar Music last year I called Disney for rooms in the preferred building and they did not have anything at the discounted rate. I went to AAA and was able to get 2 rooms in the preferred building with the AAA discount

Just keep calling CRO because people do cancel. Also, have them play around with your dates. Last year I got all but 1 night of my stay with the AAA rate.
