SLEEP!!! I forgot what this felt like! No seriously, it felt good to sleep like a rock!
I dont mind being in theme park mode, but it is nice to have a rest day. I rolled out of bed around 9:45am or so. We didnt really know what we wanted to do. My mom and Darrell were talking about either going back to Epcot for the day or going to the pool. Mike mentioned going over to the Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge to look around or over to the Boardwalk. I didnt really know what I wanted to do. Mike and I ended up getting into a little spat, he was being so ornery!
So I tell him Im going to the pool and he says fine, Im going over to the Boardwalk. So to be nice I decide to hop in the shower and get ready and go with him
.he comes back and says, Oh Im going to the pool. CAN YOU SAY MAD??
LOL So finally we just ended up at the pool, I still cant believe what a stinker he was that morning.
We made it down to Stormalong bay around 10:30 or so. There was barely anyone there! I had heard all these reports of it being slam packed but we could have chosen several areas to lounge! This was great! I was very impressed by the pool I just love it! With the slight current and lush greenery it made me want to be in the pool moreso than just a regular pool.
I hate water slides usually, they kind of freak me out. Mike and Darrell tried to get me to go on it, but I wouldnt! This lifeguard yelled over at me to basically get my rear up there because its not that bad, so I did. And he was right, it was a lot of fun! I rode it about
..10 times after that LOL Nice huh?
I could smell burgers from Hurricane Hannas and boy was I hungry! So was everyone else, so we grabbed a table near the grill and went up to order. I got chicken fingers and Mike got a burger with fries. My parents also got chicken fingers. It was really good food for counter service yum!
We had a major invasion of the birds while we were eating! They were everywhere. We had two ducks just begging for food
I was afraid theyd bite my legs or something! Finally when we were done Mike gave each of them a fry and they quacked many thanks.
We went and laid out after that for awhile and got back in the pool again, but it seemed colder
so we just went and laid out. And we saw the guy that used to be on the show New York Undercover
not sure if anyone remembers this show. But Im pretty sure it was him along with his wife and daughter.
After the pool we went back up to the room to get ready to go mini golfing. We headed over to the Swan and Dolphin area to get there. On the way we saw a wedding going on!!
This was of interest to me of course because we are getting married in October! It especially made me want to say forget the big hoopla, lets have a small fun one in FL. I was about this close
.weve just encountered some really crappy issues in the midst of the planning and a small FL wedding would make those issues go away LOL How convenient!
We made it over there and decided to do the Gardens course, mostly because I like my characters you know and I figured my mom would lose patience on the greens.
My parents were fighting anyways, so not a good day to experiment! This was a fun course for me colorful, musical and the theme was great! Since I had seen Fantasia too it was neat to see the different holes with the appropriate music!
I didnt do as well as I usually do, but I did get two hole in ones! Mike won of course and mom got last LOL
As we were leaving we saw that it was going to rain, and sure enough, it did.
We decided to wait for the boat under the canopy at the Dolphin because we would have been drenched otherwise. It came, we hopped on, and it was still raining by the time we got back to the pier at the YC. We headed over to Beaches and Cream for dinner since we had to use up our meal certificates. We waited about ten minutes for a table and then got seated. This place is really small! We looked over the menu
mom decided on a chicken sandwich, Darrell and Mike got burgers and I got a hot dog. Mike and I did not eat it all because we were getting the kitchen sink! We ordered it and Darrell used our meal ticket to order a hot fudge sundae. They did the little presentation that we were getting the kitchen sink and out it came. HOLY BUCKETS that sucker was huge!
I couldnt believe it. We ate, and ate, but we didnt even make a dent in the thing!
I finally gave up I can now say Ive tried it!
We headed back to the room. Mom and Darrell were ahead of us a bit in the hallway and Mike and I lagged behind. We turned the corner for the elevator and they werent there. I saw that the elevator was on 4 I couldnt believe they didnt wait for us at the elevator! I was like how rude! That is so unlike my mom! So we press the button and wait. Along comes a guy and we make conversation with him, and I even make a comment that my parents went up without us. The elevator came back down, the doors open and there are my parents .trying to act like they were making out in the elevator (they werent really).
Talk about embarrassed!!! The guy gave my mom the look of death! We were all laughing but I just could not believe they did that! I guess it was late so they didnt think anyone else would be waiting, but werent they wrong!
We headed back to our room to watch Illuminations and soak up the view for the last time.
I hate last nights on any vacation! They just stink!!!
We got some stuff ready for our departure the next day, and then went to bed.
Day Six to come!
