Departure Day July 8th 2006
Awoke as soon as the alarm went All washed and brushed up for taxi which was a couple
of min,s early. Only short journey to airport £4. Quickly found the Monarch desk was a couple
of people in front of us, so was quickly our turn. The lady that dealt with us was very nice. We had the 2 seats and
2 seats behind. (19 and 20)
Headed straight to McDonalds for breaky queue was quite long, spent about £10. Then went and sat and watched
the planes taking off. Boys had got the travel connect out while I did hol diary and read. Boys where getting bored
(even at there ages!) Just want to get going now. The time did go quick and we are now called to at 8.15 to gate
20. The room was full to capacity and could see everyone was so happy and excited. took a photo of 'our plane'
through the window. Seemed ages before they are calling people to plane but sure we where being impatient.
Don't know what time it is as have turned our phones of and have no watch. Finally in our seats not loads of room
but certainly not knees in mouth either and i am 5"8. Food was okay its plane food. continental breakfast and chicken
in sauce mash n veg. Sickly cheesecake for dinner but all eatable. Had to pay £1.50 for headphones film was ice age 2 also Simpson's and fools and horses and other stuff. I didn't really watch was trying to sleep and read.
Hooray landing time got through immigration quickly had filled green forms in right eventually (had to ask for 2 more on plane)
Waited a while for the last suitcase to come through and we are out.
Spotted the *********** sign had Michael for our driver he is such a nice gentleman. Boys where impressed with the
Black Lincoln sedan (not a car person myself) did like the leathers seats though. Curtis went straight round to the front
wrong side of course! Think we where to excited to notice the heat. Stopped off at Albertsons 2 crates of water 4 boxes cereals
couple of big bags of crisps 2 loafs milkshakes and the polystyrene cooler (great tip thanks) $50.50.
Off again did notice the heat on way back to car the aircon was very welcome in car. Michael chatted all the way to us.
Next stop Pop Century was immediately impressed. Michael again sorted out all our luggage a disney guy Lance took it and said would be sent to our room within the hour.
Checking in was quick no queues everything ok had 50s building 1 4th floor room 1465 followed the map easy to find where well chuffed overlooking the bowling pin pool. Room was virtually same as Newport Bay DLP.Boys filled the cooler.
The bags where bought up nearly straight away. I unpacked while the boys all dashed to the pool. Called them back up so
we could find the food court was very close (good) All picked a refillable mug each (such good value) pizza all round $69.Took hot chocolates back with us.
Boys wanted to go to a park as not tired. But had to say no so walked all the way round the resort everything looked so much bigger and better than the pictures I had seen. Back to room all got ready for bed and soon asleep. So much for ' we are not tired '
Animal kingdom here we come tomorrow.
