Our very first official trip fort wilderness over christmas 2013

Thanks for letting us tag along with you on your vacation. I bet the kids really enjoyed their adventures at the Fort and also those on the road. Glad to see you made it home safely. Your house is very pretty but I'm not sure I could handle all that white stuff. Will that be there till springtime? I bet all of your 4-legged kids were happy to see you. :yay::yay:
Believe it or not, last year we still had snow in June- and ice on fishing opener in May- pretty depressing... Hopefully this year it won't last so long! And yes indeed- the critters are all loving life again- they missed us! But maybe not as much as I missed them!

Time for a big sigh of relief, huh serenitygr? While the Fort is beautiful and a wonderful place to visit, there's no place like home.

You did a great job with the trip report. I have to admit that I find the live trip report (when I am doing one) a little addictive. In addition to the DIS folks I meet at the Fort (sounds like you met some - it takes some work but it's worth it), the folks that post into your trip report are special too. To me it's more special than when I just sit at home and reply like I am now. When I'm doing a live TR and someone responds directly with a question or comment, it's like they're there too.

Live trip reports take work but I now prefer doing mine that way rather than when I get home. My memory doesn't have to last as long. :rotfl:

I'll be heading down to the Fort in about two months and would like you and anyone else to drop a note and say hi when I get my live TR going. Until then, unpack the turd, wait for the spring thaw, and enjoy the memories.

Bama Ed
Bama Ed- that is so true about the trip reports- it was so much fun doing it- and yes- I know what you mean about addictive! I am right there with you on that! What a sigh of relief- it was funny- we had to turn around and get right back in her after being home an hour, so we could bring my mom and all her stuff home, and I REALLY didn't want to get back in. To make it easier I grabbed one of my little dogs and brought her with! If I had known the trouble we were going to have, I would've brought a couple of the dogs- that would've made things a little easier when they weren't going quite right- somehow dogs have a way of making things better. :)

It's always good to get home . . . :)

. . . but be honest with us . . .

. . . have you started planning the next trip?
All right CDNCruiser- you've got me! I must confess- we have talked about me riding down with Joe in his semi this summer- just the 2 of us- kind of a working trip for him, but taking a few days at the Fort to have fun. But right now, I'm not quite ready to leave home or even plan to leave- I have to get all my ducks in a row and get the dog business back to normal now. Too many people want puppies for me to take another vacation just yet.... And I don't want to plan any births if I won't be here..... But oh yes- I am planning.... And also thinking of summer of 2015- as soon as the kids get out of school- we may take a trip down.... Just a couple park days, and the rest of the time just swimming and relaxing at the Fort.... ::yes::
