Our very first Disney Cruise (Update: Post #38)

Are you ready for my next question?

Will you use that 50% off credit on a future cruise?

Glad that the issue has been resolved (although I still wish you'd had a better time!). Does your wife have any idea how she may have picked the virus up? Even with all of the sanitizer/wipes, I still brought my own and made my whole family clean their hands right before eating. I also used the wipes to handle the serving pieces when we went to Parrot Cay for breakfast (buffet) in the morning. Thank goodness nothing happened...I can't imagine how frustrating and upsetting that would be.

Bravo Mike!

DCL comes through for you, Now you gotta give them another chance>

Make some positive memories, after all whats the chances of it happening twice??:wizard:

We aren't sure if we will cruise again or not. The 50% credit is an incentive...

Awww come on. We overcame our first fiasco and we weren't even bribed with a 50% credit!;)

As a side note, on our last cruise I got the Norovirus the Monday before we left for our cruise (4 days later). I saw my little nieces and am pretty sure that is where I got it. 24 hours after seeing them I got all the classic symptoms (fever, vomit.......). When my husband got home from work I told him to get out of any room that I had been in. "Treat the entire area as a biohazard area until I am strong enough to sanitize it"! He complied and did not get sick. What a yucky sickness that is. For a few hours I was afraid I was going to die, then I hurt so bad I was afraid I wasn't going to die!:lmao:

I was better by Thursday and very grateful that our cruise was not affected by it.;)

I'm not sure why I said all that, but I guess I know how your wife felt, except I got to do it in the comfort of my own home.

I can't wait to hear about your plans for the next cruise!:yay:

I am so glad Disney responded to you. We've forked out for the insurance every time and I was very disappointed to think that it would not cover a stateroom arrest situation. I hope you do give DCL another chance. It is very hard to have fun when your loved one is

so sorry that your wife got sick. We had some friends that flew to florida, stayed in a hotel the night before a cruise, (not DCL) boarded the ship the next day and got sick the next morning. They also blamed cruising until they started back tracking their steps and found out that the hotel they stayed at the night before was having other sick guests making inquiries. I guess all I'm really trying to say is that this can happen on a plane, in a hotel setting or on a ship. For people to deny themselves something as lovely as cruising just seems rather sad to me.
