OUR UNI-VACATION and A TRIP TO THE BEACHES..ME Mrs. T & 4 LIL’ SNEECHES!

Our alarm was set for 2 AM to start on our uni-vacation….the kids woke us up at 1:30??? :bounce: No problems driving to the big O , the kids slept almost all the way, while the Mrs. & me alternated driving. We arrived at the Embassy suites at 5:00PM. The hotel was beautiful! It has a large triangle shaped open atrium with glass elevators, an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub! We got a suite to sleep 6 for 120.00 a night through AAA. The Embassy offers free drinks (beer & wine included) :drinking: and snacks ( fresh pop corn, peanuts & pretzels) from 5:30 to 7:00. The only disappointment was the hot tub was not working and scheduled for repair the next day…but we were checking out at early-o-clock and checking in to the Royal Pacific Resort for 2 nights!

Day 1, Monday

We had packed 1 night bags for our Embassy stay, so rolling out was no problem! The Embassy also offers a great free breakfast, including made to order omelets , bacon, sausage, pancakes and French toast! :goodvibes
10 minutes to RPR and easy check in . The rooms were even ready at 9:00. As we are a party of 6 we had to get 2 rooms at a AAA rate of about $200 per room a night! The RPR was BEAUTIFUL with all the running water and the tropical setting. We walked to the parks, a beautiful walk, retrieved our tickets from the electronic retrieval kiosk and were in IOA by 10:00. IOA looked wonderfully bright and clean! The park opened at 9 and seemed already crowded to me, but the express pass perks that come with the RPR stay made short work of the long lines!…Spider Man still ROCKS! After riding both Dragons we stoped for lunch at the Enchanted Oak. Now feeding a family of 6 can drain a wallet so here’s my feeding tips!

…………….Boinking VS Getting Boinked at Universal!………………

Paying $3 for a fountain soda that you can get for .79 at your local gas station means you got boinked!
Paying $8 for a hamburger some teenager pulls out of a vat of boiling water and slaps on a bun that came from a pack of 100 means…you got boinked!
Are you getting the picture!
ALSO buying each person said $8 meal and watching picky kids toss half of it away means you got DOUBLE BOINKED!
And if you watch closely those Uni-Employees will wink and nod they’re head in acknowledgement of said BOINKING! :smooth: …..so here’s how we roll!

At the Enchanted Oak, I purchased 3 rib & chicken meals, 1 kids mac & cheese & got extra plates. We got 2 souvenir refillable cups filled with different beverages and got several courtesy cups to fill with the soda. All with the understanding that if all was eaten and they were still hungry more would be purchased! With the AAA discount I fed 6 for under 40.00. :thumbsup2 That, my friends is how you Boink back!

……………………………….......................................................................

After lunch we did the shows in the Lost Continent then we started our love affair with the Dr. Sues, High in the Sky Trolley!! :goodvibes This ride brought back all those nights reading the kids to sleep with a Dr. Sues story and we could not get enough of this ride! We found out the ride sports 2 different tracks and there are 4 different story’s you can hear depending upon the trolly you ride…and we rode all of them!

We finished out IOA tour around 5:00, thanks to those express passes! ( In my opinion Monday was the most crowded of our days in the parks) We hopped a water taxi back to the resort for relaxation in that FABULOUS RPR pool! The water play area, HUGE pool with water volleyball, water basketball, @ hot tubs…We were in heaven! When I looked at the food menu I thought DANG I’m getting BOINKED! $$$$
SO.. I went to the room asked the front desk for a local pizza joint who delivers to the RPR and had $30 in pizza dropped off! We ate poolside and several people, with I’m gettin BOINKED looks on their faces, asked where I got the pizza. After that, I saw a steady barrage of pizza boxes poolside! :rotfl: We closed the pool down & slept soundly that, our 1st night!

Day 2, Tues

Breakfast bars, coffee and off to Universal Studios! We got to US round 10:00 and had no crowd problems! Having never rode The Mummy we quickly fell in love with it! The only detraction were those pesky lockers in which you MUST place all items! Those lockers turn normally functional adults into babbling morons  and getting through the isle is like trying to navigate Wal-Mart on a buy 1, get 1 free WWF tee shirt sale! :confused3 …no offense meant! After IOA, I think the kids were “un-impressed” with US. To my chagrin JAWS (My personal favorite movie of all time) seemed unimpressive and tired! The Mrs & Me sat out MIB due to the “locker MORON traffic jam“…seriously! Lockers for this ride??? We enjoyed Back to the Future, knowing the ride will soon be gone and our DS got to be part of the horror make-up show!
Done with US by 5:00 we ate at the Hard Rock. We had some Entertainment Meal Deal coupons and we shared appetizers and most meals. After dinner we had brought our swimsuit’s so re rolled to the Hard Rock pool. Although the music rocked..the pool didn’t! It was smaller, sandier (it has sand beaches), and the kids were disappointed it had no water volleyball. We stayed about 1 ½ hr then water taxied back to RPR’s pool and closed it down.

Day 3, Wed

Breakfast bars, coffee…we checked out of RPR, loaded our luggage in the van, left it parked @ RPR and hit the parks! We Rode & re-rode all our favorites in IOA, had lunch in circus Circus (using my non-boinking formula). Then we hopped to US and did the same (still using the room key express passes). Around 5:00 we went back to RPR, got our suits from the van & spent a few hrs at the pool. Then around 8 we rolled back to the Embassy for our final 2 nights!

Day 4 Thurs..A TRIP TO THE BEACHES..ME Mrs. T & 4 LIL’ SNEECHES!

GET UP! GET UP! It’s a bright sunny day! :sunny:
GET UP! Lil’ Sneeches it’s time to go play!
Full sneech bellies, strapped in the car
We vroomed to the beach..It’s not so, so far! :moped:
A quick stop at RON JON for our surfer dude sneech
Then hot sand on toes, we strode on the beach.
Surfer dude sneech rode high upon waves
while scardy-cat sneech searched for sharks in a daze.
Two teen girl sneeches tried to get separation
For checking out dude sneeches also on beach sneech vacation!
Kicked down sandcastles, sunburns and a jelly fish sting
Brought to an end our vacation sneech beach fling!
On that beach sneech short trip. Oh the wondrous, wonders we saw,
But all the day after the lady beach sneech walked funny…and complained of
Sand in their “craw”?? :sad2:
So my advice to vacationing beach sneeches, I suppose…
Don’t play with jellyfish and keep your “craws” closed!

Ps..
I asked Mrs sneetch “what, my dear, is a “craw”??? :confused3
She folded her arms, wouldn’t tell me, or show me…AT ALL!
I’ve puzzles for hours til I’ve burned out my noodle!
Do any of you know? …..Perhaps I should GOOGLE! :smooth:

………………………………............................................................
We returned from our “Beach Adventure” round 5...so we went for the evening to US. Parking was free for some reason! We caught he last FEAR FACTOR show. We also used our ummm…expired RPR room key express passes to hit a coupled rides! Please don’t flame me! After us closed we shopped & had Margaritas @ city walk!

Day 5, Friday

Last day of vacation! Up at 6:30 we hit that wonderful complimentary breakfast, then loaded the van and checked out. We parked in the uni-garage and opened IOA for a quick re-ride tour. Mrs. T & me let the lil’ ones do the wait for front row on both Dragons, while we went to re-ride the Sues Trolley several times! :cloud9: We then hopped to US, caught the Beetlejuice Graveyard Review, hit the mummy twice, rode ET (at the wife’s insistence). After a nice lunch we were on the rode by 2:30. All in all we had a wubulous vacation! The stay at RPR flat out MADE the vacation and the express pass ROCKED! :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading my report!
I’ll be glad to answer any questions!

:wave2:

Thanks for sharing, sounds like u had a great time :goodvibes

Very very cool report, love the poem. Sounds like ya'll had a great time, good tips too on not getting boinked on $$$$, me personally I just resign myself to the fact that I will get boinked when I go and just chalk that up to its all just part of the vacation.

AWESOME!!! I am interested in going to the other side July 2007 with my family of 6 also. I have never done Universal or any of the others,by the way what it IOA? lol!!! We would like to go for 12 nights, what do you think???? I loved your boinked story!!!! :cool1:

12 days at universal might be overkill! If you stay at one of the onsite hotels you can more than do every thing in 3 or 4 days, at both parks using your room key express. We got the 5 day ticket(you only pay for 2 days) and broke up the parks with "A day at the beaches" :goodvibes

:wave2:

Theres lockers for MIB because you can't store much in the ride and it spins a lot

Since you have a full 12 nights I would personally recommend staying onsite at Universal for about 4-5 days/nights, same with Disney, cept maybe an extra day or 2 there since they have more parks and a few days at Cocoa Beach, only about 45 minutes from Orlando, that is a perfect vacation in my opinion!!! Take me take me please!!!!!!!!!!!

IOA stands for Islands of Adventure. It's one of the 2 parks with the other being US (Universal Studios).
