Our UnFORGETtable summer trip! A June TR:Update 10/24 Animal Kingdom!

Are those yellow box flip flops that I spy on Miss Ellie's feet? Love those shoes!!

I'm so sorry that you forgot Ellie's book for autographs, poor little thing, I bet she was upset. But, I must bow down to Ben for saying that he wouldn't use his if Ellie couldn't - what a great boy you are raising! :worship: I'm not so sure either of my boys would have been as thoughtful.......

 About your forgotten unmentionables - at least you had a washer handy!

So pretty!

This is clearly FALSE advertising! The sky looked nothing like that we we arrived!!!

We arrived back at our villa. Here's our patio and the view of the golf course.
IMG_1096.jpg

Cute table. I would like one on my back patio. :)

I asked Ben if he was willing to forgo using his and he, bless his heart, said that there was no way he would use his without Ellie having hers. Somedays he does me proud!

What a great guy!

Bless Ben's heart! :goodvibes What a great brother. That was really sweet of him not to use his book since Ellie didn't have hers.

That's pretty funny about forgetting your............Well, you know. That's one thing NO ONE needs to see me walking around not wearing! :lmao:

Yumm, EoS is my favorite! I could go for an Italian sandwich right about now...
Poor Ellie, but that was just so sweet of Ben!
All I can say is thank goodness you had a washer and dryer haha! (and that you were going to Walmart later)

Hi, I'm here again! Hope I'm not too late. Time to catch up!

I'm with you...if I have a choice of any mode of Disney transportation, Ipick the boats everytime!

I don't know who I fee worse for you or Ellie:hug: I did laugh however at the lack of female undergarments:lmao:

What a lovely boat ride to DTD...so much better than the buses.:goodvibes
I can so feel for Ellie and not having her special book. Glad it all worked out though. Ben is a wonderful big brother.:cool2:
Had to laugh at your forgotten items. :lmao: At least you had a washer and dryer (and Wal-Mart). Ejoying the updates!

hey!! I'm a little late in joining in but I'm here!! Alrighty, going back to catch up!!

Wow!! Great pics of OKW! It looks beautiful!! Especially the pics of the river and the outdoors! Awww poor Ellie!! It’s ok…it looks like everything turned out ok. What a great brother he was!! Oh my!! That second thing you forgot was very important also! LOL! I guess all you can do it laugh and cry it off! Good thing Walmart is only up the street! LOL! This is a great start to your TR! Can’t wait to read more about your trip and see more wonderful pics!!

Good eye Michelle! Yes, those are yellow box flip flops. We both got our first pair this summer and we won't be without them again!

Ellie was quite upset. I told Ben I had no right to ask him to wait and he said he'd already decided. I tried to remember this later on the trip when his attitude was less than stellar.

So pretty!
This is clearly FALSE advertising! The sky looked nothing like that we we arrived!!! :rolleyes

What a great guy!

I know! The one rain storm we have and it is when you guys came. I felt so awful!

He was being great. Deep down in there I think he loves her.:lovestruc

Bless Ben's heart! :goodvibes What a great brother. That was really sweet of him not to use his book since Ellie didn't have hers.

That's pretty funny about forgetting your............Well, you know. That's one thing NO ONE needs to see me walking around not wearing! :lmao:

It was nice of him, I'll give him that.:goodvibes
Oh, there would have been NO walking around without one of those on I promise you that!!! I would have been in the car back to Wal-Mart if I didn't have any at all!:rotfl:

Yumm, EoS is my favorite! I could go for an Italian sandwich right about now...
Poor Ellie, but that was just so sweet of Ben!
All I can say is thank goodness you had a washer and dryer haha! (and that you were going to Walmart later)

I could eat EoS over and over again but we usually only go once a trip.
It was one of Ben's sweeter moments!
Yes, I wouldn't have made it without the washer...and a Wal-Mart trip!

Amen sister! I'm right there with ya, I don't even walk around my own house not wearing one!

I hear ya on that too!!

Hi, I'm here again! Hope I'm not too late. Time to catch up!

Hi Sarah! Thanks for joining in! It's never too late!

I'm with you...if I have a choice of any mode of Disney transportation, Ipick the boats everytime!

I don't know who I fee worse for you or Ellie:hug: I did laugh however at the lack of female undergarments:lmao:

I love Disney boats but this one ranks low simply because it takes so long to come and only goes to the west side. But, it was a nice start for our trip.:goodvibes

Oh, we should definitely feel worse for me! Later in the trip I could joke about it. That first night I was a mess!

The boat ride was great. I enjoyed getting to see parts of Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. Just wish it had gone to the Marketplace.
He was a fantastic big brother that night.:goodvibes
Yes, I told you guys you would laugh at me. I did eventually laugh at myself, just not that first night!

hey!! I'm a little late in joining in but I'm here!! Alrighty, going back to catch up!!

Hi Keala! Thanks for joining in!
OKW was beautiful!
You're right, everything did turn out ok in the end. The autograph book situation was solved and no tourists were hurt in my lack of undergarment mess...thank heavens for that close Wallly World!

sorry for all the packing troubles :(

but sounds like a great day in dtd!

Ya, it wasn"t one of my best packing jobs!
DTD was great! I love going there!

Your pictures from the boat dock at OKW were just beautiful!

That's too bad about the autograph book, but at least you knw you will be going back soon since you guys are DVC members. So lucky for you, there's always next time! :thumbsup2

Your unmentionables debacle sounds just like something I would do. However, I have gotten so used to having to accomodate for my horrible memory that it doesn't even get to me anymore. I would have just washed that thing in the sink each evening, hung it in the shower to dry overnight and kept right on going! ;) Good thing about those types of garments is that they are made of that fabric that dries really quickly! You had it even easier though with a washer and dryer in the room. So no harm done.............. don't beat yourself up. Most of us have momnesia!

Hey! Found your trip report from Michelle's (SoonerGirl) trip report! I read all of it so far & am now caught up! (This is a great accomplishment for me because I am sooo far behind on all of my other subs! lol)

Loved reading about your trip so far! I am now adding OKW to my list of resorts to visit! I was just thinking a few days ago that I should look into Saratoga Springs & Old Key West because those are 2 I know nothing about! I'm so glad to see pics now. I love the beachy theme of it & the fact that you can take the boat to DTD. I love using the boats at Disney!!! I know it takes a little longer than the buses, but the trip is more enjoyable to me!

Don't feel bad at all about forgetting things. It happens to the best of us!!! :lmao: I had to laugh at what you forgot...thank goodness for Walmart & good thing you had a car! This past trip I was sooo nervous about forgetting something because we weren't getting a rental car! I always write a packing list, then a list of everything I've packed, then a list of what I need to add to the suitcases at the last minute...and sometimes I have too many lists so I end up forgetting things anyway! :rotfl:

Poor little Ellie! I know, it completely breaks my heart when we're travelling & I forget one of my son's items. Luckily (so far) I've never forgotten anything that he would really miss having on the trip...and he's also only 2 so he probably won't notice anyway! That was sooo sweet of your son to say he wouldn't get autographs if she couldn't! What a great big brother!!!

I honestly wish I would've been on our trip around the same time as yours because I didn't end up using my son's autograph book. I made it myself & had it bound at Staples. I searched & searched for a family who needed a book...I wanted to give it to someone who would appreciate it & use it! :goodvibes Everytime we got in line to get pics with the characters, I looked at all the kids & parents hands to make sure they all had books! Would've loved to share some Disney magic! :wizard:

Can't wait to read more about your trip!!! If you want, stop by & read mine. The link is in my signature & I should be working on an update for later this week! (We were there June 8-17th).

OKW looks so beautiful! We have walked around there, but only in the evening. Your room is awesome!

You have a very sweet little man there - what a very good older brother! I was thinking about picking up that same book as an autograph book for our upcoming trip.

And forgetting your....:rolleyes1 Oh man! :rotfl: Of all things why did it have to be THAT?! But like you said, at least you had a washer and dryer! :thumbsup2 Now, did you forget anything else??? :goodvibes

Thanks for the encouragement...momnesia...I love it!! I did wash it in the sink the first night because I didn't want to waste water but was saved after the fact with the washer and a quick trip to Wal-Mart!

I think, in a way, the autograph book has worked out for the best because I was able to order another one for next summer. My niece is going with us so all 3 of them will have the book then.

The area around the water and well, really everywhere, at OKW was so pretty.

Hi there! Thanks so much for coming over and joining in! I'll head over to yours soon. I know what you mean about keeping up with subs...I'm so busy right now and school is starting soon so I'll be even further behind. Just know that I might be reading but not always posting!:goodvibes

You were too sweet to look for a family to share your autograph book with! This was the first year I haven't made my kids an autograph book. We're going to get stockings signed at Christmas and they'll use the big book next summer. After that, I don't know if we'll get many more autographs.

Thanks about Ben.:goodvibes He really is a good kid and most of the time is kind to his sister.;)
I would recommend that book for autographs. It doesn't have every single character but it has a lot of them. abc distributing has the best price on it!
Ya, WHY did I have to forget THOSE???:rotfl: That was what I kept thinking! It worked out fine but at the moment I had just had enough!
I did forget a few more things but nothing else major. Mostly we'd forget stuff we wanted in the room like pins or glow sticks. It seems like all week one of us would say "oh, I forgot..." It was definitely our theme for the trip!

Day 1 Thursday June 24th Magic Kingdom

I roused everyone bright and early for our first full day! We always go to Magic Kingdom on our first park day and they were having EMH this morning. John and I had discussed whether we were going to drive (since you have to park at the TTC) or ride the bus for MK. We decided to drive and so we headed out about 7:10. We got a sweet spot in the parking lot right up front and walked over to catch the monorail.
This guy welcomes you as you walk over.
IMG_1107.jpg

We had to wait a few minutes for the monorail and then headed to the park. Got in no problem and got a great spot for watching the opening show!
IMG_1108.jpg

We had a bit of a wait now since we were so early but it was worth it. Then the show began. I'm such a sap and get teary at this one. I think it's not only because I am at the MK but also because it's our first day and I just love being there. I know I don't have to explain it here on the DIS!
IMG_1109.jpg

The kids and I did the Dumbo dash...well, we headed there. I don't run or knock people over like others! Ben, surprisingly, wanted to ride with us. I think it's because he's older now and realizes what it's all about...Anyways, I was glad he wanted to ride!

Here are my Fantasyland construction photos!

John went to grab Peter Pan FP's and then waited for us at Dumbo. He was back before we even got on. After Dumbo we went to Winnie the Pooh-love that ride. Then we hopped on the Carousel and went and used our Peter Pan FP's.
Next we were off to Tomorrowland to fight the evil Emperor Zurg.
IMG_1121.jpg

IMG_0673.jpg

I love Buzz but I am not good at it at all!
Then John and Ben went to ride Space Mountain. I wanted to ride but Ellie wasn't up for it.
IMG_3134.jpg

She and I hit the TTA PeopleMover.

IMG_0680.jpg

My mom used to always roll her hair and then use one of those whole head hair dryers so I took this in her honor!
IMG_0681.jpg

While we were riding I noticed Chip and Dale in their future attire so when we exited we headed over there to see them.

Con't...

Ellie and I browsed in some shops waiting for John and Ben. They came along and we headed to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. Love this show! I love how interactive they can be now.
Next we headed to the tea cups. John went to get FP's for Splash while the kids and I rode. This ride has never made me sick before but Ben can spin so fast now that I had to ask him to stop for a minute or two.
IMG_0672.jpg

The kids and I then headed to Toon Town via the back path. They hopped right on Goofy's barnstormer and then we went in Minnie's house. They love looking for Hidden Mickey's in there.
IMG_0683.jpg

IMG_0684.jpg

John met up with us then and we toured Mickey's house together. I'm sorry I don't have many pictures. It was hot and I guess I felt like I'd taken them all before. Not very Trip reporty, I know!
We had some time before lunch so we popped back over to Tomorrowland so John and Ben could ride the TTA with us. They hadn't ridden at all on Spring Break. Then we went to CoP. We were the only ones in our ride!
Now, when we'd gotten off TTA I had slipped on the little moving walkway. I didn't fall but had pulled something trying to keep myself from falling. So, at this point, I am hobbling. We decided to just head towards Main Street and wait for lunch. We only had about 10 minutes anyways. We got checked in and had a seat to wait. We were eating here:
IMG_0686.jpg

We got seated very soon and got our drinks. We were so hot. It felt good to just sit and get a really cold drink. I took some Motrin too. Our food came pretty quickly. Ben and I got burgers which were good. Ellie got a grilled cheese that was delish. John got the meatloaf special. It was pretty good and my goodness, it was a huge portion! Ellie got the sundae they do with the cone and Mickey ears. She loved that. I was bad about food pictures this time too!
After lunch, we headed to the other side of the park for a bit. First up was Hall of Presidents. It was having soft openings last summer after its refurb and we didn't get to go. We all really enjoyed it. Not something I'd do every single trip but definitely worth it.
IMG_1122.jpg

John went to grab BTMRR FP's while the kids and I browsed a bit. Then we hit up HM. John and Ben then went to use their FP's while Ellie and I shopped.
IMG_1124.jpg

IMG_1126.jpg

IMG_1128.jpg

IMG_1127.jpg

Oh, Ellie and I also walked over to see Tiana. The line was closed again...boo! So, when we met back up with John and Ben I took Ben to ride Splash and John took Ellie back over for Tiana's next greet time.

IMG_1130.jpg

IMG_1129.jpg

I attempted a top of the hill picture. But, I used my small camera and not my DSLR!
IMG_1142.jpg

The ride was great and it felt good to get a little wet. I called John and was surprised that they were there waiting for us. The Tiana line had been closed when they got there-5 minutes after it opened! We were planning on leaving for now so I told Ellie that we'd make Tiana a priority for our next MK day and she was fine with that.

We headed to the front and took the monorail back to the TTC. We hopped in our car and headed back to OKW for some rest and pool time!
