Our 4 night 5 day trip, staying at the Disneys Grand Californian in a three bedroom Grand Villa. Sunday through Thursday.
Since our check in is on Sunday the one thing that is known to all those who live in Las Vegas and Henderson is you never want to drive to California on a Sunday. Thats the day all visitors from California that spend the weekend in Las Vegas are driving back home. Monday if a holiday falls on that day. What is usually a 4 plus hour drive can turn into a 6-8+ hour drive due to all the traffic on 15 to California and if there is a fender bender you might as well camp out. So My wife and I decide to leave on Saturday and stay in New Port beach for Saturday night. Our Grand son, our Grand Daughter in law and our Great Grandson agreed so they too did the same, along with our Daughter and Son in Law. We all took separate cars. Most Vegas locals do not go out on the strip, we do not drive down Las Vegas Blvd nor do we drive on 15 to California anytime on Sunday or Monday if its a Monday holiday. We met at a New Port Beach hotel, after we checked in we walked across the street to a Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Meal was great. After dinner we all walked over to the beach which is only a few yards away and then went back across the street to our hotel. Before going up to the room we took a walk over to the bay which was on the same block as our hotel to watch the boats go by. Soon it was time to get some sleep. More to come…..
