Glad to see you finally got sewing missy! Everything looks great! I plan to try to sew some things for our trip. I made need some guidance!

Love the tantrum photos of Ash! So glad to know that I do not have the only almost 6 year old DD that still does that stuff! I will have to take photos of Jordan during her next one so I can show her how silly she looks.

I am thinking about starting a PTR for our trip (I've never done one) and so I can include info about Magic Meets this weekend. If I do, make sure you visit!

Still sewing...

When I was trying to figure out what to make for AK, I decided to do something different. I had gotten bored of doing animal prints but what else do you do for AK? My friend Stacy (sohappy) suggested that I think of Aisling's favorite attractions for inspiration. So I did! And I thought of FOTLK and all the bright colors! Then I decided that I wanted to try to do an applique of the simba drawing Rafiki makes in the movie....

Here is what I came up with...

The other big news is that we think we might add another day to the trip...meaning that Aisling will be missing 3 full days of school. Probably not the most responsible decision but turns out that the rules around attendance are only for grades 1 and up at Aisling's school since K is not mandatory in Mass.

SOOOO I tried to call and add another day but of course Disney's computers are down today. So I will keep you posted!

If we add the other day, the plan would be to:

Fly in Thursday- switch Chef Mickey's to Thursday (as of tonight- they still had ADRs available but I don't want to switch until my resort ressies are made)

Friday- go to DHS (since we were going to miss in entirely on this trip) and make a dinner ADR for Sci-Fi

Rest of the week would be the same.

I love the dress. I love the fact that you did something different from the usual animal print Mickey Head. Very Creative!

I am taking my kids out of school this year too. Thankfully Ethan is in Kindergarten and I am not worried about it. I am worried about what Abby's teacher will say. She is an excellent student and I am not worried about her, but I am concerned that the school will be difficult to deal with. She is in third grade this year. We haven't told the teacher yet.

Aisling's school is super strict (private Catholic school). The principal was a teacher when I was a student there and I'm still scared of that woman I did tell the vice principal that she was going to miss a couple of days in October but her teacher doesn't know yet.

She's going to miss 3 full days and be dismissed early another day. That's not THAT bad right????

Super Strict? Yikes. But since she is in Kindergarten I wouldn't worry about it. Do you know any of the other parents you could ask? What does her teacher say?

My Daughter went to a Catholic School for 1st and 2nd Grade. We really loved the school but couldn't afford it for both kids. Now that I lost my job we really couldn't afford it. She missed 5 days last year unexcused, two for our trip to my brother's wedding and 3 for a trip to Disney. Her grades didn't suffer at all and the school didn't seem to mind. They did count as unexcused absences though. Here in Georgia if they have 10 or more days of unexcused absences then the school will contact Department of Family and Children's Services. That is the part that scares me.

Aisling update

We did have a brief sleep walking incident last night. However, not night terror so that's an improvement. My mom said she got up and when my mom told her to go back to bed, she immediately did. So definately not as bad.

Nope...I was happy with the plan to add a day. Since it's still a shorter trip (6 days...not a full week ) we probably won't be in our room much or hanging out at the hotel so I'm okay with POP. Aisling loves it there and this is supposed to be about her
