Wow, September already. This month our Great Grandson celebrates his 2nd birthday. So to honor this celebration we are sending his parents (our Grandson, Granddaughter in Law and our Great Grandson) and our daughter (our grandsons mother-Nana to the baby)to Disneyland for a 3 night 4 day trip and staying at Disneys Paradise Pier, the newest addition to the Disney hotel resorts. When our Great Grandson was 18 months we all took him to Disneyland for 5 days and he still talks about meeting Mouse and friends. So what better way to celebrate his birthday.

Since we live in Henderson the town connected to Las Vegas it is only a 4 hour drive, alot easier with a baby and all the gear. This just makes a better choice than to board a plane to Disneyworld which we all will be doing in the near future.

Anyway, my wife made all the reservations to the restaurants and other activities along with the last day which is the babys actual birthday, breakfast at Goofys Kitchen. Little do they know my wife and I are flying into California and driving over to the restaurant to suprise everyone and be a part of his birthday celebration. Afterwards we can all go over to one of the parks for a few hours of fun before we hop in the car and drive back to the airport and fly home. Its just a quick flight so its no big deal. We are looking forward to getting lots of pictures sent to us through out their trip. I will let you know how the suprise goes.

Daddy and son (our grandson and great grandson) at Paradise Pier enjoying some together time before retiring for the night. Busy day tomorrow. Up early, breakfast and then rope drop. We will be flying in to suprise them mid week. Nana (son and grandson) is flying in tonight.

So sweet. I'm also impressed that your grandson was able to fit in that chair!

Yesterday they made rope drop and by 11 they already had 5 rides under their belt. It was getting too hot and it also was nap time for the baby, need I say he had so much fun. They went back to the room and all three took a nap. Meanwhile we met our daughter (Nana) at a restaurant for breakfast. Gave her some things to bring with her when she flys out later in the afternoon to join them. The rest of the day it was back at the park and lots more rides. He loved Buz Lightyear. But his favorite was haunted mansion. When they stopped at a disney store in the park he wanted a oggy buggy stuffed animal so they got it for him. Nana arrived at the Hotel at 7pm and met up with them for dinner. Today grandmom (granddaughter in laws mom and sister) and Auntie O drove in from Vegas to spend the day at the parks with them. While so far today they were up at rope drop and ready to go again. Tomorrow morning my wife and I will be at the airport for a 6am flight out to CA.

I love that his favorite is Haunted Mansion! Of course, he wanted and got the stuffed animal...sounds like a great and fun trip so far!

So tomorrow is a birthday celebration at Disneyland on our Great Grandsons actual birthday. Next week Nana (our daughter) is throwing a pool party at her home for all sides of the family and all friends. I have (as always) been elected to make his birthday cake. This year I chose Mickey Mouse. Last year was Dinosaurs. below is the a picture of the cake I will be making for his pool party next week.

For his first birthday I made his cake and my Grand Daughter in law told me I also have to make him a smash cake. Had no idea what that was but after reading all about it I figured I would try my hand at it. I will show you the picture of the actual cakes I made but I have to let you know I am not a professional, this is self taught and I only make cakes for the family. All of them.
