I need to finish up our last day and a half of our trip report before I forget everything!

Our family:
Me - Nicole (30)
DH - Mike (34)
DS - Alex (8)
DD - Addison (6)

After another early start, we decided to head back to IOA and go to USF later since the shows all seemed to start after 12:00. It was my turn to ride the Hulk with my son and I loved it just as much and my DH did! Next, my DH and DS rode Spiderman while I shopped for some souveniers with my DD. Next we headed over to Jurassic Park and rode my DD's favorite ride - JP River Adventure. After we got off, there was a hair wrap station right there and I talked my DD into getting one. She was afraid it would take too long and she's not one for sitting still for very long! Afterwards though, she was really glad she got it, she thought she was too cool and all the kids back at school loved it. Her hair is a little past shoulder length and she picked out a couple beads to put in it and it cost about $18. While we were getting that done, my DH and DS went to ride Dueling Dragons again, this time Fire. My DH liked Fire better, but my DS said Ice was his favorite. My DS also had to buy a big $20 Ice Dragon at the gift shop while he was there. It was nice to have that sent back to our room and not carry it around all day! It was getting close to lunch time and I told my DH that we had to eat at Mythos. We got right in at 11:30 and the restaurant was mainly empty since it has just opened. I had the risotto of the day (mushroom with beef tenderloin and shrimp), it was excellent and was way too much food for me too eat. My DH had the wrap of the day (veal parmesan) and said it was very, very good also. My DD had the chicken nuggets and I don't remember what my DS had. They both liked what they had though and we all loved the atmosphere! I was too full for dessert even though I really wanted to try the banana/chocolate cake that everyone raves about!

After lunch, we headed over to USF. The kids wanted to ride Jimmy Neutron again so we did that first. We had just enough time to catch the Horror Make-up Show before it started so we ran over there. My DD freaked out a little during this (when the monster-thingy came to life) so I felt kind of bad for taking her in there. She was fine though after we rode ET and Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster. We hadn't been to T2:3D yet but I was afraid it would scare the kids. I talked to them and told them they didn't have to see if if they didn't want to but they were OK. My DH and I really liked it! On our way over there we ran into Chucky from Rugrats and Scooby & Shaggy with no line! :D We did some more souvenier shopping and then the kids were complaining about being tired of walking so we decided to head back to the resort via the water taxi. We ate at Jakes again for dinner. I had the salmon pasta (very good), my DH had the fish & chips (looked good) and my kids had mac & cheese (again). I also had 2 Jack & Cokes so I wasn't feeling too bad about having to leave the next day! :D

Also, I got my sound machine delivered so I slept fine this night.

Great report Nicole. Question for you: Now when you say the fish and chips looked good, is that it or did your husband enjoy them as well. I ask, because I love fish and chips and may try it on an upcoming trip.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Spidey!

I didn't try the fish & chips but they looked good and my DH said they were. I'm not sure how much of a fish & chips expert he is, but he gets them quite a bit so he probably does have something to base that opinion on :D

I enjoyed reading your reports! I am wondering what a sound machine is exactly and how do you get one? I always have a horrible time sleeping in hotels and if possible take a fan with me for white noise..but not possible on a Universal trip.. plane ride and all that. Thanks.

tdelano - A sound machine sounds like just what you need! The one Star Services brought me was really nice. It had about 7 different background noices you could choose from - like white noise, ocean, rain, etc. with 7 more noices you could add to that if you want, such as crashing waves with the ocean, thunderstorm with the rain and stuff like that. It was really cool and definitely helped mask the noise from people in the hallways.

If you want one, just call Star Services on your hotel phone and ask them to bring one up to your room. It's free of charge, I just tipped the person who brought it to me.

Enjoy your trip!

Nicole, Great trip report! We did alot of the same things. My DS (15) and DD (13) talked me into riding the Hulk and I'm glad they did. It was so much fun. I kinda freeked out when I thought the ride was over and was hurled me upside down again. I screamed so much I lost my voice ( my kids loved that!). We also ate at Mythos and I had the same meal that you had. Not only was it excellent tasting the presentation was so beautiful that I had to take a picture of the plate. My DH also had the "wrap of the day" but it was a bbq chicken wrap and also very good. My DDs both had the kids pizza and I dont think my DS ever ate anything other then chicken nuggets. His all time favorite being the Jimmy Tendrix at the Hard Rock Cafe. I was sooo full but I couldn't leave without trying a piece of that gooey chocolate cake and let me tell you if you like chocolate you have to take another trip back and have this cake! After this meal we could hardly walk so we decided to take in some shows at universal We went to the Horror Makeup Show and my DD(8) is still checking for that monster under her bed! ( he just had to pick her out of the audience and tell her that ) The most embarassing moment of our trip was when I lost my shoe. Now you would expect people to lose their shoes on the Hulk, DD or maybe even the flyers but I lost my shoe on get this ET! I'm still getting razzed about it. I somehow lost my footing when the jeep popped out and off it went. It only took them a few minutes to get my shoe but I felt like a moron standing there with one shoe and my family in hasterics:teeth: . Note to self next year tennis shoes! Thanks for the tip on the sound machine. I'll have to try that next time.

Spidey, If you like fish and chips you have to try them at Finnigans. They are the best We've ever had! I think it's something in the batter. We also had this battered onion thingy that was impossible to finish but very good.

paulakim - I'm glad I wasn't the only one freaked out by getting on the Hulk! :D But I figured if my 8 year-old could ride it, so could I! lol!

That is too funny about losing your shoe! I would have been pretty embarrassed too. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

:D
