Our resort (POR) "hijacked" a POFQ bus after Wishes this past Wednesday.

It was ridiculous...we showed up at the bus stop (10pm) an hour after the park closed (9pm), and the line was still wound through not one, but TWO turnstile holding areas (4 & 5) and people were still coming. We stood there for 30 minutes and watched 6 EMPTY Wilderness Lodge buses come and go. When a POFQ bus showed up, and sat empty for 5minutes a group of about 30 of us in the POR line decided that we were TIRED of waiting (in the last 20 minutes of or wait they had filled SIX buses for our resort alone, and both holding areas were STILL full) so we jumped on the POFQ bus and then asked the driver if he could radio to dispatch to clear us to be delivered to POR instead. He did, and dispatch said to drop off any POFQ riders first and then do the POR loop.

Everyone in the line that had stayed at POR in the past said that this week was the WORST they had experienced in regards to having enough busing. Almost every morning we were met with people who had waited through 2 if not 3 full buses before they could get on one to the park they were going to.

oh good grief..thats so awful. Mind you the MK bus line for POR is often lining up through two stops. We always catch the POFQ bus on the other side and just walk back from there to Riverside when this happens. If you have children then off course this may not be the best thing to do last thing at night. We have been to POR lots and it does vary what the bus service is like. We have had problems like you have had but also times when it gone absolutely perfectly for the whole three weeks. You hit the unlucky time and I do think they need to sort the issues out! Hope you enjoyed yourselves despite the problems.:)

They were sending a bus every 3.33 minutes on average, and they still couldn't keep up? Did everyone at POR decide to leave the Magic Kingdom at the same exact time or something? Good Grief! I've stayed at POR many times and have never run into that! Sounds crazy!

Yes, I'm not really sure one can blame WDW transportation for this - even if they had sent more buses, could they really have actually filled more than one bus every 3.33 minutes?

had the same experience in September with the crazy lines for the POR buses, we always jumped in the POFQ line and walked back. I know exactly what you're talking about, the line goes through both queues and then up the middle. Terrible.

It sounds crazy but they were actually filling TWO buses at a time. They'd have them parked right next to each other, and they'd fill two, the controller would stop the line, and then both buses would leave. Then within 5-10 minutes, another two buses would come in and do the exact same thing.

I mean I know it's a huge resort, and with a hard close like that you do expect a BIG crowd...but at that point it was already an hour past park close, you'd have thought that the controllers standing there could see that Wilderness Lodge didn't need the 6 empty buses that came, rolled in, sat, and left when POR and POP *did*.

That was the only night that it was REALLY bad...the rest of the time I didn't think it was too bad...but at that point, when my kids were so ready to be done, and it looked like we were going to stand around for over an hour waiting for a bus, it was just too much.
