Today we had PS at Chef Mickeys for 8:45. Since we were doing so good getting up and out early, we decided to make our move before breakfast. So we got ready, packed up the car, and left ASMO by 7:10. We got to the Polynesian and checked in all by 7:45. As happy as I was with ASMO, I absolutely LOVE the Polynesian. It is my favorite place on WDW property. Anyway, our room wasnt ready, so we locked up the car and hopped the monorail to the Contemporary. We got to ride up front, except DH(we elected him to sit out since he had ridden in front with the kids on another trip). That was a neat experience. I just wished Colton didnt pick then to have a temper tantrum(maybe thats why we didnt get lisences?).
We arrived at the Contemporary around 8:15, took a bathroom break and let the kids watch the toy train and monorail that they had set up, to kill time. We checked in at Chef Mickeys at 8:30, got our picture taken, and were told to wait until our table was ready. As soon as we left the picture area, Goofy came over to us and gave Colton a banana (one of those too cute! moments). While I was trying to take a picture, we were told our table was ready when we were done with Goofy. Breakfast was great, as usual. This is DHs favorite part of every trip (he is a breakfast person). The characters were constantly at our table, and we got a lot of great pictures.
When we finally couldnt eat anymore, it was off to MK, and we entered the gates at 10:00am. I found today to be more crowded than we had seen all week. We rode Alladin 2x (with a 5 minute wait), Jungle Cruise, and Thunder Mountain . I got to do this 2x since we did the baby swap. Next it was on to Haunted Mansion with a 15 min wait. I still cant get Cameron on this one. Now to finish off Camerons quest it was back to Buzz Lightyear. Although the wait was posted 15 min, we only waited about 7. We did it 2x so that Cam could reach his goal of 4 rides on Buzz Lightyear. By now DM had enough of us(LOL) and she took off shopping. Next we were going to try out the Diamond Horseshoe Revue, but when we got there it looked pretty full, and we werent hungry so we skipped it. DH had remembered from when he was a kid that he liked the Swiss Family Tree House, so we did that thinking the kids would like it. While I wasnt thrilled, the kids (well, Cameron at least) wanted to do it again. So the boys did that again, and I took DM's idea and went off shopping too. Later we all met up in the Emporium. The boys went to get ice cream, while DM and I finished up and grabbed a space for the new MK parade. We watched this and really enjoyed it. I dont know if it was having the castle right in the background, or the parade itself, but it just seemed very magical to me.
After the parade we took the monorail back to the Polynesian, arriving at 4:00. We got our leis in the lobby, and then went to our room. We were on the first floor in Raratonga. We could see the monorail from our room. Even Cameron was excited about this place (maybe hes been listening to me too much?). The room was gorgeous (no smell), the grounds were gorgeous, we even had ducks outside on our patio. Did I mention I love it here? We got settled in and try to come up with a plan since this was the one night I sort of didnt have a plan for. We decided we wanted to eat at the Kona at 8:00. We called for PS and were able to get it at 8:10. So by 5:00, we were off to the volcano pool. The view from the pool/beach area is breathtaking. Just seeing that castle beyond the water gave me chills. The kids loved the pool, and with the entry the way it is, it was very convenient for little ones. Its almost like a wading pool at the beginning. At 6:00 DM & I went to the lobby to catch the torch lighting ceremony. We couldnt get the kids out of the pool for that, but I videotaped it. It was pretty cool to see that. Then I went back to the room to get ready and soon everyone else followed. We were in the GCH by 7:45 so we did some shopping there. We checked in at the Kona around 8:00 and were seated immediately. The Kona is now my favorite restaurant in WDW(or anywhere for that matter). Everything was wonderful! At about 8:50 we were done (we eat fast) and the waiter came to see if we wanted anything else. DH suggested another drink, but I looked at my watch and said , no we might make it to the Electrical Water Pageant. When we booked our PS, I thought for sure we would miss the EWP, but we did great on time. When the waiter heard this, he was very prompt in getting us our check. We made it to the beach right at 9:00 when EWP began. That was another nice thing to see, especially with the castle in the background changing colors. It is just so beautiful there. Then to end our vacation, we went up to the Tambu Lounge for one last drink. DH & I had spent the last night of our honeymoon there during a hurricane (6+ yrs ago), so it always has special memories for me. Just sitting there, sipping a tropical frozen drink and watching the castle change colors cant be beat.
