We are a family of 6.
Grandma (me) and Grandpa
Son and Daughter in law (healthy eaters)
Daughter and grandson (age 6)

Our thoughts on 'Ohana:
Pineapple Bread- oh so yummy, sweet, tasty, wonderful

Salad- we had to ask for seconds and kept it through the meal- loved the dressing! Wish I had some today.

Noodles-very good, enjoyed by all
Brocolli-good, but DH would have liked it cooked more- he's not an al dente guy

Skewers
Shrimp- outstanding- we lost track of how many DH had
Beef- so tasty, DH would have liked his cooked less, it was well done
Pork-a little dry
Turkey- good
overall, everyone enjoyed the skewers but thought the meats were all a little overdone, thoush tasty

Dessert- oh my! even our healthy eaters could not resist, and we practically licked the plate. What a great ending to a most enjoyable meal.

Our waiter Pedro was great, always available if we wanted anything, kept the food flowing.
If anything, I felt the food came a little too quickly, with no down time in between anything served. But, that's better than waiting too long.

We had a great table towards the back wall so it was a little quieter, but we could see the action and our dgs did go and participate in the kids activities. There was a man leading the kids activities and he did a good job and was not invasive to the adult diners.

My one complaint- the wine prices. I got a glass of Cabernet and it was $12. I dont know why it was so expensive. A glass of Sangria was $7.50 and a glass of Pinot grigio was $10. Way overpriced in my opinion. I'm glad I only had one.

Final vote- we would all go back!

Thank you for the review!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Can't wait for when we visit in May!!!

Thanks for the review - another place we still haven't tried.

Thanks so much for the review. We can't wait until we eat there in June. I just hope my ds enjoys the activities. He can be kinda shy.

Thanks for the review! Makes me want to go back! I really loved the bread and salad too!!

Thanks for the review - we're going to try it for the first time in June. We arrive on Friday afternoon and thought we'd go to 'Ohana for dinner so we'll feel like we're in the "World".

I can't wait now that I've read your descriptions.

Just back from a week at the Poly and thought I would add my thoughts on Ohana. The meal was so good we added a second night. So 2 dinners later I am happy to report we really enjoyed Ohana! The pineapple bread was yummy, the salad was yummy, noodles very good, meats were all good but as noted above the pork was a bit too dry for me. The pork fried dumplings were excellent. I don't eat shrimp but DH thought they were great!
DH also had the ice cream and bread pudding which he liked. I can't eat ice cream so the chef made me a nice dessert of chocolate soy ice cream and delicious lace cookies and strawberries. Our waiter Carlos was very attentive and was always available with seconds of everything. We went to dinner early (5pm the first time and 6pm the second time). The noise level wasn't bad but it did start to increase as the time got later and the restaurant started to fill up. By that time we were ready to leave. We were very hesitant about going to Ohana because of the negative reviews but I don't have anything but positives to say for our experience there. Go and enjoy!!
Oh and we really enjoyed the Kona cafe as well.

We go back evey year. it is one of the restaurants that all our family enjoys and loves eveything. We love it! less than 7 days till our trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goofy::mickeyjum:figment::stitch::donald::tigger:

Thanks for the review. We love it there. LOL - funny you should mention wine prices. My dh got 2 glasses of cognac and it ended up being about $20 total! I told him never again!! :rotfl:

This is definitely on my list of must-do's in September. I can't wait for it after hearing everyone's opinions on how good it was. Thank goodness our group are well-done kind of people...

Thanks for the review. DH and I ate at 'Ohana in 2006 and I hope to get back there on our next trip. We love Kona Cafe too but I thought maybe we would change up! :)

Do they still serve chicken wings though? My DH loved those in 2006 though I know the menu has varied since then.

Yes, when I wrote my review I forgot the chicken wings and the pork dumpling things ( I dont know what they are really called)

I knew we had lots of food coming, and wings aren't my fav, so I passed on them, but they got great reviews at our table as did the "dumplings". There were none sent back.:lmao:
