As most know, we have been planning our October trip to the fort for well over a year...and it was AWESOME!

We rented a fifth wheel rv from Tinah159 at www.CampAtTheFort.com, and..well....we couldnt have asked for a better accomodation!!! Im so glad I did this, it really gave me a hands on experience as to what owning a large camper would be like, and the opportunity to genuinely decide on wether or not I would like to buy one.

This thing was HUGE, and stocked with EVERYTHING we could have ever needed from video gaming systems, surround sounds, tons of Disney DVDs, board games, bicycles, camp chairs, every cooking utensil you could dream of, dining ware, tons of thick plush towels,.....I could go on and on and never reach the end of the list of things that this RV came equipped with. LITERALLY everything you "JUST MIGHT NEED"...even spices for cooking, and those "Mister Fans" that you need so much during the hot months of playing in the 90 degree heat of the parks!!!! (Tina...I accidentally took your floaties home in the glove box of my golf cart, Im SO sorry!!!)

Our arrival:

Well, thats what we saw upon driving up....very nice, looks like its going to be a great week living in the lap of luxury. Lets get inside and have a look around, shall we? We shall........upon entering....the smell was fresh and clean, and it was COOOLD...BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!

The first thing I see upon walking in is a box of Disney chocolates welcoming us to the camper, and 2 Mickey Mugs that Disney4Dan sent to us for making signs for his cruise......THANK YOU Disney4Dan!!!

OK...lets get nosey...lets poke around and see whats going on in here...this is the first time Ive ever had full run of a real camper. Ive peeked in on a feww at Camping World here and there...but Ive never had the oportunity to really check pne out....what was I impressed by the most?

RV toilets are the COOLEST!!!!! You step on the foot peg and this gaping hole opens up and DROP...its GONE!!!!! It just falls right out!!!! I dont think its possible to clog one of these toilets!!!!!!Then, if you step on the peg half way the bowl fills back up with water....this entertained me for AT LEAST 5-10 minutes. Ok, let me get my mind out of the toilet, there are lots of other things to explore in this cavernous camper!!

Heres some angles of the livingroom/kitchen area, as big as this rv is..its still kinda difficult to get a good picture showing its size...so just kind of piece these pics together in your mind to get a feel of how large and comfortable this unit is....

I LOVED this camper!!!! I felt like a king in a castle. Keep in mind, I am a fairly new owner of a pop-up camper, and as much as I love my pop-up....I could never have the openess in a pop-up that this camper offers!!! It really was more room than we needed, but awful nice to have!!

Ok...lets check out the sleeping areas....here's the bunk room....3 bunks and a fold out sofa, complete with tv/dvd/video gaming set up. Perfect for sleeping up to 5 kids comfortably!!!

So the kids are set up in their own little bunk area supplied with all the goodies they need to stay out of our way. I think the video game system was an XBox...my kids never got around to doing any video gaming, but if the weather would have been rainy...they would have been wearing it out...it also came with those bongo drums for the Donkey Kong Bongo game!!!

Ok...lets head tothe adult slleping area.....this room is decorated so elegantly that I felt guilty for sleeping in there!!! Very classy....nothing at all tacky!!! The wife thought it was perfect.....I, personally, thought it needed some flames painted on the walls and some chain-link fencing on the cieling...but this is why no one asks me to decorate their homes!!!!

The shades drop down for privacy:

But are easily lifted for a more OPEN feel:
100_6662.jpg

I believe the bed size was queen, I know I woke up most mornings with our 7 year old in bed with us, and I never knew she snuck in until I woke for the morning!!! The bed was very comfortable and roomy..I believe their was a memory foam topper on it which made it feel like a cloud...VERY NICE!!!!!!

Bathroom shots:

Heres a couple of pics of some of the board games and stuff.....I dont know why I didnt take pictures of ALL OF THE CABINETRY, showing how well stocked the cookware, silverware, and dinnerware was, as well as so many other little things that most of us just wouldnt think to bring along, but it was already there for you, as if Tinah159 KNEW you'd forget...paper towels, dish detergent...even hand sanitizer and aluminum foil!!!!

We truelly enjoyed our stay in Tinah159's Rv and would suggest it to anyone looking for some real comfort at the Fort. Her website is www.CampAtTheFort.com ....PLEASE give her a look and feel confident that she will go out of her way to make sure your vacation is top notch. I WILL rent from her again.

Now....on to the FORT FIEND GRAND GATHERING photos....

I am sooo happy that you and your family got to come down! The kids looked thrilled in the pictures. It was nice to meet you in person.

So glad you had such a wonderful experience.

Rog, it was nice to finally meet you and your family. Hope you had a great time at WDW. The camper looks great. We showed it to my wife's aunt and she is considering it for a future trip to the Fort.

Day 2.....pain......pain...... visitors...pain meds...visitors...reliefe!!!

I apparently either sat too long on the drive down,or over did it when unpacking or a combination of both...not real sure what happened...but I could barely move for most of Sunday. I laid flat on the floor of the camper...occassionally gimping my way outside to the picnic table to lay flat on there. But the DISfolks didnt leave me hanging...I had visitors...and some of those visitors brought me candy.....the kind that relieves pain...THANK YOU(you know who ya'll are)...

Sunday was a rough day.....but you guys stopping by and making me laugh made the pain much more barable(sp?)....by late Sunday evening, the meds had kicked in enough for me to start moving around...by Monday morning I felt great......stay tuned for Monday pics!!!!

Lovin' the trip report Rog, lots of great photos. That looks like a great trailer with a great set up for families. So many of the 5'ers are set up for a big dining room in the back instead of the bunks, but I like that layout in the back for the kids. Like you said, given a solid rainy day and there is plenty of room in that for games, reading, chillin. Or more likely some name calling, fist fights, hair pulling, and yet the parents can retire to the master BR suite, lock the door, draw the shades and call the cops!

I am so glued to the disboards for the next few weeks to catch these TRs!popcorn::

I also wanted to add, that last set of photos, with Gina and your daughter - man that's a close resemblance! Both beautiful of course, but they look like twins!

Great T/R
I had to show my Hubby your photo's of you laying on the picnic table. He is currently nursing a back injury. It is a workmens Comp thing so it is taking sooooooo long for him to get a decent diagnosis. Anyhow, I proved to him, he could still go to Disney!!!!!

They WERE thrilled...there was very little bickering this trip. They spent alot of time having fun with Seabee's kids, and me & Gina loved hanging out with Jim & Nicole. I wanted to thank you again for the Disney Lanyards...the kids wore them the whole way home. Thats was really nice of you, thanks so much!
Somebody tell Rog not to use the flash when taking a picture in the mirror. I'M BLIND!!!!
LOL...Jim, it was the only way to block my reflection and prevent the mirror from breaking!!!

LOVE the pics Rog - can't wait to see more!! :thumbsup2
And you will see more...Im only about half way through with them.

IF ANYONE WANTS ANY OF THESE PICS REMOVED, JUST LET ME KNOW////I HAVEN'T ASKED PERMISSION TO POST THESE AQND IF YOU'D PREFER "NOT" TO HAVE YOUR PICTURE POSTED, JUST LET ME KNOW. This is partiually why i havent named everyone in the pics...not sure who wants to be named and who may not.

:goodvibes I really enjoyed your pictures. It brings back memories from when we were at the fort.

So glad you had such a wonderful experience.
Thanks Shirley....did we get to run into each other? I met so many folks and its easy to confuse names and faces, I appologize for not remembering.

Rog, it was nice to finally meet you and your family. Hope you had a great time at WDW. The camper looks great. We showed it to my wife's aunt and she is considering it for a future trip to the Fort.

Dan...you really gave our trip a great kickstart with the mugs...that was so unexpected and appreciated!!! Thanks...Gina and Tori DO resemble each other more and more everyday...it scares the hell out of me!!! She's growing up so fast!!!

Sky...Im highly alergic to pain, that stuff really hurts me, but being in pain at Disney beats the hell put of being in pain at home!!! Ive been hurting all day today, and its no where near as much fun as hurting on that picnic table!!! Honestly, I wasnt sure if Id be able to go to any of the parks...and I was ok with that....I figured Id just chill and enjoy the fort from that table while the wife and kids did the parks and wore themselves out. Luckily, I was better and did more parks than I really even wanted to....but vegging out on that table for a week would have been just fine with me.:thumbsup2

I've been waiting for your TR Rog....they always hold the unexpected surprises! I really wish we could have made it to the GG so I would have the pleasure of meeting many of you in person. Hopefully in the future...and I do look forward to seeing some Fiends over Thanksgiving time. Anyways....I am patiently awaiting the continuance of this TR!

Monday morning I wake up feeling a little stiff....but good enough to make it to MK for at least a few hours.....right after I get in a few minutes of fishing in with 2goofycampers, Born to fish, & pirate Jeff....I have already posted pics of this on the FRANKS FISHING SKILLS thread in the Camping Community forum....it was a good morning. Frank used some pull and charm and landed us some live shiners to fish with...it was my first time fishing with live bait...man, it makes it so much easier to have the bait work itself instead of attempting to make a piece of plastic look alive by tugging on a string!!!!

FRANK..you really ARE a master fisherman!!!!

On to the Magic Kingdom.....

sigh...sorry guys...but this is a family favorite...we do it at least twice a trip, I'll spare the 674 pics we have of all of the magical cuteness and narrow it down to this ONE...notice the smile I managed to pull off for this picture...I think the pain meds assisted this smile!!!

Monday night was EMH at MK....we met with Seabee and Kingbee, as well as Polynesian Pixie and their kids for some late night fun.....I only have a few pics of this....and I will post them shortly.

Rog, it was great to meet you and your family, one question though.....there was strawberry shortcake somewhere???

So we make it back for the late night hours at MK. After a few rides we met up with Jim & Nicole(Seabee & Kingbee), then We stumled into PolynesianPixie, and within minutes TiggerInBama's daughter was with us. So we had a pretty large crowd roaming around a damp, dark, smoke filled Magik Kingdom...it was really nice to have the park so emptied out after the little sprinkle storm that rolled through.

(Tori is very relaxed in this picture as Im stressing out trying to catch up to her score of 999999....I never even came close with a final score of 37000...shes such a smart alek!!!How dare she hand me my own butt on a platter!!!)

100_6723.jpg

Dont ask ME for help "Ms I got the highest score possible"!!!!

These pics were taken by my wife....she has no business handling a camera, she should be forced by law to return every picture she has ever taken!!!

Those last two shots were taken over my shoulder without even looking, and they are STILL 10 times better than anything my wife has ever shot!!!

Ok..so we're with Jim & Nicole and there kids...let me tell you, their kids are HILARIOUS!!!! Full of personality, funny, outspoken, cute as can be entertainment. Like female miniature Jim Carreys....just SO ANIMATED!!!! I really enjoyed the times we spent with this family...they are some of the nicest people in the world! If you get the chance to hang with these guys....DO IT!!!! They are a blast!

Hey Rog - I've got a question for you about the bunk room:

Do the top bunks have any rails? I don't see any but think there must be something to keep kids from falling off...

Thanks! Looking forward to the rest of your TR!

Leslie

Rog, it was great to meet you and your family, one question though.....there was strawberry shortcake somewhere???

LOL!!!!!Frank & Denise were kind enough to load us up with some deserts they couldnt finish from the dining plan the night before they pulled out....They also awarded me a FFFT (Fort Fiends Fishin' Tourney) snow globe for Best Catch even though Franks fish was big enough to have swallowed my fish!! I will post a picture of the globe soon....Frank & Denise, we LOVE you guys. My family has met with these fine folks twice now, and would love nothing more than to be adopted by them!!!!! Genuinely GOOD HEARTED beautiful people, and I honestly feel like they are family....no, thats not true...I dont care for most of my family, and these guys are way better!!!

Here's some pics of my meetings with the late nighters at MK Monday night:

This was a GREAT FRIGGIN NIGHT!!!!!! We all went on Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain, most went on the Haunted House ride, and we had our own boat for the Jungle Cruise....the tour guide for Jungle Cruise could sense that we were a little on the sick side and I could be wrong, maybe he was just as good for EVERYBODY...but it seemed like he turned up the risk factor on his script...the guy was quick with the wit, much more so than any other tour guide Ive ever had on this ride. I think we all had a killer time! Thanks for hanging with us you guys(Amy and Kids, Britney, and the Seabees) we had way too much fun!!!

Stay tuned for Tuesdays trip to Hollywood Studios.
