Our November Food Porn - Lots of Places & Loads of Pictures

Maybe I should add Maya Grill to my list of restaurants to eat at. Blue Zoo looks wonderful as always, can't wait to eat there again.

And I think it's great that you have kids who are open to trying new things, and don't just stick to macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets. :thumbsup2

A quick counter service at Contempo Cafe.

Lois and I both had the flatbread $6.99

Cal had the kids nugget meal $4.99

Honey Lime Chicken - served with pepper jack cheese on multigrain roll with salsa-Ranch dressing

Soup of the day ~ I think it was cheese and broccoli and it was VERY good. $2.59

Every time we have been here, the food has been good. The sandwiches are huge and you can split one and share a soup and be happy. It's a notch above the usual counter service and is never too busy.

Well we're coming to the end of the trip and the reports. Just one more after this you'll be glad to hear! :hehe:

This was next to our last night. We usually leave this night free as we often decide we forgot something from somewhere and head back for it. We never know where we'll be. :hehe: As it happened, we were back at the resort and had no plans. Didn't fancy Kona again so we jumped in the car and headed towards The Crossroads. We ended up at The Turf Club at Saratoga Springs as we've had nice meals here in the past. We also knew we could eat and be back to watch Wishes. :ohyes: Despite not having an ADR we were offered seating inside or out and chose in as it was getting a bit windy.

Our server was over within a few minutes to take our drinks order and brought us some bread.

I had a cocktail that has 'P antioxidant' on the bill. That must be good for me right? $9.25

Lois and I decided to order the tomato soup between us. It was sooo tasty! Miss Callie had some too and the girls decided if this was on the lunch menu, we should come and they would have just that. $5.49

zzz00009.jpg

Al chose the crab bites 'n' dip $10.49

zzz00008.jpg

Cal asked for some onion rings which we all tried one of  $5.99

zzz00010.jpg

For our main course, I had the pork filet which was lovely. My only complaint was that it could have been hotter. I should really have sent it back, but the server was being run ragged by a demanding family with 2 small kids on the next table and I felt a bit sorry for him.

Lois chose the burger $11.99

zzz00012.jpg

Al had the roast chicken. $17.99

zzz00014.jpg

Callie had the kids grilled chicken $6.09

With a couple of O'Douls, kids drinks and a glass of white the bill was $123.00

A really enjoyable meal and another place we'll keep on our reserve list for those nights we don't have an ADR. The kids love it here as they always find lots of CM's with pins they need too. Their lanyards musn't get raided so much! :hehe:

Last one tomorrow....the return to Cali Grill

Our last dinner  was to be at Cali Grill. We went for a few drinks in the Top of the World Lounge which was nice, then headed off across the wind tunnel for our ADR. :hehe: We checked in and headed in to the lift when our pager went off. Excellent! :ohyes: Unfortunately our table was on the right hand side of the restaurant as you go in. Though it's nearer the castle, I really don't like this side. It felt like we were sat in the middle of Piccadilly station (which is not good for those that don't know it!). I was sick of getting my chair knocked before the meal even came.

I have to say the people on the next table to us (about 12 of them) were absolute pigs. Their kids had thrown food everywhere and the carpets were filthy. The clean up went on through a lot of our meal. :hissy:

On to the food......

I had one of my favourites ~ goats cheese ravioli $13.00

zzz00019.jpg

Alec had the shrimp salad $16.00

zzz00020.jpg

Followed by the fish of the day which was grouper $38.00

zzz00021.jpg

I couldn't resist the scallops which were really good $36.00

zzz00022.jpg

Once again both kids had a filet $44.00

zzz00023.jpg

Callie asked for ice cream $4.00

zzz00024.jpg

Al and I shared the desert trio $11.00

zzz00025.jpg

Lois had her favourite choccy pudding $4.00

zzz00026.jpg

The bill with shirley's, a bottle of wine, water, tip and discount was $268.00

Though the food was nice, the evening was totally ruined by fellow diners and a bad table. We will be back, but next time i'll just ask for a different table. :hehe:
