that's so neat! i love that your mom decorated your room with alice stuff. i just love the story and how "proper" she is. i have an alice bag that has a picture of her holding a mushroom on it and it says, "curiouser and curiouser." so cute!

The bag sounds great -- I adore Alice because she is always surrounded by crazies -- there are a lot of days in my classroom that I can identify with the way she must feel. I also love the Chesire Cat, and how he says, "We're all mad here."

We are getting married by the justice of the peace on Friday August 8th. We are just going to go out to dinner that night with our parents and grandparents and siblings.

We were supposed to have our actual wedding this year and my parents booked and paid for our honeymoon package. Then when the economy started sucking, my father didn't end up getting the huge bonus from his job which was going to pay for the wedding. Since we were really counting on that money to pay for the majority of everything we didn't have that much saved up (only enough to cover my dress, dj, favors etc.).

We are still going to have an actual wedding, but had to move it to October of 2009 to give us and my parents time to save the money. Since my parents already paid for the honeymoon we decided to just to the justice of the peace thing for now and have the big ceremony and everything next year. It actually works out better though because my extended family (about 80 people) is planning a family vacation for next summer. Although I am able to go away for as long as I want in the summer (I teach), my DF only gets one week vacation a year. So we are doing our honeymoon when we actually get legally married...just having the party next year. Migh go away on a weeekend trip on something, but the fancy stuff is happening next week

i totally understand about the money thing. the economy is so horrible right now! i think a lot of people are suffering. i'm okay right now but it's really just up and down and kinda scary! it's very nice of you to postpone the big wedding. most people would be selfish and not want to change their plans. even though i wouldn't change anything about my wedding day, if i had it to do over again i'd take the money i spent on it and go on a disney cruise!

well, it's officially 12:15 a.m. eastern standard time which means it's august 3rd, which means exactly one month from today erica and i will be leaving for disney world!!!!!!!!! i can't believe we're this close! i just hope i'm super busy this month to make the time go by faster!

i did my 29-day countdown that only makes sense to me again. under each mickey head is the number of days we have left to wait and a little surprise to make me smile. here's last mickey head.....i can't wait to pull this one off!

Yeah, we are okay money wise as well, but if we put money into a big wedding right now then we totatly wouldn't be. We also have an opportunity to move into a bigger apartment (we live in a studio right now) and we would rather put some money into doing that right now because we really want to have a baby and a studio apartment would make it a little crammed. Wish us luck...hopefully the honeymoon with produce a little magical baby

LOVE your countdown! You are pretty crafty!! I'd like to bring a countdown into work to hang in my office but I fear I'd take too much teasing. As it is I just have the # of days written on a white board -whenever someone asks about it and I tell them where I'm going they look at me like I'm nuts for being excited about it!

i have this hanging on my office door so every time i sit down to work i can remember i'm very close to going to my happy place.

I'm going to use my countertop again. I don't really have a good place to hang a poster board anyway. My neighbor has the side of her fridge, you have your office door (which is awesome by the way ) I just don't have a very good 'extra' spot. If I do mine the way I'm thinking it will look pretty boring at the beginning but will look really cool towards the end. I've got to get moving on that I turn my first one over TOMORROW!!!!!

just found out that disney ticket prices are increasing as of TODAY! nice they gave us some warning, huh? i usually buy from undercovertourist.com, but they've already raised their prices accordingly and mapleleaftickets.com is honoring the old prices through tuesday. so i called anna this morning and we're gonna buy tickets for the december trip when she gets home later today so we can save $40! i don't have to buy one for me because i'm just upgrading the one day i bought to qualify for free dining when i get there in september to a 4-day base and using my AP to get into the parks. i think tickets increased about $8-10. i'm still fuzzy on my math but that's what it's figuring out to be when i do the figuring. but that's based on a 4-day base ticket so it depends on what kind of ticket you buy and how many days you want to get as to how much the price increase is.

wow.......you guys aren't wasting time, huh? ray and i have been married 6 years and it'll probably be another year before we have a baby. we're kinda slow!

are the pieces you're referring to the mickey heads? if so, i didn't make them. i "borrowed" them from the home depot paint samples. they have disney paint there and the samples are on mickey head shaped pieces. i usually pick a few up every time i go in there so i don't have to swipe like 30 at a time!

i'm actually not crafty at all! luckily i work at home so the only teasing i have endure is from my husband! our roommate used to have a HUGE dog and he'd always jump either in our laps or in the bed with us. it was hilarious because he was SO HUGE and thought he was a lap dog!

thanks! i know i'm a very lucky girl this year! i'm also lucky that i can drive there. if i had to fly there's no way i'd be able to afford to go back three times in one year!

i'm very lucky this year! our april/may trip was a full-fledged vacation. this september trip i couldn't pass up though! i have an AP that doesn't expire until late september and with free dining basically all i had to pay for was the hotel and gas to get there! i did have to buy a 1-day ticket to qualify for free dining but i knew we were going back in december and so i'm just going to upgrade it to a 4-day to use then. and our december trip is a budgeted trip just to see the christmas shows/decorations. we're staying off site to save money and just getting base tickets. and i have my DDE card that's good until may so we can get 20% off food while we're there. i'm getting all the disney i can before i know i will have to take a break to be pregnant and have a newborn....why can't i just skip to the toddler years?
