our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

Great Update! We never attempt to do Fantasyland in the afternoon.
What does Ray's Ears say? "Ray" looks too far over, is there something in front of "Ray"?

DSC04487.jpg

The first day we were at MK, Pirates was shut down for the better part of the day, but we did get on it twice on different days and both times only had 10 minute waits too. And we definitely didn't stand in line for 10 minutes either time. We walked through and got on the ride immediately. I was really surprised.

I don't really like doing the poncho thing, but I am however going to put a spare set of shorts in my backpack (a wet shirt I can deal with, but sometimes wet pants can get annoying).

36 days!!!!!!

There is a pre trip report link in my signature if anyone wants to read it!

And we definitely didn't stand in line for 10 minutes either time. We walked through and got on the ride immediately. I was really surprised.
We have the worst WDW POTC luck. On our last trip there, we waited 50 minutes, and were evacuated without riding at the last minute. The ride kept breaking down. And, true story, in 1993 they stopped the line and ushered through a horde. They had shut down the ride to clear it, then sent the horde through, then nobody else could board until the group got off. We waited forever, because you couldn't really move because of the crowd packed in there:crowded:.When we got back to the hotel, we found out that it had been Princess Diana and her boys. Exciting, but a bummer of a wait, nonetheless.

Love the Belle pictures. The beast looks like a good sport. We've never seen that show, but it looks fun.

once we got on the ride there were 3 high school-aged girls sitting behind us who were talking really loudly about who was dating so-and-so and who kissed who in the hotel room last night and what a skank so-and-so is. it was really annoying. then one of the girls has the nerve to say, "this better get good real quick. so far it sucks." how would you know???? you won't shut up long enough to enjoy it!!! but then when the drop came they were in mid-gossip-gab-fest and it totally scared them. :rotfl2: it was really funny! they shut up for the rest of the ride, thank goodness

That is priceless. Thank goodness they shut up. By the way what setting do you put your camera on for pictures inside rides. I would love to take some pictures inside that ride too.

I like the Hall of Presidents too although I have only seen it once. The last two times we had our little guys with us and that's surely something they wouldn't haven't enjoyed of course maybe next year my boys might enjoy it because they are older.

I always heard about that story time with Belle but never really knew what it was, I totally am going to that next year.

I know, I know can I guess

this was SUCH a cute show and i'll definitely be back to see it again. if you have kids or are just a fan of B&B, you must see this if you can fit it in!

up next.......
clueDSC04530.jpg

Hmmmmm.....I wonder what that is :confused3

I actually have never watched the 'full' story time....I got the end of it in Dec and thought it was really cute :upsidedow....so I look forward to watching it if we can!

Cool thing about receiving and giving the fastpasses :thumbsup2 That's always fun on both sides :goodvibes and you crack me up wearing that poncho......but I will do that too I'm sure!

We are under 2 months!!! :cheer2:

GREAT update Dawn, loved all the pics. We couldn't ride pirates, closed for refurb so at least I got to see some pics of it. Terrible about those teenagers on the ride, I hate that, glad they shut up though. Very cool about the low wait times and FP score. Gotta comment on the poncho, COME ON DAWN, no fun on splash if you don't get wet ;) :rotfl: that is my favorite MK ride, JUST LOVE IT!
Stinks about Fantasyland crowds, I agree about Peter Pan, I would never wait an hour, I don' tunderstand why more people don't FP either :confused3 Can't wait for more. popcorn::
Lesley

after our nap (:rolleyes1 ), we decided to head towards fantasyland.

BAD IDEA!!!! check out all the strollers. MADNESS!

DSC04510.jpg

Yeah...mojo gone fo sure.

Hall of Presidents is one of my favorite attractions........only because it's cool and a place to nap and the seats aren't that bad. It's a must do for me so I can get a nap in....;)

this picture cracks me up - i see at least 4 people taking the same picture i am. i'm sure there are more! :rotfl: [/SIZE]

DSC04498.jpg

we walked around the corner to check the wait for splash and this guy walking by hands me 2 fastpasses. he said they had to leave and couldn't use them. how cool! :yay:

DSC04499.jpg

i looked at the time and it was 12:30, so we were good to go! we ran over and grabbed fastpasses to BTMRR and then hopped in the fastpass entrance for splash. i, being the nerd that i am, wore a poncho during the ride. last september i got SOAKED on splash and i was miserable for the next 2 hours with wet clothes. so that wasn't going to happen again! ray decided he was too cool to wear a poncho. then we get up to the front and the CM puts us in the front row. ray was like, "oh, great!!!" :rotfl:
our fastpasses to BTMRR weren't ready yet, but when we got up to the line to check out the wait it was only 15 minutes, so we just hopped in line. jordan's mojo was kickin today! :yay:

here we are enjoying our crazy train ride! i think i took this going up the first incline in the dark.

DSC04501.jpg

That picture of Splash AND everyone else taking pictures is too funny.

Dig the pic of you and Ray ON BTMRR.

Good mojo!!!!!!! Especially from that nice man:thumbsup2

That Woody's round up song sticks in your head man, DH was signing it for weeks after we got home!

:rotfl: that's too funny!

I gotta say, your updates always bring a smile to my face! I love how happy you two look each day:lovestruc

aww.....thanks! :goodvibes

My DS loves the Hall of Presidents. I told him it was broken on this trip. Hopefully, he never reads this! ;)

 that's hilarious! at least it's a nice cool place to take a nap while your DS enjoys it!

That picture of all the strollers is a great form of Birth Control lol jk......The Hall of Presidents is a great time to cool off and take a nap, but it is nice to watch and remember how nice it is to be an American lol. (soo cheeseball, I know I am) I love the Picture of the Splash Mountain drop, everyone is taking that picture...so funny. Cant wait for the next installment. Peter Pan is ALWAYS busy and long....I love that ride as well.

VERY TRUE about the birth control! i don't get the peter pan thing. it's my FAVORITE movie but i'd never wait in that line!!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

UGH im soo mad.... That post by DisneyFairy19, I was accidently logged in on my sisters Disboard username...for some reason I log into my name but get crossed with hers...Sorry, so that was actually my comment above (Disneyfairy66)

no problem.....just thought it was a new reader initially!

I can't believe all those strollers! Wow!

I wear a poncho on Splash Mountain too. It's just not worth it to be soggy all day.

I've never been in Hall of Presidents, and after reading your description of it, I think I will stay away forever!

Belle's story time looks so cute!

well, if you're ever bored and need a break, it's not all that bad. but it's definitely not something i'm going to scramble to try to fit in!

nope........I have the gift of being able to act like an idiot, alcohol free!:rotfl2:

:lmao:

Here I am!!!;)

Dawn, you are the first person I've seen wear a poncho on splash!! I laughed so hard when I saw that!!:rotfl:

yeah, i got soaked on it in september and i wasn't going through walking around soggy all day again. i don't care if i look silly......i'm dry! :cool2:

That poncho thing was hillarious!!! My mother always tries to make the family wear ponchos, but we rufuse.

I'm Amy btw!!!!!! I love your trip report!

I'm fairly new...I'm a Disney fanatic going on my honeymoon this August. DF has never been so I am really excited to share my love of Disney with him. He's really just a big kid so I think he will really enjoy himself! Nice to be part of this and to know that there are so many people out there like me:)

thanks for joining in! the dis is a wonderful place to get your daily dose of disney. i don't know what i'd do without it! congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!

Add me to the list of people who laughed at the poncho......:rotfl:

You're so funny, Dawn; you make the same observations I do! I said the same thing about Woody's Roundup Show last week when we were there: we came off BTMRR - it was playing; we came off SM - it was playing again; we have lunch and try to get over to POTC - it's playing again! JEEZ!

And, I agree, the Belle storytime is adorable! My girls loved it when they were youner!

i'm glad my dorkiness made you giggle! ;) i love belle's storytime and i'm gonna try to go every trip from now on!

Our DS was selected to be Maurice when we saw the show. I love the interaction of it.

The stroller shot was <<Freaky >>

Its like where old strollers go to die.

:rotfl2: that's great! so cool that your DS got to be maurice!

Great updates as always!

I have to admit, it made me laugh when you wore a poncho - although more fool me because when I went on it I was soaked to the bone! :rotfl:

And I also have to admit.....I enjoyed the Hall of Presidents! I am a geek though so that might have something to do with it! :rotfl2:

i'm usually a geek but i just didn't enjoy it. my DH is normally into stuff like that too (as i type this he's watching the "john adams" miniseries on HBO) but he thought it was kinda boring. oh, well!!

oh, and now you'll remember to wear a poncho next time!!! :thumbsup2

Me too! We like the Hall of Presidents. Our kids like it too! Don't get me wrong, it's not our favorite but we enjoy it. I also like the fact that WDW is an international destination and it promotes and educates.

The sea of strollers! Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehe

very true! if i had kids i'd take them there at least once to see the show - it's very educational (except for the andrew jackson thing).

Those girls on POTC would of annoyed me too, I probably would've had to say something to them. I'm glad they did shut up though.

That was so nice of you to pay it foward with the FP's.

I agree, the Hall of Presidents is boring, I saw it once, and that was enough.

yeah, those POTC girls were making me mad. if they hadn't have shut up i would've said something to them and it wouldn't have been very disney-ish.

I wear a poncho, too, on Splash Mountain. After riding many, many times and not getting too wet, I got soaked by the big splash at the bottom by the car behind us as we rounded the corner. People can laugh at me all they want, but at least I am not a soggy mess when I get off. We can just be nerds together!:)

that big splash at the bottom from the water cannon is what got me last time, too! totally wasn't expecting it!

I just noticed our tickers say

2 MONTHS!!!!

:cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:    :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:

now it says less than two months!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

How hot was it when you were down there? My DH and I may book a bounce back when we go in Jan 09 and I've only been at the following times: first week of May for Grad nite and I thought it was really hot; mid-end of October in 03 and again I thought it was really hot (this was the week mission:space opened and it was cuh-razy! so maybe it was just waiting in lines and being hot that made it seem miserable); and then 2 times in last week of Jan-first week of Feb and I LOVE it then. I'm just curious of how people bear the heat or when they think the next best time to go is, weather wise.

our dates this year were april 27 - may 3 and the weather was WONDERFUL. the only time i remember being hot was while waiting for a bus on thursday afternoon around 6:00. we wore light jackets almost every night. last year we went may 5 - 10 and it was nice then, as well. i did get hot while waiting for the MK afternoon parade one day, but otherwise it was great. we went in september last year as well and i don't remember being hot much on that trip. i think our dates were september 21 - 23. but the weather we had this trip was definitely the best. now granted i live in georgia so i'm used to the heat. but i don't think the temp got above 85 on this last trip.

Ahhhh......I just love the MK.

You know I got completely soaked on Splash TWICE last trip. Is that water cannon device new? I had never gotten that wet in the past.

I have NEVER been to the Hall of Presidents but I feel the same way about The American Experience. It's just a good place to rest and get cooled off. ;)

I just KNEW Belle was going to get picked for the Beast. Dangit!

Bring on the rest of the MK day! popcorn::

i think that water cannon device is EVIL!!! i've never done the american experience. me and erica are spending a good bit of time at epcot this september, so maybe i'll get to do it then. good place for a nap, huh? i'll keep that in mind. ;)

You crack me up with that poncho! :rotfl:

i'm such a dork, i know! :rolleyes1

Great Update! We never attempt to do Fantasyland in the afternoon.
What does Ray's Ears say? "Ray" looks too far over, is there something in front of "Ray"?

we normally concentrate on fantasyland in the mornings when we do our rope drop day. our rope drop day this year was the last day of our vacation so we haven't made it that far yet. the afternoons there are CRAZY!!!

his hat says, "Ray-Ray". that's what everyone calls him.

The first day we were at MK, Pirates was shut down for the better part of the day, but we did get on it twice on different days and both times only had 10 minute waits too. And we definitely didn't stand in line for 10 minutes either time. We walked through and got on the ride immediately. I was really surprised.

i don't think i've ever seen much of a line there. i think we did wait about 15 minutes in september, but it was a freak thing because the park wasn't even that busy that day.

I don't really like doing the poncho thing, but I am however going to put a spare set of shorts in my backpack (a wet shirt I can deal with, but sometimes wet pants can get annoying).

36 days!!!!!!

There is a pre trip report link in my signature if anyone wants to read it!

36 days.....awesome!!! i will definitely check out your pre-TR. i tend to lurk on those though, so don't be offended if i don't post a lot. i love the poncho because they're so small and easy to store, then you can just throw them away when you're done or stuff them in a ziploc bag in case it rains later! :thumbsup2

We have the worst WDW POTC luck. On our last trip there, we waited 50 minutes, and were evacuated without riding at the last minute. The ride kept breaking down. And, true story, in 1993 they stopped the line and ushered through a horde. They had shut down the ride to clear it, then sent the horde through, then nobody else could board until the group got off. that's crazy about pirates! cool that princess diana was there when you were, though. belle's story time is really cute - you should see it next time if you like that movie!

That is priceless. Thank goodness they shut up. By the way what setting do you put your camera on for pictures inside rides. I would love to take some pictures inside that ride too.

I know, I know can I guess

i either use high sensitivity or the twilight setting. both are without flash. that's for fireworks pictures and for dark areas.

you should definitely check out belle's story time. it's really great! you can guess. i don't care if you guess right - i'm sure it's obvious!

:cheer2:

we will check out belle's story time if we can. it's really cute! i'm totally wearing a poncho on wet rides unless it's just unbearably hot. i hate walking around in wet pants!

I know where this is.

you can say.....i don't mind!

GREAT update Dawn, loved all the pics. We couldn't ride pirates, closed for refurb so at least I got to see some pics of it. i HATE walking around in wet shorts. now if i was hot i would definitely not wear a poncho. but in nice weather i don't want to get wet - it's so uncomfortable!

Yeah...mojo gone fo sure.

:rotfl2: very true about the hall of presidents. i will keep that in mind about naps in the future!

That picture of Splash AND everyone else taking pictures is too funny.

Dig the pic of you and Ray ON BTMRR.

Good mojo!!!!!!! Especially from that nice man:thumbsup2

thanks! we are silly. yeah, the mojo was there both before and after fantasyland.

Have a great rest of the 4th Weekend!!!!!!!!!!

Remember your drink limit is about 2 drinks....;)

Oh my! I am such a dork....I just got so excited because it was the first time that I got responses to anything I have posted!:lmao:

I have been reading a lot, but just started posting and stuff like that and it really get me excited that people where talking back.

I had to tell DF and of course he made fun of me:rotfl2: Can you blame him? I would have made fun of him too...lol

All caught up. Great. You are so sun shiny. Thank you for the bright spots. The trip report is a joy to read. :worship:

ray videoed the TTA ride and when we went into space mountain he put it on night vision. there's not a whole lot to see, but it's still pretty cool!

Hey Dawn, good report thus far. I know I'm behind in your tr, but am catching up. 2 trips ago, we decided to ride the blue line while waiting for wishes to start. Cherie stayed to hold our location and the kids and I went on the ride. While we rode, we noticed that sm was lit up on the inside. I have a pic of it somewhere. As soon as I find it, I'll post it.
