Our new best friend: Bernard

Our DVC info package arrived yesterday. I had left a message with our guide, Bernard, that we would possibly be calling back last night but most likely this morning to ask a few questions about financing, pts., Member Getaways etc.

Well, lo & behold, Bernard called us this morning and after 60 min. of some pretty good grilling by DW it looks like we're in at SSR for 200 pts.!!!!! (pending any background checks, etc.) I did NOT inhale!!!

We'll find out soon but we're pretty darn excited around here and we can't say enough good things about our new Best Friend in the Whole Wide World........Bernard!!!!!

Thanks to everyone on this board for making this a VERY easy decision for us. The "Magic" is contagious!!!!!

Bernard is wonderful. I met him on my DVC "tour" back in December 1999. It wasn't really a tour, we just sat down and talked for about 45 minutes - didn't take the van out to see any of the resorts, just the sample rooms set up in the sales office. I was somewhat interested (which was unbelievable at the time since I was so turned off on all timeshares) and played with the numbers for a couple weeks after that.

Then, in August 2000, decided the time was right. I called Bernard back, and he was able to put together a wonderful offer for us. After speaking with him on the phone, we did everything else by email.

Prior to BCV being available, I told Bernard that we were definitely interested in getting an add-on and that he should keep us posted and at the top of whatever waitlist he had. Every few months, he would give a call with the current situation. In the end, our situation changed (because BCV took so long before they were offering it) and didn't end out buying the add-on.

When we visit any on-site resort, I can count on a voice message from Bernard, letting us know his schedule for the time we're there and offering to get together if we want, and just to say hi and wish us well.

Bernard is simply the best. He did good by us, and continues to.
