Hi everyone,

Sorry it took so long, but here is a list of 'some' (I don't remember exactly every one...but I'll try) of the meals/restuarants we ate at on our trip in Dec.

The weather was QUITE chilly (Dec. 15-22), so ALOT of hot chocolate was called for!

(in no particular order :( sorry)

1. WHISPERING CANYON CAFE (lunch)~ We loved this place from our Honeymoon and it was the first place we went to again after we checked in. The food was great and during lunch, its not that rowdy at all. It was pretty quiet and we walked right in, no wait.

2. HOLLYWOOD & VINE (Fantasmic pkg)~ We LOVED the buffet food here, it was so yummy like home cooking. The price wasn't bad at all, I think it was like $22 or so pp. The staff was very friendly and we had PS, and we only had to wait like 5 mins. The dessert bar was great, of course everyone was waiting for the ice cream machine. But the food was very good, we would go back there definetly.

3. ROARING FORKS SNACKS~We grabbed some quick breakfast here, actually we shipped some cereal, bread and p.b. to our room prior to our arrival and we munched on those whenever we were hungry.

4. O'HANA (Dinner)~ I loved the food here too, but DH didn't like it that much...he's not into trying new things. We had WONDERFUL seats, right by the window, saw the whole firework show. They bring a tray w/ fried shrimp wontons, bbq wings, fried rice, string beans, salad and bread. Then they bring skewers of food over to you and you just tell them which one you want. The food was SO YUMMY! (I swear, by the end of this trip, we MUST have gained some pounds, no matter how much we walked!)

5. CINDY'S ROYAL TABLE (Breakfast)~ B/C of all the jive I was hearing about this, I made the ressies. (I was very shocked when I was able to get them, we couldn't get them last year for our honeymoon)...either way, the food was ok, I don't think we would eat there again. The princesses were beautiful, and very sweet. The food were eggs, bacon, sausage, potato cassarole, fruit parfait, and pastry.

6. The 50's PRIME-TIME DINER (or something like that....I FORGOT! :( it's at MGM STUDIOS) Great food, our "mom" SUE was hilarious, and made us eat all our veggies. DH had a grilled chicken sandwich and I had the meatloaf..mmmm.....omg...I'm hungry now...

7. We went back to WHISPERING CANYON for dinner one time and I think that was pretty much it. We ate alot of fast food, like at Roaring Forks, we ate alot of burgers and chicken fingers there, sometimes we'd bring it back to our room to eat and watch the fireworks from there.

I FINALLY tried the TURKEY LEG (at MGM) and it wasn't what I thought it'd be...it was really salty and...I don't know...I didn't like the slimmy dark meat kinda thing...so I ended up tossing it and grabbing a good ol cup of ICE CREAM! :p

Overall, all the food was so yummy this time around. (We were bummed out that the Luau called and cancelled the show...but we had a great time eating anyway! hee hee) I'm sure there were other places we ate at in Disney, but my memory is going.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS!!!! :grouphug:

Thanks so much for posting! I'm trying to narrow down my choices and it is so difficult. Your reviews helped me to decide..... Ohana's seems like a must see and maybe we'll get to try it this time.

Hi Brigitte,

The food was great at O'hana, we originally had the Luau on the night, but they cancelled, so we ended up at O'hana's. The tray of appetizers they bring out to you are also unlimited, so we basically filled up on that! On the skewers, they had grilled shrimp, pork chop, turkey and one other thing...I forgot :( . That was ok, but the appetizer tray was the best!

I hope you enjoy! If possible, ask for a window seat, we had an amazing view, when the fireworks went off, you can hear it like you're right there and the restuarant lights up from the fireworks! (We originally were brought to another table farther away from the window, but the host said they're cleaning up a nice table for us instead and brought us to the window.)

They also have coconut races for kids...and adults...and they have hula hoop contests...it's a great place. I wish we went during our honeymoon too...but can't wait to go back! :teeth:

ENJOY!!!

Thanks so much for letting me know the details on Ohana's! I have been to WCC and 50's and loved them both. So I was familiar w/ their great service! But I know nothing about Ohana's. I will try for a table by the window and enjoy the races w/ the kids. I appreciate your time in posting me.
