Once we reached the fork in the road, some of the herd went left and some of the herd went right. We went right towards EE of course! We were laughing by this point because it was just so funny how we were all walking in a herd. Seriously, no one was really talking. All you could hear mainly were our footsteps as they hit the pavement. It was such a weird experience.
You are so right! I was in the AK rope-drop herd last summer and it was the same way, you just heard footsteps.
I couldn't decide which way was faster to get to EE, through Asia or Dinoland, I went the Dinoland route. It looks like it may be a little farther distance-wise, but I think fewer people went that way so I may have been able to pick up the pace a little bit.
i'm going back to catch up on this trippie right now, too!
AWww, sorry u missed the baby gorilla. I could stare at the gorillas all day! Thanks for the update!![]()
Oh, I love that early morning herd feeling. It just screams "You're at Disney World!" to me.
And OH. MY. GOODNESS. I would have died if I ever went through that bird enclosure thing. They fly all around you? Yuck. Yuck. YuckYuckYuck.
I've never been down either of the trails because it's always so darn hot at AK in the summer and I just want to get the rides over with and head back to the resort, but I do want to see the gorillas. Maybe we'll have to make a trip down the Pangani Trail this summer. You did say that there's a way to avoid the birds, right?
We love the Meerkats! Madison adores them and never wants to leave. It's too bad you missed the baby gorilla. At least you'll get to see him a bit more grown up this summer.
Isn't it funny how no one is talking during rope drop? It's always a huge group of people walking together and not saying a single word. So strange! I'd love to be able to walk through the queue at EE, but for now, my DH and I just take turns in the single rider line. There never seems to be anyone in that line!
Can't wait for more!
Omg, I love Pangani so much. We spent more than an hour there last month. It was the most incredible experience with the gorillas, which i'll write about in my report. We did see the baby!!! I took a short video too. I can't wait to write about that part. It was truly one of the coolest things I have ever experienced, I really couldn't believe it.

It's amazing how much you can get done when you get there for rope drop!
We love the forest trail. Did you see the bird guides as you entered the bird area? Danielle loves to grab one and we make a game out of trying to find as many as possible. We do the same thing on the Asia trail too. Did you see the naked mole rats?
Sorry about missing the baby gorilla. I would love to have seen that too.
Great pics! I don't see us in any of them, though... I think we were probably a bit behind you.I can't wait to read the next update.

I very much enjoy watching the gorillas. I never spend enough time there, though, because I feel like I should move and let someone else see. I have to share my park with others, I suppose.
We'll be looking for the baby girl on Friday. If we don't get to see her, maybe we can at least get some information from a nice CM about how she's doing. I don't know her name, either, so I hope to find that out. I am bouncing with excitement right now!
There are so many awesome birds all over Disney World. I think they're fun to look at, but I haven't been attacked by one, like a few of our friends have. So far, birds are my friends.![]()
Chris always screams like a girl to be what he considers funny so if your Fiance is anything like Chris (which we both know he is lol) then they'll be screaming and we'll probably get into it too because it will just be so much fun
LOL, I never thought about the no talking thing when the rope drops. But now that you mention it is kind of true! Most people are just in such a rush to get to their ride.
I probably would have been cracking up at the guys at Dinosaur too. And the ride pictures are one of the best parts of that ride.
Bummer about not seeing the baby gorilla.![]()
I always talk at RD... usually to random people around me, to distract them, so that I can inch my way ahead in the herd!![]()
Hey you didnt tell me you updated today! We've had a lady on vacation this week at work so it's been crazy...plus today I was all by myself because the other girl had today off...so I had to be the only person on the platform today

Anyway, great update as usual. Is there a way around that bird area? Because you know there is NO way in heck I'm walking throug there! We've done the Maharajah Jungle Trek but never Pangani (I don't think) so I'd like to do Pangani in July with you.
Oh and of course we'll all have to ride EE together, the 4 of us in the back car...the best way to ride it! Chris always screams like a girl to be what he considers funny so if your Fiance is anything like Chris (which we both know he is lol) then they'll be screaming and we'll probably get into it too because it will just be so much funOk now that I rambled on I'm going to text you tomorrow because I'm 99% sure you're in class right now! Love ya girl

Haha rope drop at AE really is like a herd (minus the few strays who decide to run and beat the stampede lol). You can almost hear a pin drop while walking to EE, I dunno why everyone's always so quiet before![]()
It was exactly the same as with us: silence except for footsteps going to EE. I thought I'd die from a stampede for sure. I had a stroller and thought I was going to catapult Anara out at one point! SERIOUSLY scary!
LOVED the ride though. My kids got to ride it 5 times that day, Ride, FiP, Ride, Child Swap X2!!!
I am so excited to do the Pangani!! I LOVE birds and am really hoping to practice my artsy fartsy photography in there.
I'm following you around Liesa! LOL
It must of been weird walking with all those people and it being quiet. Kinda kreepy!!!
You got a lot done early but it looked liked a zoo around EE.
We haven't done the Pangani trail yet. Making a mental note for next time!![]()
I'm following you around Liesa! LOL
