Day 5 continued: March 17, 2010
We left off following the herd and rope towards the Tree of Life. I have to tell you, this was the only thing we didnt like about rope drop. Other people were pushing and shoving to get up front. And if you even dared to stop, you would get run over. So, we just tried to stay at the pace of everyone else. Fiancé kept holding the camera up to take pics:
And were off!:
Ahh..the Tree of Life. It was so exciting to finally see it again:
Once we reached the fork in the road, some of the herd went left and some of the herd went right. We went right towards EE of course! We were laughing by this point because it was just so funny how we were all walking in a herd. Seriously, no one was really talking. All you could hear mainly were our footsteps as they hit the pavement. It was such a weird experience.
Soon, we were in Asia:
And then we made our way into the EE line. It was so amazing to be walking on EE this early in the morning! The only sad thing about walking on is missing out on seeing all the neat stuff in line. But
once were sitting down and the ride is starting, it totally makes up for it. Fiancé and I looked at each other as our train took off. We both had big grins on our faces. This was a moment we were looking forward to. Riding one of our favorite rides again was surreal to be on without Mom and Sis.
I mentioned earlier how cold it was that day. It was FREEZING on EE! Everyone who had hoods had theirs up! I was really glad I had mine! As we were going up the steep incline, we looked out over AK and it was crazy seeing it so quiet. Were used to seeing people everywhere.
The ride itself was so much fun as always. We were getting excited to see the Yeti, yet when we got to it
it wasnt working! There were no strobe lights or anything going! Such a disappointment. When we came home, I ended up reading a DIS thread about the Yeti not working for awhile now. I really hope they get it going again!
We were on and off EE by 9:30. It was so great! We made our way through the gift shop and over to the FP line to get some FPs for later. The return time was only 10:30 am 11:30 am! This had to be the longest FP distribution line that I have ever been in. Again, Fiancé held up the camera to take a pic:
Eventually, we had our FPs in hand and then headed over to Dinoland. We took some pics along the way:
It was sort-of an overcast morning. We were really hoping that we wouldnt be getting rained on at any point of the day! Soon, we were turning and cutting through Dino-Rama.
It was really a ghost town back here! This whole getting to the park for rope drop thing was working out so far! We made our way over to Dinosaur, which was another walk on. We took our time walking up to get in line. We never have really taken the time to check out the area:
And heres a replica of Sue. I read in my Hidden Magic book that she is the largest, most complete T-Rex fossil to be found. She is named after the paleontologist who found her. The real Sue can be found at the Field Museum in Chicago:
Fiancé had to get his pic with her because she reminds him of one of his favorite movies- Jurassic Park.
The line to get on was almost non-existent. We made our way into the pre-show room and found a spot to lean on the back wall. Weve seen the movie enough times where we were saying the lines with them quietly to each other. We were cracking up by the end of it. Of course, I had to end it with Dr. Marsh aka Mrs. Huxtable with the whole The future is truly in the past and hand movement. HA. We didnt feel like trying to push and shove through the crowd, so we just waited for everyone else to clear out and then we got in line behind them.
We had a hilarious group of guys in our time rover with us. They were screaming like girls the whole ride (on purpose). We were laughing so hard. We could not wait to see the ride photo to see what they did. Two of the guys were hugging each other like they were hanging onto each other for dear life. One of the guys was ducking. And the other guy was smiling and pointing at the dinosaur like Hey, whats up?! We were all cracking up while looking at the screen.
