Day 8 - Sunday, December 24
Oh my gosh it's Christmas Eve. We are up and around early to get to MK. We split up with my parents, they decided to come later. We get the kids and ride all the rides in Fantasyland, go to Toontown and still met up with everyone in front of Castle at 11:00. Crowds weren't too bad yet. We ate lunch and did FP on Splash Mountain, then got in line for Thunder Mountain (20 minutes) We did the Tiki House, Pirates and Jungle Cruise and Hall of Presidents, and Haunted House (again). I thought we got a lot done. We headed over on the boat launches about 4:30 to Wilderness Lodge for Dinner at Whispering Canyon. This is one of our favorite places because of the atmosphere and the antics of the wait staff. Well guess what, we have a waiter that does not get into character. We still had a good time. My dad and hubby got up and did the horse rides and so did the kids. My dad was laughing so hard I thought he was going to fall down. After dinner, parents went back to room. We went back to park to see fireworks and ELP. Both were fantastic. I still had a little Santa work to finish so we left the park at closing (11). We had a hard time finding our car in the parking lot. Back home and to bed.
Day 9 - Sunday - Christmas day
Everyone is pretty tired, we didn't get up till after 8. The kids are pretty excited as Santa had come to visit. We only did gifts for the kids and not for all of the adults on this trip. However, me and hubby exchanged small gifts. We made a big breakfast in the room and took our time getting out.
We got to EPCOT about 11 a.m. PRETTY CROWDED. I talked to a lady as we were coming in and she said they were turning people away from Magic Kingdom. Boy was I glad we went the day before. Everyone split up to do their own thing at EPCOT. My immed. family toured around the World Showcase, ate at the Fastfood place in Japan for lunch, went back to innoventions, did some shopping, and bought lots of pins today. Since we were doing the Candlelight Processional, we got 15% off in the shops for that day only. We loved the lanyard and pin for purchasing the CP package.
We had CP reservations for the 2nd show, so we got in line before 6:00. Right after we got in line, (only 10 or so in front of us) the line really started getting long for the people with the CP package. We got in and had perfect seats. We were in the center on the 3rd row. WOW, what a presentation. Gary Sinise was the guest narrater. I cryed so much during this presentation. It meant so much to me, since we were not at home at our own Church for Christmas. I truly felt blessed to be there. Anyone who has not seen this, DO IT!. I thought I was the only one moved to tears from our family, but as I looked down the row, everyone had felt the specialness of the moment. Even my dad had tears.
At this point I felt as if I was the luckiest and most blessed person in the world to be experiencing this with my entire family. After this was over, we headed out to the car and back to the room. I was really starting to feel that this trip was almost over and I didn't like that feeling.
