Part 2
Cast of Characters
Me/Mom, DH, Son & Daughter
Older Brother/younger brother
Parents (64)
I failed to mention in Part 2 that this trip was a special trip for my parents in celebration of their 45th wedding anniversary. Plus, my parents are moving to Peru (18 months), last big to-do before their move.
Day 3 - Tuesday
We decide to head over to Magic Kingdom today. We go outside and check temps about 8:30. Sun is shining and slightly cool. Everyone decides to wear sweatshirts. We left jackets in the room (big mistake) but did throw the rain slickers in. We get to MK and start doing rides. Within 1 hour, the skys were black and the wind was like ice. We threw rain slickers on just to stay warm. Ended up buying hats and gloves to keep me and kids warm. We loved FASTPASS. We did all of the things in tomorrowland, then ventured over to Liberty Square. Did haunted house and then did lunch at Columbia House. Clam Chowder was excellent (& warm) We decided to get a spot in this area for Christmas Parade. By now it is raining and really cold. We wait and wait, but rain doesn't stop. They say parade is postponed. By this time we are all cold and tired and decide to start heading toward the front to leave. We are in shops on main street and parade starts. My mom rushed my daughter (6) out to see if she can see any of it. A really nice couple let her get in front of them so she was right on the street (THANK YOU!) She was so happy, even though it started raining again. She just sang and wave and smiled as big as she could.
The parade was spectacular (even with rain). It reminded me of all of those times I had watched Christmas Parade on TV wishing I was there at Christmas time, and here I was, with my whole family. What a moment, no one understood why I had tears in my eyes.
Well anyway, back to the room and warm up. We cooked dinner in the room and then went and checked out the Christmas decorations at the resorts. Grand Floridian is by far the most beautifully decorated hotel. WOW!
Day 4 - Wednesday
Freezing Cold Morning. We did not get up as early as we had planned (everyone in our group was from Pacific or Mountain Time, so getting up wasn't always easy). We still made it to EPCOT by 10:00 a.m. We got great family photos in front of the Ball. We immediately got fast passes for Test Track. We did Ellen's Universe of Energy, rode Test Track, then did Body Wars and went through the Innovations. Because we were coming back to EPCOT later in the week, we decided to get on over to Animal Kingdom.
We did Fast Passes for Safari and ate lunch at Tusker House while we waited. This is one of our favorite places to eat. We then did the safari and saw more animals then we ever had before. A giraffe practically stuck its head in our jeep. My dad was definitely impressed. We then headed over to Dinosaurs and didn't even need Fast Pass (10 minute wait) Got off of that and went to Tree of Life and Saw Tough to be a Bug. My dad thought that was a hoot. I even got a cute picture of him with bugs eyes on. We left there and went over to see the Lion King Show. We had great seats in the Warthog section. I love this show and no one else in our party had seen it before. Everyone loved it! Our kids even got to be a part of the final dance. I was so excited. It was almost park closing so we headed out and went back to room to have dinner. Went out and saw more decorations this evening. It was great.
