Our Magical "Celebration" Western Caribbean Cruise, March 7-14, 2009 ~ Completed 5/18

I am so sad that your trip report is over - thanks so much for posting, I really loved it :)

Hi Wendy :wave2:

I'm home sick today. But reading your TR has brought me such joy - and a few tears! I LOVE yout TR. It brings back such WONDERful and MAGICal memories of our recent cruise.

Thanks for making my day a bit brighter! ;)

Hope you're feeling better. :goodvibes I'm glad you enjoyed reading.

Awesome trip report, I always hate reading and writing endings, makes you feel like your cruise is ending. You are way, way ahead of me, great job. I don't know how you do it. But I have really been enjoying your report. The Dolphin Discovery sounds really cool, I hope to try that someday.

Thanks, Mike! Yes, writing the end makes me feel like I'm getting off the ship all over again. But it helps keeps the memories alive. I'm sure you'll be on another Western. Definitely check out the dolphins at Chankanaab. It is an awesome experience.

Great trip report. I love all the pictures.

Thanks for reading! :flower3:

Enjoyed your report. Thanks for sharing your trip.

You're welcome! Thanks for reading! :flower3:

I'm sad too! :sad2: Thanks for reading!

Oh Wendy! I could just feel you dragging your feet getting off the ship!
It really does end no matter how much we try to hang on doesn't it?:sad2:
I agree with you - I don't know how it can be like that! "Welcome to your vacation" one minute and ""WHAM get your buns off the boat" the next:rotfl2:
It is why we simply MUST get back on! Or at least go back to the beginning and read your TR again!
Thank you for sharing your trip. It was a really great report!:worship:

Wendy, you did a great job with this report, and I am so envious of all the wonderful pictures that you took.:worship:

Thank you for sharing with us.

Lisa, Thanks! I was actually slacking this year as I only took about 900 pictures. ;) I'm so glad you enjoyed them.

What a wonderful TR! I felt like I was there!!! We are on the same cruise in June...would you have a way to post your Navigators? I've never figured it out but I know people do. Thanks so much for a great cyber vacation!

Thanks for reading, glad you enjoyed my TR! :goodvibes Unfortunately, I do not own a scanner and have no way to scan the navigators to post. Sorry.

What a terrific report! Now I really can't wait 'til it's my turn! There's nothing like a Disney cruise, is there?

Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks! :flower3: You're right, there's nothing like a Disney cruise to lift the spirit!

I hope to have my final thoughts up soon. Life's been busy and I just can't bring myself to write anything "final." ;)

:yay: Fantastic trip report, and I enjoyed the pictures.

I knew exactly how you felt when you disembarked...I wanted to hide and do a repeat cruise. :lmao:

Excellent TR!!!

Glad you had fun, you deserve it.

You made us feel like we were sailing with you.

We also loved your door magnets.

I'm still here. :wave2:

I promise to get another update up soon. My DD is bridging from Brownies to Junior Girl Scouts tonight and since I am the leader, I am planning the entire event. It's taking up a lot of time. Also, she is out of school in about 3 weeks so we are busy doing end of year stuff as well.

Thanks for your patience! :flower3:

Thanks for reading! I had a lot of fun making the magnets, but I'm afraid I got a little carried away. Oh well, what are vacations for anyway! ;)

Loved your trip report. We did a DD Western back in September. We were scheduled to do Costa Maya (we were supposed to be the first ship back to the island) but DCL hadn't had the chance to work out the excursions so they ended up canceling that island and taking us to Grand Cayman instead. We knew it a couple of months ahead of time so although it was a bit disappointing, it ended up being not that big of a deal.

Your report brought back so many wonderful memories!!! Thanks!

Not a problem Wendy. Just glad to have read your TR....and I do have to laugh at the ending as I've been ready a few Tip threads and it seems whether you pay tips as suggested or overpay...the staff is just preoccupied with getting you off the ship. My DH thought he'd mess them once and stayed in the room with the Do Not Disturb till they opened the door and asked us to leave. :rotfl2: Of course, we were all sitting there ready but he wondered how long the "dream" could last. Can knock a guy for trying.

I'm baaaack! Whew, what a busy couple of weeks. Now, where was I? Oh yeah, the end. :sad2:

Being home for a couple of months now, I can now look back on our cruise experience with a little distance. All in all we had a very nice vacation. Once again, I wish my DD had wanted to spend more time at the Oceaneer’s Lab, but that’s just not her thing. I loved having the same stateroom and really enjoyed having the verandah and going out on it every morning to see where we were. I liked being so close to Topsiders and using the secret stairs up to deck 9. I enjoyed Palo brunch with my DH as this was one of our very few alone times together. I was fascinated by the turtles in Grand Cayman and had a blast swimming with a dolphin in Cozumel. I really enjoyed Pirate Night and the fireworks. Castaway Cay was beautiful, as usual, and I really enjoyed just hanging out. :beach: The weather for the entire week was perfect, the seas were calm and the weather at all the ports was beautiful.

Tip: One of the things that I did this year was buy “Mickey” magnet clips for the back of the door to hang our lanyards from. I will tell you that, unlike last year, I never walked out of the stateroom without my lanyard! Now, my camera, on the other hand, is another story!

What did I love most about our Disney cruise this year:

~The many varied activities offered on board. It was fun doing different things.

~The character experience is not to be matched anywhere.

~I love the Disney shows. The performers are outstanding. The fact that they can put on a show almost every night while the ship is swaying is phenomenal.

~I love being spoiled on board by having food anytime you want, my stateroom cleaned in the morning and again in the evening when my bed is turned down.

~I love DCL’s special attention to detail and service.

~I love the towel animals.

~I love how the cast members treat you like your not just there a week, but like you are there all the time.

~But, most of all I just love the feeling that you have when you’re onboard. It’ similar to the feeling I get when I’m in the parks, like the rest of the world doesn’t exist and you are transported to a special place where you can have fun and forget about your life for a while. It can only be explained as magic! pixiedust:

Thank you all for reading my trip report and all or your kind comments. I hope you had as much fun reading it as I had writing it. :flower3:

Until next time: See ya real soon! :wave2:

Hi everybody. :wave2: I know this is a Disney Cruise Trip Report thread, but I just had to come and tell you that we just returned from Yosemite and Monterey and had a fabulous time. We were supposed to take this trip last year but had to postpone it because of my treatments.

Anyway, I hope to have a trip report on the West and Caifornia thread soon. :surfweb:

Here's a sneak peak!
