The rest of my family voted for Poly instead this trip. ALthough I was thinking of switching it on them. :rotfl: Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

I would!! But that is just me... We have the WL booked for my birthday trip in September, but after reading the thread about all of the snakes at the WL, I am thinking of trying the Poly (we have never stayed there). But then again, I may go back to my old standby, the GF!!

Great TR so far :thumbsup2 I love your matching shirts...soooo cute. Great pics too and I'm thinking about doing that "disney enchanted call" for my DBF when we go. That is such a great idea!!!

The Poly has snakes too from what I've read. Another reason I think GF might be a better choice. Also we stayed at WL twice and never saw a snake! We did see ducks in the pool though. :)

You would think that living in the part of Virginia I am in, snakes wouldn't bother me. In fact, I walked into my classroom (before the kids got there, of course!) and a snake was in my floor on my reading carpet!! :scared1: I didn't know what to do, but :yay: Luckily, the male phys ed teacher was right beside my door!!! I don't know how I would have got that thing out of there without him,.....

That is a great reason to move to the GF!!! Thanks for the pixiedust: !!!

:wave2:

Day 2 - Part 2

We left Epcot with full stomachs and headed back to the GF. Unfortunately, instead of being able to relax by the pool, the rain storm that thundered into the area forced us to relax in our room. Even though the main storm passed on, we were still left with a stubborn drizzle. So, we braved the "Storm" and decided to go to DTD for some shopping.

Well, it was PACKED!!!! Apparently everyone on property had the same idea we did and headed that way as well. We had every intention of purchasing all of the major souveniers at the WoD to get our Visa savings, but we couldn't move in the stores. But, I was able to get some pretty neat pics outside the store....

So, we decided to make our way back over to the GF for dessert. However, it took forever to get a bus. We waited at the bus stop for over 40 minutes! I couldn't believe it. Needless to say, it was quite aggravating to wait that long... :furious: But, we did get back around 9:00. We gathered up some yummy desserts from the Sugar Loaf Lounge:

Yummy Lemon cakes, orange gellettes, and cream puffs...

After stuffing ourselves silly, we set a wake up call for 6:30 am, as I had a special surprise for BG the next day for his birthday!! :yay: Then, we fell asleep not long after our heads hit the pillows.

Coming Next - Day 3, BG's Birthday Surprise and the Wacky Ducks!! :wave2:

Thank you so very much for your kind words!! I am working on the next installment now, so hopefully I will have it up and running tonight. :wizard:

I am glad that your daughter enjoyed the pic. It was fun to see Stitch spitting on unkowing passerby's....

Day 3 - BG's Birthday Surprise! and the Wacky Ducks!

We had a wake up call for 6:30 am. Again, it was Stitch screaming into the speaker phone. BG had no idea why we were getting to the parks so early, so I told him that Epcot had EMH that morning. He wasn't too thrilled, as we had done Epcot the day before, and he was looking forward to opening the MK this morning. But, he does as any good DF is supposed to do, he did what I told him and got up to get ready!! :rotfl:

We boarded the monorail at exactly 7:50 am. BG wasn't too excited....but he was trying for me...

DSC00200.jpg

We excited at the TTC and walked around to board the Epcot monorail. As we were walking up the ramp, we heard the "All Aboard!" and ran to make sure we didn't miss it. Luckily, (and I use that term LOOSELY!) we made it just in time for the doors to close.... Then, we sat there......and sat there.....and sat there...... Turns out, the Silver monorail we had boarded was in need of assistance, and was not going to be able to transport us to the park....

I started to panic!!! :bitelip: We were supposed to be at the park for the Around the World Segway Tour no later than 8:15, and it was already 5 after... So, I discreetly asked the CMs standing on the platform. Kindly, I was told there was nothing they could do. The only option I had was to try to go down the ramp and hail a cab. :furious: So, I called Jason at the Sugar Loaf Concierge from my cell phone and asked him to please call Guest Relations at Epcot to let them know that we were stuck on the monorail and would be there as soon as we could. I was almost to tears, BG still not understanding WHY it was so important for us to be at THAT park, when the mule arrived to pull the monorail away. The friendly CM who mentioned the cab previously came over and whispered in my ear that in just 1 minute, another monorail would be arriving and that she has been instructed to put us on that monorail and send it on... We had our own monorail to Epcot!!

We FINALLY arrived at the park around 8:20 and booked it in the park. At this time, BG is walking around wondering why NO ONE else is in the park yet. (Luckily, he didn't pay any attention when I gave the CM at the turnstile our last name)! :stir: Arriving at GR, I told the CM behind the counter that we were late for our Segway tour. She was so nice and mentioned that Jason from the GF had called and explained the whole thing. They were waiting for us to start the tour.... it took a few minutes for it to register to BG.. then suddenly.... :yay: he couldn't contain himself anymore!! I told him, :bday: !

This tour is GREAT! I would highly recommend it to anyone. We had so much fun! The first 45 minutes was spent in Innoventions West learning to step up on the Segway, weave in and out of cones, go up and down hills, and make turns. BG has always wanted to try this tour, but so many of our trips have been so hectic, we weren't able to fit it in. Since it was his birthday trip, I wanted him to be able to try so many new things. And boy, did he love it.

After our "training session" we were able to travel into the WS before it was officially open. On the way, we all stopped off for a bathroom break.

Don't we look lovely in our helmets??

We had such a great time on this tour. We learned so many neat facts about some of the countries we "traveled" through. We found out that Morocco is the only country that still maintains the maintenance of that country in the WS. If anything needs to be fixed or painted, the King and Queen send workers to complete all of the work themselves. Also, Moroccans believe that only God can create something perfect, so when they laid the tile surrounding the fountain, they laid it perfectly. Then, they went bak and chipped and broke many of the tiles so it would not be perfect. We also learned that the King and Queen of Morocco were visiting WDW during that time. Just a neat thing to do if you can fit the tour into your vacation! :cloud9:

At the conclusion of the tour, BG was presented with a FP for any ride of his choosing, as well as a Magical Moments certificate. So, we walked over to the Land pavilion and rode Soarin' again (this is one of my favorites  ), then had lunch at Sunshine Seasons.

BG had the sweet and sour chicken with broccoli and noodles and a fruit tulip for dessert

We left Epcot to travel to the GF. BG got to ride up front in the monorail, doesn't he look happy?

We were returning to the GF because we were moving from Sugar Loaf to the Main Building. When we went up to the RPC, we were given our choice of a deluxe room or a turret room.... hard choice..... We chose the turret room. We already had our ressie for our Decmeber wedding, and had asked for a turret honeymoon room, as these rooms have a walk-in closet and I would need it with a 40 lb dress. So, I was on :cloud9:

After we were settled in our AMAZING room, we headed back over to the MK to check out the official opening of POTC. Man, was this park packed! I mean, you couldn't breathe, better yet move. the line for POTC was backed out of the queue for miles. The wait was posted as 120 minutes! So, we headed back toward Cinderella Castle to catch a showing of Cinderellabration. This is a cute show, we have seen it before. But, it is not what I consider a "must-do" at the MK. I love the princesses (I am such a kid) but once you have seen this show, you have seen the show....

This is where the "Wacky Ducks" come into the picture. We were leaning against the rail near the entrance to Liberty Square when we heard a quacking loud enough to alert the media! We turned around to see what was going on, and we saw the most hilarious duck moment ever at WDW! (And you know how crazy those ducks at WDW can be! ;) ) Two small children were eating french fries from Casey's Corner. Apparently, the children were feeding some of the ducks. One fat little ducks had decided that he deserved more than the others, so he would bite the other duck that had the french fry, the duck would sqwal and drop the fry, then the fat duck would grab the fry and take off running!! :rotfl:

Sorry the pictures are so blurry, but I was laughing so hard I couldn't hold the camera still.... :lmao:

At this point, the park was just too crowded for us. So, we returned to the GF for a light dinner in the concierge lounge. MK had EMH that evening until 2 am, so we would being returning for that.
