You might be sitting at your computer. You might be on your iPad. And if you're not, I'll bet you have your iPhone with you. Like it or not, we are steadily becoming more "plugged in" every day!

I don't own an IPhone. :)

I get what you're saying though. I am so plugged in compared to just a few years ago I sometimes wonder how the heck it all happened.

I also don't own any Apple products. However, when at home I put my cell phone down on the counter to recharge. When I go shopping, I leave it in the car. When outside doing yard work, I leave the phone inside. My life doesn't revolve around my phone or PC. People who sell phones want you to believe your life just HAS to revolve around the use of their wonderful/amazing products and I consider that more clever marketing than anything else. Funny how we somehow managed to live our lives before the days of cell phones.

My phone/tablet/computer are my "time killers". It used to be books. Now, if I'm waiting in line somewhere, I'll pull out the phone and play games/surf the net. If I'm going for an appointment somewhere, I bring my tablet and either read, watch a show, or play games.

For @_19disnA, I've used my phone while shopping to research an item/check prices elsewhere. And yes, while waiting in line to check out (before being able to put items on the conveyer, yup, here comes the phone.

I'm probably technically "addicted". :(

We are only as plugged in as we choose to be. I do not have a data plan on my phone (it’s an old but very cheap prepaid plan with calls and text only) or my iPad (WiFi only), so about half the time I am not even connected to the internet. My internet is a prepaid plan on a hotspot with 50gb per month of data, so I can’t be online all day, every day or I run out. At this time, this is sufficient for me. If I were working from home I might need more expensive plans, but for now, it encourages me not to be tethered to a device all day.

Yes, I know what you mean! I do try to unplug for large amounts of time and just go for a walk. Unfortunately, even reading now is easier with my Kindle than my beloved hard copies because my eyes are getting worse. I do love the feel of a good book in my hand, but unless I order large print, I use technology to read.

I understand what you are saying, but I carry my phone as a safety device. If DH is on the 2nd floor and I’m in the basement and trip over our valuable junk , he’d never hear me.

It's interesting, our local health club REQUIRES you to use your phone on a scanner to sign in to the club. And I've found using my phone for purchases more and more… Doesn't matter if it's an iPhone or a Motorola...

My computer is my link to the outside world much of the time. I live in a very insular small town where nothing ever happens. I need the outlet. I also do a lot of creative things on it, and it helps to keep me sane. I have friends all over the world that I keep up with on here.

I have an older iPhone, and I admit it's always here next to me on my desk. I used to leave it home when I went out, especially with my sister because it's mainly her I keep in touch with on it. One day she said to me, "if something bad happens and we're separated, you need to have your phone," so now I take it with me wherever I go for safety reasons.
