Our Live Reviews/Oct 18-25 updated LTT & B&C

Last night we ate at Wolfgang Puck Express. Just Margarita Pizzas again and cheese quesadillas. I had a sundae at Ghiardelli's.

We were suppose to do Cirque D' Solei but my son got sick. So I just headed to DTD to get us some dinner. We are suppose to go on Wed. now.

The plan today, if my son is better, which he was last night, is Epcot then over to MK. Dinner is scheduled for Kona. Can't wait to try it. We will let you know what we think.

Side note:
The dining plan is just way too much food. I have so many counter services and snacks that I know I am not going to be able to use. After breakfast yesterday at Chef Mickey's we were just not hungry at all until later that night. So we have hardly used any snacks at this point and my boys share counter service meals and the desserts for counter service well I have a bag full of cookies and brownies that we have not touched. Well I guess I will bring them home to put in the kids lunch boxes.

Well today we started the morning off at Epcot. When lunch time rolled around, my kids wanted McDonald's. Once again I only used 1 counter service and with that we got a 9 piece chicken nuggets w/large fries, diet coke and a orange and vanilla McFlurry. This meal was shared between myself, my husband and the two boys. We were trying to eat light because we had ADR tonight for Kona Cafe at 6:40. At about 1:30 my DH took my
DS4 back to the hotel for a nap and my daughter, her friend, my 7 year old and myself headed over to Magic Kingdom to hit some rides before dinner. We got there about 2:30 and by this time I was hungry. We hit Space Mountain, Stitch and The Indy Cars and then it started pouring. When the rain started we found ourselves at Columbia Harbor House (which is a place I have been wanting to try from good reviews I have read on these boards.) So this was my chance, but I didn't want to eat too much since we had
dinner reservations in 3 hours. Well since I have way too many counter services left, I decided I would get the Anchor's Aweigh Sandwich w/fries, D Coke and Chocolate Cake. I knew I wasn't gonna eat it all but I really just wanted to try it. The sandwich was very good and fresh. It was the best tuna sandwich I have had in a long time. It was very hard to stop eating it. I only ate half. My son ate the fries which were also good. They were very thick like steak fries. Neither one of us ate the cake. Well the rain stopped and we hit a few more rides. Then it was time for dinner.

KONA CAFE:

We arrived at the Poly at about 6:15. My daughter and her friend were already there waiting for us but because it was pouring rain again, my DH and DS were still trying to get there. So, I waited to check in until my ressie time of 6:40. I was then given a pager and it only took about 5 minutes until we were seated. My DH and DS were still not there but very close. They were on the bus and on their way. So I went ahead and ordered their drinks and their appetizers. Our server was the best of the trip. Her name was Jean and she was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Here is what we ordered:

Myself: sticky wings (awesome), prime rib, mashed potatoes and broccoli (best meal I have ever had on Disney property.) For dessert I had the Kona Cone. I was so full but managed to finish off this cone. It was so good but I love ice cream.

DH: crab cakes, Filet and Kileau Torte and White Chocolate Cheesecake ( I will explain the two desserts).
He liked the crab cakes but loved my wings, he liked the Filet but loved my prime rib and he ordered the Kileau Torte but our server saw that he wasn't eating it. He told her he did not like it and she insisted on bringing him another dessert (even though he told her not to worry about it about 10 times.) So she brought him the White Choc Cheesecake which he really enjoyed. Overall he liked his meal but wished he would have ordered what I ordered.

DD: Well since my 16 year old eats like a 5 year old, I told her to order the Kona Salad as her app since I knew she wouldn't eat anything on the menu that way I could try it. I took a bite but really didn't care for it. She ordered Macaroni and Cheese and she had the Kona Cone for dessert. She loved her meal.

DD best friend: Sticky wings, Prime Rib and Kona Cone. She ate every bite and really loved her meal.

DS7: Strawberry and banana smoothie (which I tried and it was very good) grilled cheese sandwich and kid sundae. Once again, he loved his meal and ate it all.

DS4: Chicken fingers and fries and kids sundae. He loved his meal.

Kona is my new favorite resturant at Disney. It blows Ohanas away. I am glad I finally got to try it and can't wait to go back. Sorry this was so long.

. . . and the great live reviews continue. Thanks!

My family and I tried Kona Cafe on a whim last year (got a last minute ADR) and loved it. Thought it was funny that your DH had "dinner envy".

Can't wait to read your next installment. Your reviews have gotten me excited for our trip, which starts in 4 days.

Today we went to Typhoon Lagoon all day and had a ball. Breakfast was just cereal in the room. For lunch we headed over to Leaning Palms. DH and I had chicken wraps. DH loved it and I thought it was just okay. The boys had cheese pizza, which was good. We had mickey bars and ice pops for desset.

Ohanas

We had a 7:25 adr. We arrived about 5 minutes late. We were seated at 7:45. We had a really nice table overlooking the castle. Our server was very good. My two boys and my DD16 ordered mac and cheese, grilled cheese and chicken fingers because they won't eat what is served. The salad was excellent. My DD best friend and I ate two bowls of it. The wings were very good. We all enjoyed them. My Dh really enjoyed the shrimp and I thought they were very good also. We didn't care for the sausage. We all thought that the turkey was the best. The steak was just okay. It was a little tough. None of us tried the pork. Of course the bread pudding and ice cream is awesome and we had no problem stuffing that in.

We have only 3 days left, about 24 counter services and 36 snack credits. We need to get eating.

Today we had MNSSHP and dinner at LTT. I will report back soon.

Can't wait to hear more! We were there at Epcot on Sunday as well and my daughter was at the Poly at the Neverland Club. It was a beautiful resort; never stayed there.

Glad to hear you liked Kona....we may try it sometime too!

Have fun!!

On Tuesday, Oct 23rd we did MNSSHP. We had a 5:25 ressie for LTT. We arrived about 5 minutes early. We were seated in about 5 minutes. Our server was Michael. He was very nice but he would just disappear for long periods of time. The salad and the rolls and butter were excellent. I am so glad that they brought back the honey butter. I love that stuff. The mac and cheese was a hit with my kids. We really loved the turkey. The flank steak was good. None of us tried the ham. The stuffing is just okay, the mashed potatoes and gravy are awesome and so were the green beans. The dessert was apple cobbler and ice cream which was wonderful. We had a great meal here and it remains one of our favorite meals at Disney. Also, The characters came around several times.

BTW: MNSSHP was great as usual. This is our fifth year in a row attending the party. The parade gets better every year and this year was the best by far. The fireworks are awesome as always and they give out way too much candy. When we were leaving they were handing out about 5 king size packs of Hersey Mini Kisses to each person. There were alot of people in the park. Alot of people dresses up. The rides were all walk ons though. I think alot of people just go for the trick or treating and the entertainment and no so much the rides.

10/24 Beaches and Cream

Today we slept in because of the haloween party. We went to the pool and swam for a while. Then we headed over to Beaches and Cream for a late lunch. We got there at about 2 p.m. and were seated in about 10 minutes. We had onion rings, cheeseburgers and fries. The onion rings were very good and I still think they have the best cheeseburgers around. For dessert my DH got a peanut butter sundae, I had the Fudge Mud Slide (which was awesome as usual), DD had the brownie ala mode, which she loved and the boys had a mickey sundae. They used to just give the kids a cookie with their meal but I like the sundae much better. Still a favorite of ours.

Tonight we had tickets for Cirque D Solei. It was incredible. My DH really loved it and so did my boys. My 4 years old sat in amazement the entire time. I couldn't stop watching his face. It was priceless.

After the show, we went to Wolfgang Puck Express again to get some pizza. We had the same old thing.

We we leave tommorow night. We still have 18 snack credits and 11 counter service. We need to get eating. Wish us luck. Talk to you all later.

So excited about Cirque, we're going to see it for the first time next month!!

Jen, awesome reviews. Thanks for taking the time to do them realtime. I love Beaches and Cream. If you guys are flying you can always use your cs credits to get premade sandwiches for the flight home. We also dined around the world our last time there on our last night. We used one counter service at 4 or 5 places and split each one between the three of us. It was fun. Thanks again.
