Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Hmmm:scratchin....we got the room assignment when we booked with the TA (Dreams Unlimited). If you booked on a special price you may not get your room assignment right away...I know you can request a certain room. Friends of ours did. :)

Also there is no picking meals per se, you get your dining rotation when boarding the ship. So on a three night we get to try all the sit down restaurants once. One of those nights is Pirate night also when they do the big fireworks show. pirate:

We did add ground transfers from Port to resort but not to worry it can be added anytime. In fact we took a while to decide that part of it all. There is lots to learn about DCL, you may find yourself over on the cruise boards a lot!:rotfl: They are a friendly bunch over there, which is nice.::yes::

Ok. I booked it myself. I found Dreams Unlimited to be less than helpful. I booked a regular rate room. It's probably in my reservation...I'll have to look into it.

We are in the 1st seating for meals...I figure we can do date night on the ship, then we are not having to shell out more for that and kids club. :thumbsup2

I've been peeking at the Cruise Board...

You can change your cabin when you sign in. However, these cruises are likely almost at full capacity and you might have a guarantee right now, which means you are guaranteed that category or better but there's no stock for you to choose from.

I just logged back into my reservation and we have room # 8096, which is smack dab in the middle of the ship. I'm happy with that! :cool1:

I have been pricing out 4 night cruises. I have to nail down when we're actually going before I can solidify any cruise pricing for us. :rolleyes1

I looked at the 4 night too, but I think 3 nights is good to get our feet wet...and seeing if we like it....again, we've never done this before. It's going to be crazy!!!!!!:cool1:

Plus, I am excited that we get to try two resorts that we didn't want to commit a whole 10 nights to (but DH doesn't want to split either)...this way we get around the split loophole and he is ok with it!

:wave2: Good Morning, RCers! :grouphug:

Our August trip has gained a night (now we're up to 11 nights....) AND we added a 3 night CRUISE!!!!!! :faint:

So now, we are 8/16 - 8/21 at AoA, then 8/21 - 8/24 on the Disney Dream to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay and then 8/24 - 8/27 at AKL CL!!!!!

We are thrilled!!!! DH and the kids have wanted to do the cruise for awhile but I've been very hesitant but....this is going to be an amazing adventure for our family! So excited! pixiedust:

What an amazingly awesome change and a GREAT way to do a 'split stay'. :woohoo:
When I read about your cruise last night, I literally laughed out loud (I had just been bothering DH with the PRO/CON lists between WL and AKL). He asked me what was funny and I told him I found a solution to my resort changing problems - add a cruise! He was quiet for a moment and then said "No, because then you'll be driving me crazy with trying to switch ships!" :)

:dance3: For those at WDW right now!
:cheer2: To those doing the countdown dance
pixiedust: For everyone else, like me, hoping for the magical room (or boat) to come by!

Couldn't sleep last night :faint: so followed the link to pod cast (thanks Wookie) and it's not me! Cause I'm not a moderator and also haven't been on the disabilities thread! Wow, another SueM!!! That's scary :rotfl2:

I just took the plunge and booked air for our late August trip. Wasn't planning on it, before our January trip, was just fooling around on Kayak.com to look at what fares are doing when I found Alaska had their non-stop flights both ways at the times I like ( they have 2 non stop daily) for a great fare from Seattle, $368 RT incl tax. Don't hate me Marie!!! So, what's a girl to do :confused3 book it! But it does make paying off the January trip tight, ugh!
Of course will have to factor in overnight hotel in Seattle going cause our flight leaves at 8:40, so have to be at airport at 7:00 am, which would mean I'd have to leave my house by 3:00 am no thanks! Best to go the day before! Same coming home. We leave MCO at 6:30ish PM so late Seattle arrival. The hotel we use gives free parking.

Now to wait and see what deals come out for late August/Sept. Poly is in my sights :scratchin. I can deal with possible volcano pool closure if they are providing water shuttle to GF. We love the beach pool at GF. We'll see. Maybe I'll get a good BB in January!

I don't blame you about Edmonchuck!! I only visited once a few years ago in July, to see my husbands Aunt. But didn't like it much. To be fair, I didn't see much, I was around the hospital area mostly. Just wasn't a pretty city IMO. You'll be back!!
I remember her winter visits here, I was usually the one to go to the airport. She never could get over how green everything was here in winter!

Soooo I may or may not be pricing out an RPC stay. I don't even know who I am anymore.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Celebratin' right along with ya!!! (I HATE the Yankees...HATE!!!)

So, as it turns out, RPC is VERY hard to snag with the TA discount. :worried:
