Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

OMG! That's so funny! BOG and Via Napoli are the two of mine that I won't touch! The others have been moved over and over.

We have Garden Grill planned for our first night and it's the one I'm most uncertain of. It's my family and my sister's family. The kids are 6, 10, and 12. None of us have ever been to a character meal before and I'm not sure if the kids will be into it or will think it's silly. I'm nervous about it. And, it's my sister's family's first on-site stay so I want their first meal to be special. ???

Coincidentally it was our first character meal back in 2006. Kids were 7 and 14. We had a blast! Loved the character interaction! It's chip, Dale, Micky and Pluto in farmer's type outfits.As you know, the restaurant slowly revolves. There is not a lot of room, but also you are not out in the open, so if the kids are a little shy, there is not a ton of people looking on, KWIM? As to the meal, we enjoyed it (it is served family style).

And what one would do at home is so different in Disney! Even my DH was captured with a smile when Chip came over. It's all good fun. You can take it as much as you want or not pose at all for pix. The kids (especially the 6 year old) may want to have an autograph book in hand. )

Only between trips... then it's game on.
I admit, it was a lot easier to do without when we lived in Hawaii - we went Dole Whip CRAZY while there... never at the plantation (too pricey). The places off the beaten path had ones that were amazing!!!

That makes me feel better about switchign things around. Also, this leaves our resort night free so I'm thinking after lunch at Sanaa we'll just hit the pool and grab food when LO goes for a late nap from QS and sit on the balcony and eat. Honestly, sounds so much more restful! We also are debating if time is good heading to Trails End and trying to catch Wishes from that area. And we have friends staying at WLV that same week (totally a coincidence!) so maybe we'll get the kids together and hit up the campfire!

Ever After is one of my FAVES!!!! DD never really cared for it but last time I watched it she was enamored. Love both Angelica Huston and Drew Barrymore... and Dougray Scott... He's my Prince Charming (DH is okay with that since he lacks an accent)

Not much news on the vacation front. We're 102 days out now (double digit dance soon!) and just waiting for our FP+ window to open.

Fun Memorial Day Weekend! YAY!

OOOH, if you're almost to double digits, I'm right behind you! YAY! Your good news means mine's on the way!

So, in November we booked WL CL on a bounceback for this upcoming September. Then we changed it to BCR CL. Then we changed the week. Then we changed it back. Then we changed to POR. Then we changed back to BCR CL. Then we changed to WL Free Dining. Last week we changed to BCR Free Dining.

Do I qualify for this thread???

GG is on our MUST DO list every trip... I'm actually bummed it won't make the cut in Dec. DH is NOT a character person but he loves GG because the food is AYCE but brought to you v buffet, we have always had good meals there, and the characters are great! Lots of interaction! Last trip Pluto visited DD 3 times and Mickey gave high fives every time he walked by. We're headed there our first night in Sept and I'm so ready!!!


In the last 24 hours, my fam has been sending their ADR requests and the "want to" lists for Dec. We also decided on Biergarten for Christmas Eve and Cape May for Christmas Dinner. I'm hoping to get 1900PF for Christmas Brunch, then T-Rex on our final dinner. Other than that, it's free for all. MIL was trying to have everyone eat together for dinner but DH nixed that -- too much time and not enough variety for the group.

• 
  Dis SIL has a great list set up of places to eat and we're going to be doing H&V lunch with her crew (which will be all 3 kiddos) so that will be fun.

• Non-Dis SIL has 3 Signature places on her list so we'll see if she has to pare down at all... thoughts on Jiko, Narcoosees, and Brown Derby? I haven't eaten at any so I'm not a good reference.

• MIL refuses to put up suggestions (other than the ones the group voted on) so I might have to just pick some for her and see how it plays out. Then, I need a nap!!!!

Funny coincidence! I'm pretty much dead set on Via Napoli (love Sangria and can't wait to try it!) and BOG since it's new and we would be silly to miss it! I'm also a huge Beauty and the Beast fan so I can say I'm excited.

I think the biggest problem is that I want to hit all the restaurants we haven't been too, but then to also keep DD in mind as well.

I was disappointed to find out that Mickey's Philarmagic is closed the week we are there. I guess this means we'll need to come back!

One other thing, we're scheduled to have breakfast at the Wave the first morning we're there. DH had mentioned maybe going to Boma instead?!?! Decisions, decisions!

Funny coincidence! I'm pretty much dead set on Via Napoli (love Sangria and can't wait to try it!) and BOG since it's new and we would be silly to miss it! I'm also a huge Beauty and the Beast fan so I can say I'm excited. I think the biggest problem is that I want to hit all the restaurants we haven't been too, but then to also keep DD in mind as well. I was disappointed to find out that Mickey's Philarmagic is closed the week we are there. I guess this means we'll need to come back! I liked the a Wave for breakfast. the kids definitely preferred more chaos! Lol.

I just snagged a BOG (after originally thinking we wouldn't do it for dinner this time, but DD loves the beast) for 9pm on the day we were going to do HS...uh oh...changing things again!! We may need to do PH...

Tried to upgrade me and Lys to even more seats on JetBlue and a glitch occurred and one of us was in front and one in the back. After trying on very device at home I went to our office and tried to no avail there. Finally had to call and have it fixed

Good news is now we are in row 2 and will deplane and "walk like rope drop time" to our ME

Gonna run to the office and spend time with dh. Ly and I will have a 75 min drive to the airport and will depart 12:30-1pm.

Have a good weekend and have fun planning.

TGIF Peeps!!

I told DH the tale of the wandering Dimndgal1: I went to activate tickets and found myself with Glow with the Show Ears, eating a Dole Whip, singing along to Wishes. He didn't get it... perhaps because it seems all too possible?

Nope, its because he's a man. And he probably won't remember the tale, so "change" it slightly and go for it!!

Your last quote made me think of the line from Ever After (a fave movie!!!) where Angelica Huston's character says "Nothing is final until your dead, and even then I'm sure God negotiates." Nothing in RC world is final until you check in... and even there the CM negotiates!!!

Haven't seen the movie - Now I have to! And yes great line for us RCers!

Nice! We have done VN twice and BOG 4 times (In the same year!!) We are huge Beauty & the Beast fans also. My DS (who is 22 now) LOVED the beast and DD loved Belle... sigh, that seems so long ago!!

Totally get wanting to explore new restaurants, yet keeping favs. That's too bad about Mickeys Philarmagic and yes, a good reason for a return!! (like we need one!) Haven't been to the Wave or Boma for breakfast (dinner only). Both are so different and we want to try both. Will you be able to get to AK easily? Forgot if you have a car).

Just wanted to pop in, while things are quiet at nap time, and say hello. Hopefully, I can get caught up on at least stuff from this week tonight. We had a great trip. The final mileage put on the minivan was 5,024. We went through Texas (of course), New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.
We had a great time at DL, it just didn't feel as magical to me as WDW feels. We even scored last minute Blue FPs from a CM as they were setting up for World of Color. My back had been hurting me, and then we got on the Matterhorn. It tossing me around popped my back and made it feel so much better.

Well, I'm going to keep the Wave then! It's hard NOT to look though, and Boma isn't even close to being full so if we want to change we can.

Changed the CSR part of our split to POR. I feel much better about the split now. Promised my TA no more changes. ;-) Then asked if he needed it in writing. Lol.

Need to plan some DTD time now! And maybe finally eat at Raglan Road!!
