Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Hehehe...I've been pricing out Poly CL / WL CL or GF / WL CL. Hmmm...

:worship: I've never done Marathon weekend, but I LOVE AKL. I think the buses will be just fine :thumbsup2 The tradeoff...animals!!!

Thanks for that feedback - it will be really cool to be able just to see the animals all the time! Can you see them at night at all?

Marathon weekend is so much fun! It's got a lot of energy and the races are all run (no pun intended) really well. I def'ly recommend it!

I'm hoping I can finish it. I'm going to train really hard & do my best. I think I will get us AK CL when I book. I've always wanted to try it and I have been reading good things on the other boards, plus it comes with the Savannah view then. Neither of us has stayed @ AK ever, so that should be great!

The cure for my obsessing about resort changing is apparently to just schedule a second trip :rotfl:

Good Morning from New Smyrna Beach!

Hubby is out fishing with a friend, and the kiddos are still fast asleep! I feel so blessed  Peace and quiet!

Good grief....does this mean you're at the GF.....again. Perhaps I missed it, but is there a why? Or, you just got an inkling to change again

Poly CL is oh so nice!!! The GF is beautiful and the WL is fabulous, too. Ya can't go wrong with any of these!!! Are you trying to stay close to the MK??

AKL is a fab resort with TONS to do. My kids loved it!!! You can see the animals at night with the night vision goggles. They have an area set up with cast members to assist you. If you would like to see pics, click on the TR in my signature. I get a little snap happy when on vacation...my RC peeps can confirm this :upsidedow

Best of luck!!! :thumbsup2 Disney always does it right! Several years ago I signed up to do the Princess Half, but while training messed up my knee...so no more long distance running for me. You should have an awesome time!!!

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday morning :goodvibes

Long story short....

I was very close to changing the dates of our trip to go earlier in August because our stupid school calendar wasn't out yet and I was afraid our trip would overlap with the 1st few days of school....

Well, in our family discussions, we discussed that we would have to go back to the military discount instead of the TA discount (which is date sensitive) and asked if they wanted to stay at the Beach Club....they both were like BEACH CLUB!?!??! I thought we were at the Grand Floridian??? And both proceeded to tell me about how they got excited about the GF, and thought that's where we were staying. They said if we stay at BC it will be like the trip last year at YC. Soooooooo, I switched back to GF. And, it's PIF! End of story, done! :cool1:

I personally wanted to be in the MK area and finally stay at a monorail resort (wanted Poly, but you know.....next year).

Oh! And....I cancelled our cruise for next year!!!! :faint:

We are just going to do our normal 10 nights in Feb or April instead...prob Apr so we can finally get our Poly stay!!!

Planning on a 7 night eastern caribbean in Feb 2016 though...:p

Yeah to GF! :-) so did you change resorts and not dates then?

LOVE Poly, but I think I've said that before... :-)

Heather - yes, we like the MK area for sure since that's really where we spend the majority of our trip. :-) SO much easier transportation wise...

Nope! Dates stayed the same, 8/16 - 8/26. We have a GV room at GF. All is good! :goodvibes

Crossing fingers that the Poly pool will be done by April next year. :bitelip:

We were in Tokelau last year, so we never even ventured over to the volcano pool. We just used the quiet pool every day and it was lovely. :-)

You can get night vision glasses from the CMs, but yes you can see them. By the pools in Kidani there is a lookout and my son and hubs spent an hour talking to the CM there. Very cool!!!My friend did the Princess Half and had a blast (also spent 8 hrs in the YC hot tub after that) She did it all for the medal pixiedust:

Any morning with a Heather pic is a good morning! Enjoy my friend  :offtopic: but we are driving down August 16th and I planned on stopping in Ga....just sayin..hotels you may recommend ;)
Heather beautiful pic! Up at sunrise as usual I see
:goodvibes That's our Heather (and Kook is our other earlybird)

Thanks. She really is a great girl. I just found out today that she has been purging. I should have known she was doing something since she only weighs 95 lbs.
These kids know how to fly under the radar, don't blame yourself  Hope your friend was able to straighten all that court crap out!

Heather I must say I love it when you are on vacation .... really enjoy your daily morning pictures .... what a nice thing to get up too! :cloud9:

I like everything except CG, it's been getting meh reviews. Although I rarely do TS :rolleyes1 Is it the babysitting you are nervous about? If so, I get it. I would do Narcoosee's especially for Wishes, however the reviews are mixed for that as well....if not for Wishes, I'd opt for Artist pointe or Citrico's. Keep MM, that's a toughie to get!!!:goodvibes

The Disney website does not judge, thank goodness :rotfl2:

Yeah, Kids Nite Out was the service I was thinking of using. The minimum is 4 hours, so I was thinking of doing W.S before our dinner reservation. I would have DD fed and in her jammies before the sitter came. The problem I have is someone that I don't know well is in our hotel room. Am I being an overly protective mother? Maybe...

And Cali Grill is a tradition for us, so we'll keep that. I would LOVE to try Artist Pointe or Citricos! :thumbsup2

Of course you are being an overprotective mother, but it's all good! At your DDs age, she will have fun I bet...and most likely be asleep when you return from dinner! :flower3:

Ok, so after doing Disney math and all, I have decided to stay put at WL CL for all 6 nights. :-) we won't see the 4th of July fireworks, BUT that's ok. :-) I don't really like moving either once I get unpacked and settled, so...yeah. Just thought I would share. :-) I may play with some ADRs though. ;-)

My DH is the same way. Once we are checked into a WDW resort, he doesn't want to change resorts. We never unpack though, so I don't see the problem in changing resorts. We just grab clothes out of the suitcase.

Happy Hump day peeps!!

Janet... thanks for the birthday wishes for Jessman!

You're welcome! :)

That stinks. Maybe you can grab lunch there? The friend I am going with in September didn't want to eat there, so I haven't had to try and get an ADR there since this last September. I was really surprised I was able to get an ADR on the night of MNSSHP.

Kim
, I was able to score a BOG for a MNSSHP nite last Sept (2 days out), a primetime slot too.:) P.S. Linda has been to BOG for lunch and really likes it (especially the pork dish). :thumbsup2

As Pas posted, kids often fall under the radar and even those closest to them don't see it for what it is. Continued good wishes for her recovery.:flower3:

Awesome!! Good luck on your training and the race. Last january we were there over Marathon weekend (stayed at POR). Some day I'll like to try it (probably should start with the 5K one :))

Overprotective, we all have been there... but you will be okay, try to relax and enjoy your adult time. :)

:yay: Congrats Krystal! WL CL sounds perfect...a beautiful and peaceful settting amidst a busy Disney time (and the holiday weekend too! :) Being settled, and relaxed help make for a nice vacation. :goodvibes
