...for some reason I am feeling unsettled about our Sept trip. I don't know what it is. I really like WL, but I think part of me wants a split-stay... but I can't figure out where.

I think my problem is every time I price out an option I feel guilty about spending more money for Sept with Dec on the horizon. DH has said money for Dec will be coming from the 'fund' we set aside for trips to his family for Christmas (they are in rural Rockies so $$$$ flights so we save up independent from vacation fund) but I just feel selfish upgrading our Sep trip. BLEH!!!

I love this post! You sound like me! We love split stays and think the time it takes to get our stuff to a new resort is entirely worth the transportation/location convenience that results. In other words, we do an MK resort and spend lots of time at MK (if it's a longer trip we do AK then too) then we transfer to an Epcot resort and spend our time at Epcot and DHS. Since I love Epcot so much, we usually end up going there throughout the trip, but fit in our California Grill/Artist Point/Narcoosees ADRs while we're in the MK area.

We're still sticking with Poly for our quick surprise trip at the end of this month and I don't want to change resorts, but I want to change SOMETHING! Upgraded to CL already, so that's set. Changed ADRs as a result of the CL upgrade. Then just today, decided to stay a little longer on departure day so the kids could get snacks in the lounge before the drive back to my parents' beach condo. Now what to change???

I like the changes so far!!!!

On our CL balcony we were watching fireworks having wine (beer for DH) and across my head...a bat. I screamed like a maniac. DH laughed his butt off..

Love WL, but we did a split last August, GF/YC, and my daughter didn't want to leave GF for YC ( the poor deprived thing) but we were surprised how much we loved GF!! I wish I had booked more nights there. And last Aug rate there was better!!!

Last year's rate at GF was better!!

YES - exactly this! I feel like this trip CALLs for a split-stay!!! And I'm itching to do SoMeThInG!!!



I think it was here a few pages back, but can say I am pretty sure WL will have bats as SoG has bats. They did a good job of trying to keep them away from the rooms but DH and I watched them fly over the golf courses one night.
The lodge we would go to for my family reunions in Kentucky had 'bat rooms' - you could only tell by residue v. actually seeing them (unless you would go out on the porch randomly in the middle of the night). Most of the time they would just hang out away from any occupied rooms - they are not fans of the populous!

I've changed to WL CL ...bats and all!! And added a night. So it's YC CL for 5 nights then on 8/27 over to WL CL for 2 nights..... booked on Orbitz!!

That's my other issue...
I like the idea of CR TPV for a few nights (especially since we will be back in room to see fireworks Friday night). I really enjoyed YC when we stayed there and with a pool day and an 0800 Akerhaus, SAB would be nice. I like the pool at AKL and think it would be fun to do AKL first, then move to WL. Even considering doing CSR or CBR for a few nights then moving to WL - CL.

I think the issue is 7 nights at one resort feels like a lot for this RCer. I'm sure we'll enjoy wherever we are but I feel an itch to expand!!!

A split between MK and Epcot seems to fit with your plans..why not stay 5/2? is Akerhous towards the end of the trip?

I'm off on Spring Break, so older dd & I went to see it this afternoon! I was so surprised to see the old Mickey & Minnie cartoon short before movie!!

WL CL! That's on my bucket list! Can't wait to hear about your stay! Unfortunately for my husband (who does not love Disney) my bucket list has changed from all mods/all deluxes (will have done that by January with a GF stay) to trying more CLs.

I think CL is most important to us for family trips because of the convenience with the kids. If traveling with just adults, I might opt for a split stay rather than CL because it's easier to get around and try out new places. Without CL and all adults/teens, we'd be in all sorts of fun places, like the territory lounge, tambu lounge and tutto gusto, for example! But with kids along, that CL is so convenient!!! How about both a split stay and CL?

Even though my husband isn't coming along with us (he will stay back at my parents' condo and work for a couple days) I think it would be pushing his disney tolerance to stay longer. Still fun to check availability!

Love all these summer YC trips! Pas, great split!!! Those two CLs are at the top of my CL bucket list, right after RPC! I think YC CL is more likely because we love the epcot area so much, but I can definitely see WL CL as part of a split stay! Last year on Magical Express, we stopped at WL on the way to Poly and everyone was feeling nostalgic.

I totally priced out RPC!! But it would have meant me and the girls in RPC and the boys in a GV room to keep the budget LOL..plus by late August it may be in the GF pools...I love the serenity at WL! GF has it, but with the Villas I don't know if it will have the same feel...and it is always fun to check availability. Nice to "see you" by the way. Your SAB have totally jazzed my kiddos for YC

hmm... well, Sam did want to stay at FQ and part of me has a hankering to go to POP. but as of today still holding at YC....WL sound soo nice (and we are planning on EMH at MK on Sunday.....)

*thinks* Wed is pool day, Thurs is MK/EP, Fri is Akerhaus/HS PM so YC would fit PERFECTLY if we moved over Wednesday - could check out and head to lunch at Sanaa and then head to YC after (hopefully meet our bags). My thought had been to do Poly Beach for Wishes Wed night but walking the Boardwalk might be fun, especially since we will have seen Hallowishes Tues..... hmmmmm

I would love to do both but I'm trying to come in a little less than expected so I can convince DH on a girl's weekend in Disney in the Spring before we move... wherever. We're set to head out in late April/May so my thought is to send DH ahead to scope out/settle and give our household goods a headstart while the girls and I head down for a few days at the Mouse. We'd probably do SoG that trip and it would be super simple but it's a lot easier to sell if I can hold back in Sep. If....... I'm also scared going CL will get us hooked and DH is already grumpy about tasting the Deluxe water - totally ruined us!!!

Well silly me .... I leave CA on the 15th and check in at CSR on the 16th. But you did have me rushing to check my confirmation to make sure I did that right!

DD's favorite mod is CSR and I'm split between CSR and POR. I think I like CSR for the summer and POR for the winter.

Hi RCers: It is so good to "see" you all. I bounced around quickly here trying to catch up but I am hopeless behind. Life has been crazy here to say the least. Mom's been sick, and I've had a house full of company for 2 weeks now, including a 17-month old.

It seems like forever ago already since our WDW trip back at the beginning of this month. I guess that means time to plan another WDW trip. Here's my mini-review of our GF trip:

The weather was good and crowds were low and fine. Magic Bands worked perfectly this time in every way. DH was a good little race car driver and survived his Rookie Experience ride. Dining: Shula's was truly first rate, Tokyo Dining was awesome (thanks KOOK!) and a great Illuminations spot. We made a last minute switch away from CG to Narcoossee's. I liked it and am glad we went, especially the convenient GF location and Wishes, but I just wasn't wow-ed for the price paid. The first night we met my aunt and uncle offsite for dinner at Jr's, then went to POR to see "you-know-who" entertain.

At GF: we had a fifth floor room in convenient Bldg 9, Big Pine Key near both pools. Our view was of POLY GCH over to the GFV and the Chapel and GV pool. The best part was that no POLY construction was visible. The pine trees two rooms over to our left blocked all that dreck. We did have a major snafu with a security issue with our room, but all turned out well in the end and nothing was taken from us. In my opinion, this interim old decor & furnishings paired with the newer white linens with blue runner is just positively ugly, dare I say the worst looking room interior on WDW property. . Thank goodness the outside of the resort and the hallways and public spaces are so pretty. Since we had no such luck on a newly rehabbed room, it just means more reason to go back again to GF, I say. We are already booked GF SL for the same time next spring as DH decided that GF overtakes POP as his new favorite resort. He's such a spazz with his resort likes!

Now of course I'm looking at ADRs again...

I have CRT booked for lunch, but since we're on the DP, I might switch to dinner? I do really like the beef tenderloin and love the picture of Cinderella with the kids...BUT, maybe it'd be better to try Akershus for dinner this time around?? And catch any of the other princesses DD wants to see in the parks...? Figure we'll need to do 2 times through FairyTale Hall for Elsa and Anna and Rapunzel...? And maybe try and catch Tinkerbell and Jasmine elsewhere...? Akershus would probably be more cost efficient...and we HAVE done the castle many times before...

Hmm...

So then what to do with our other TS credit...? Yak and Yeti for lunch at AK? Tony's at MK? 1900 Park Fare dinner? Or try somewhere new like OHana for dinner? Or Liberty Tree tavern for lunch?
