We just returned from another great Disney trip. This was our last time on the dining plan (DDP) as my twins are nine and after this year will be considered adults. My kids are VERY light eaters and enjoy typical "kids" food so the DDP will not be worth it after this year. Here's my review of the restaurants we ate at. Just my opinion, please don't take offense if I didn't like any of your favorites...
Le Cellier--we were finally able to snag a lunch reservation this year a couple of days before our trip. I was not at all impressed. I did not like the decor which I thought was shabby nor did I enjoy the food. DH and I had the mushroom filet which was decent but the risotto was awful...much too salty! We also did not like the famous cheddar cheese soup. Pretzel bread was good though. Perhaps dinner is better but I won't be going there to find out!
Tonga Toast--yuck, yuck, double yuck. Maybe the fact that we got it as a CS from Captain Cook's had something to do with it tasting so awful. It looked like old banana's shoved into some fried dough. Cinnamon/sugar coating was gross too. I'll take a Mickey waffle over this!
Grand Floridian Cafe--as always, the food was good. The GF burger was great. A large, perfectly cooked, tasty beef patty topped with asparagus, lobster and bernaise sauce. I hope it is always on the menu!
Crystal Palace--ate here for the breakfast buffet. Once again, we weren't hungry until dinner. Great food selection and it was so nice to enter the park early.
Dole Whips from Aloha Isle--yum. The Dole float with vanilla/pineapple was great! One float is enough for two to share. A great use of a QS credit!
Main Street Bakery--had a cinnamon roll the size of my head which is probably the best of all the cinnamon rolls in the park but just o.k. in my opinion. My DH liked the ham and cheese croissant. The regular croissant is really buttery and flaky too.
Tangierine Cafe in Epcot's Morocco--a great Shwarma platter that the whole family shared. A lot of food and quite tasty!
Room Service from Narcoossee's--one night we were super tired and did not feel like going out to dinner (cancelled 'Ohana). We were going to bite the bullet and use two room service credits for pizza but were told that we could order from ANY restaurant at our resort. We ordered steak and lobster for the adults and steak dinners for the kids from Narcoossee's. We were also able to order great desserts as well because it was part of the plan. The food was excellent and we ate in our p.j.'s and got to see the water show on the lagoon as well as the MK fireworks. The cost of the dinner was almost as much as we paid for the entire DDP! My kids liked this meal the best!
That's it for this trip. I'm so sad that it is over!
