Our Last 1 Bedroom Villa and the Twinfants’ First Trip to the Castle!

Love, Love, Love your running costume! If I had known a year ago people make and sold them I would have been all over that! Here is my pieced together one from a Halloween 10k, yours looks 1000 times better!

Um, I don't think so... that costume is FABULOUS!!!! I am so inspired :)

OK quick progress update--I got the grocery order over to Amy at WeGoShop. I decided I'd need some mocktails so I went a little crazy on the juices and drink accessories... quick excerpt...
  • Cranberry Juice
  • 1 L Diet Tonic Water
  • Limeade (frozen in can if available, if not, fresh)
  • Lemonade (frozen in can if available, if not, fresh)
  • Watermelon
  • Mint leaves
  • 2 L Club soda (1L if not available)
  • Cream of Coconut
  • Fresh Ripe Pineapple or if not available pineapple juice
  • Grenadine Syrup

I may not be drinking booze, but I promise I'll be drinking :) Preview:

I'm glad the villas have blenders because mine just took a dive.

The weather in Orlando has been a bit bleak according to pictures sent by other Feb trippers... but just to give you an idea of how cold it has been here, I went to open our garage to let our babysitter in this am and I said to my husband "It's so warm!!!"

He replied "It's 20 degrees"

And I said "doesn't it feel so warm?"

He replied "well, yeah, by comparison..."

Then he called me from his car on his way to work. "I figured out those loud bangs you keep freaking out about. Look at the cans of pop we have in the garage."

I should have taken a picture of the aluminum debris. It is hysterical. One by one, at least 1/4 of the cans succumbed to physics and exploded.

We've been in the single and negative digits all week; I look like I am heading out on an arctic expedition every AM. The underground walkway from my building to the parking garage that I use is so cold it feels like you are outside--so who KNOWS what it feels like outside! It's so cold that the parking garage gets warmer the lower you go underground and away from the doors. So I promise to appreciate 30 degrees if I have to.

That said, this weekend is packing! I know I'll basically just be going with a few layered outfits, since we will inevitably do laundry at least twice while we are there. With sloppy little toddlers, it's easy to always have a load ready. I've been saving their Christmas gift outfits for the trip so they have tons of brand new clothes to wear... not that they will care, but it feels like a splurge! My mom used to get us new vacation outfits before our summer vacations and it felt so special.

Only one week and a day!!!! I just looked at my Weather app here and it is a tropical 36 degrees here in Northeast Ohio. Bay Lake is a balmy 61 degrees!

Our trip isn't until Nov and I already have a bag in the closet for "Disney Trip Stuff"!!! Same idea, saving outfits and such just for Disney so it feels like a splurge. FYI Target has amazing travel stuff in their dollar bins at the front. Picked up a few color sheets and Downey pods the other day. I use color sheets so I can throw all the clothes in one load.

Very smart!! I will have to check out the travel stuff!!! We can always use those things!

I bought two boxes of the Purex Three in One sheets (supposedly laundry detergent, softener, and antistatic) and we popped them in our owners locker. They've discontinued them, but you can still buy them on Amazon. Speaking of--our last trip, the laundry machine overflowed and soaked the whole living room. I'm hoping the newness of those VGF villas means all the appliances are new because my DH will have some DVC buyers remorse if it happens again.

I also stockpile little Disney 'treats' for the girls, even if the ages are a few years in advance. I found a brand new mini Minnie puzzle at a garage sale for 50 cents... it's in the spare room closet :)

So we're looking at 4 days and about 20 hrs till departure, and I am SO not packed. On top of that I have a late meeting after work this week... so I am comparing our Owners Locker List to my packing list now during a lull at work.

Also trying to figure out how to entertain wiggly 17 monthers on the flight!!! I don't want to bring small plastic toys because they have started throwing things...

The good news is so far only Monday the 10th looks like it won't hit at least 68, so I think a light hoodie should be sufficient for all of us. I got the girls cute little fleece hoodies and matching/contrasting flower bathing suits (one is pink with a white flower and polka dots, the other is white with a pink flower and polka dots. Crazy part is that they are clearly EXACTLY the same design with colors reversed but are from two separate clothing brands. Makes you wonder.

We have 10 day non-expiring park hoppers, but I think we'll get DVC PAPs when we get there and use those. We have two more trips this year and I think this may be a few dollars cheaper. Since we plan to return and the 10 days do not expire, I'd kind of like to have them 'in the bank' to hedge against the constant increase in prices for tickets. Apparently other regulars buy tickets and put them away for future use to save long term $. The only downside is the outlay of another thousand in cash at a low cash flow time of year. Plus, a AP will make us feel like we can just go to a park for a few hours without 'wasting' a day on our ticket.

I keep debating about that Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party... I just don't know if we'll think it is worth it.

OH! Forgot to mention. I totally LOST our tickets. Thank goodness Undercover Tourist keeps a scan of the tickets they sell so we can get them reprinted.

I also can't find my DVC membership card or the gift card my SIL gave me for Christmas. I am sure I put them in a 'responsible' location. And that I will never see them again. Luckily I think I can also have my DVC card reprinted when we get there.

Not sure if I will be back on before you leave so I just wanted to wish you safe travels and an awesome vacation with lots of good weather!:yay::banana::yay:

You are so sweet!!!!

Weather is looking good... and I am SO NOT READY.

I mean, this is the view from my office window:

So in a way, I am ready for this:

And the girls have been preparing too:

...but my packing list has some gaping holes and I haven't even started the diaper bag or my carry on. I can't find my DVC card, or my main credit card... luckily I already got the copies of the ticket backs from the tickets I lost. I know I need to get organized but I am just at a loss! I have one of the twin's birth certificates, need to find the copy of the other one... I DID find the W2's I accused my husband of losing but don't tell him.

Got lots of stickers and toys to distract the twinfants on the plane ride, and snacks galore.

I know it is time for a vacation, because many of those people appearing before me (I'm a mediator) have been driving me nuts. I'm used to people lying to me as an occupational hazard but I've been getting really annoyed when people lie badly and to my face. I need some sunshine and family desperately :)

Can't remember if I mentioned this before but I have been debating getting us the DVC discounted Annual Passes. I'm hoping this does not create a snarl with our My Disney Experience since we are currently linked to 10 day non-expiring tickets.

My appetite still isn't great but I am hoping it kicks in for those delish Disney meals :) I keep thinking of more and more things I should request for our grocery list... The shorts I was going to wear are now far too big so I had to dig into the "yeah, right... you'll fit in those again hahahaa" box. I am going to try a few pairs on tonight and I'm hoping they fit! I guess that is the upside to thinking all food is gross.

DH drops the dog off at the dogsitter's tonight and DH is fretting about whether the dog will think we've abandoned him. This is the same dog sitter we have used for three or four trips now, so I'm pretty sure he'll manage. Plus his loyalty really follows the hand scooping his food.

I need a haircut almost as badly as the girls and the Ivy Trellis in the Grand Floridian apparently is wide open for walk ins on Sunday. That's my plan for nap time :)
