Day 1 April 14, 2005 Beach Club Sir, there is something vibrating in your luggage
Cast of Characters:
DH 39 Loves WDW (deprived from going as a child) would love to go every year.
Me 37 Loves going to WDW, the DIS and getting info, but Im really cheap and cannot part with money and has a hard time doing so.
DD 15 Going on 16. Puts up with going, but rather stay home in her room on her computer and listening to music (most likely wont be coming again).
DS 11 Just like DH, except 12 inches shorter, wants to go to WDW more often as long as he never has to pay.
We flew Song for the first time. Wow how the time flies (no pun intended) when you have those tvs in front of you. We werent able to listen to the music on the way down because there was something wrong with it, but we played the trivia and watched tv and our flight seemed only minutes long.
When we got to MCO, Jimmy from Golden Limo was there waiting for us with his huge smile he has (he is sooooo very awesome!, Love Ya Jimmy) He had his huge black stretch limo there and we rode in style and comfort on our way to the Beach Club.
We arrived at the Beach Club at 7pm. The CM that was handling our luggage all of a sudden yelled out sir, there is something vibrating in your luggage Huh?! The CMs who were around all kind of stopped what they were doing and looked at us. I was thinking what the heck could be vibrating? I walked over to the luggage and not only heard it, but the luggage was moving a little bit (it was our small suitcase with the bathroom toiletries in it) Then I realized it was my sons toothbrush . . .LOL. I think we made the CM kind of nervous . . .coulda been anything in there, right? LOL Well, after that strange occurrence we went inside and checked in. We had a standard view room. I did lots of research before we left and requested a 4th or 5th floor room, closest to Epcot walkway with a full size balcony. We were in room #4540 which had a view of Epcot through the trees which was a very nice surprise for a standard view.
Ok, let me just say that the Beach Club is my new favorite resort (sorry Poly lovers) but it was so beautiful and clean and there was lots to do in and around it. We walked the Boardwalk at night, stopped at the Boardwalk Bakery (which had yummy treats) watched some juggling acts on the Boardwalk and just admired that whole area.
We had dinner at Beaches & Cream that night. Burgers and fries for the kids and DH and I had turkey sandwiches. DS ordered the No Way Jose for dessert (it was huge!) and DH and I had to help him eat it. DD had the strawberry shortcake which she said was delicious and just the right size for the average person.
DH and DS went swimming at StormAlong Bay which was heated, which was especially nice since for some strange reason it was very very chilly in Orlando . . .we were wearing sweatshirts at night and DD was the only one smart enough to bring jeans (although that is what she wore every day). Weird for Florida weather in April.
We headed off to bed (which were extremely comfy) preparing for our 1st full day at the parks . . . .
