Our Land and Sea Vacation 3/21-27 Update 7/5 P.16 The last night

Tuesday was going to be great. We got ADR’s for an 8:05 breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace, many months ago. That meant we were going to get into the parks BEFORE ROPE DROP. (There really needs to be a halleluiah chorus emoticon for things like this.) We were super excited ….right up to the point we realized the park hours had changed and MK would be opening at 8:00. We would be spending the magical first hour of the Day in Crystal Palace, not running around the park riding things. Oh well, we decided to make the best of it. I think my family might actually have been happy that someone wasn’t barking at them at 6:30 in the morning. For some reason they have this crazy idea that vacations should include sleep.

Well rested we arrived at the MK at the tail end of the welcome show.

We headed into the park and walked down main street. Just thinking about that walk has me grinning now.

You can't see it but everyone in this picture is smiling

We were running a tad late for our reservation so we didn’t have time for many pictures.(For our family not many is like 20)

While mom stood inline at CP to let them know we were there for our reservation, I ran and got BTMRR FP’s. Hey there is no way, I’m going be in the park that early and not grab a set. They were for 8:45, sweet, by the time breakfast was over I could grab another set. (yes, I am the uncle scrooge of FP’s). While I grabbed them, mom had a chance to snap some pics of the kids.

That's Sis's I'm gonna have bacon smile.

I got back just as they sat down for breakfast, and got ready for coffee and characters. CP is a pretty typical breakfast buffet. I didn’t take any food pics (the food porn doesn’t start till the cruise pictures), but in my notes for today I did write that the puffed French toast was GOOD! (if it was noteworthy it must have been good) We all headed off in search of all sorts of breakfast goodies ( eggs, Bacon, French toast, bacon, pastries, bacon, fruit, bacon …etc)

As we ate the charaters started coming on through. Piglet was first, but in a place that serves mounds of bacon, it’s no surprise the Pig is an overachiever. He’s got the smell of motivation surrounding him.

The rest of the character's filtered by to be mauled with hugs by Sis and Bro.

Autograph book signed, characters hugged and stomachs full we waddled out towards Adventureland. This might have been because we enjoying reading social behavior statistics and were aware that people will typically procede counter clockwise and so we knew that adventureland was going to be the least crowded spot in the park. It also might have been because we were full and adventureland was the shortest walk.

We crossed the bridge, and there we were. Those that remember our penchant for 2nd dessert, who are also aware of what’s near the bridge in adventureland, just said “Dole Whip”. Unfortunately fruity goodness wasn’t in our immediate future, but the princess meet and greet was. Mom and the kids walked into there and I ran to get another set of BTMRR FP’s. I got back just in time to see Sis get her picture taken with all the Princesses.

We had a little bit of Disney magic at this point. A family that had gone before sis came back in through the exit with their autograph books to get them signed. They had forgotten them earlier. They jumped in line in front of Sis and just as they finished Belle walked out. If they hadn’t cut in front of her she would have missed a princess.

Bro tried to sneak in and talk to some of the princesses. Don't worry Bro, no one will know.

After the princesses we headed deeper into adventureland. There was no line for Aladdin’s Carpets. ( Dumbo’s less popular cousin) So we took a quick ride.

DSC_1823.jpg

Bro concentrated hard on flying our carpet lest we spin out of control out into the nether regions of space.

We successfully landed and cut through to frontierland, only to be taken by surprise by a nearsighted, frontier duck.

We left Donald and frolicked to the carousel. (For a child’s ride that is really difficult to spell)

DSC_1831.jpg

Sis was a little excited to be heading to Fantasyland.

We looked all over the Carousel for the horse with the Golden ribbon on its tail(Cinderella’s Horse) but didn’t find it. We found a line of horses and prepared for our gallop.

I think Mom's horse had training wheels on it.

We left the Carousel and it was Pooh time.

After that ride (I don't want to excede my quota of Pooh jokes) we headed to the teacups.

We were all dizzy and happy and our day was just getting started.

Coming up BTMRR, a trip to the Dr, and a chance for me to put years of Academy Training (or months of watching video's on youtube) into practice, to see if I can finally become a galactic hero.

im in!!:thumbsup2 you have to hit me over the head for me to notice trip reports in sigs.:lmao: great trip report, cute kids. :thumbsup2

Looks like a great day at MK so far...though just looking at that teacups picture makes me feel dizzy!!

Great TR so far. Cant wait to see the Dream.

We actually left Orlando the day before you arrived and I recall looking at the forecast and commenting how awesome the next week of weather was going to be for those just arriving. We had great weather too.

Re you alligator picture. We saw a Gatorland presentation while there and they said it is a $3000 fine to feed alligators and once one gets fed by humans they hunt them down and kill them because they will then seek out humans to be fed all the time. Just thought I'd share that bit of Gatorland learning.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

I had heard the same thing about feeding gators. I was really surprised in their neighborhood. We were sitting on the neighborhood dock and a 9 or 10 year old boy walks out of one of the houses across the street to the dock. As soon as he stepped onto the dock the gator's head popped up on the other side of the lake and it swam over to the dock and parked itself and waited to be fed. In the back of my head I was thinking what parent would be okay with the statement "mom or dad, I'm going off to feed the gators I'll be back in a little bit"

Glad your enjoying the TR.

Here I am! The DW. Arriving a little late to this party, because I've been so busy behind the scenes editing the 2700 pictures we took during our fabulous land and sea adventure. And after being the primary "blogger" of the family for the last 3 years, I'm more than happy to pass the writing baton on to DH. He's doing a much better job than me anyway! Thanks for reading his trip report, and hope you all continue to comment and cheer him on! :cheer2: (He's pretty funny, right?!) :)

I don't remember there being an announcement for this TR and I too am somewhat oblivious to the TR links in the signatures.

But, I sure am glad that I happened upon this. A great start with a beautiful family! Looking forward to more.

the scary part of that is were at 2700 pics and one camera is still unaccounted. That number could still go up. I don't know that I'm doing a better job than you, your edited pics certainly look better than most of what I've posted. And what do you mean "his" trip report? I'm pretty sure you were there too. :rotfl2:

:headache::mad: What a ripoff! You should have shown up at 7 and demanded to be fed!

For some reason they have this crazy idea that vacations should include sleep.
You want to waste 8 hours of every vacation day by literally doing nothing? Blasphemy!

We headed into the park and walked down main street. Just thinking about that walk has me grinning now.
Me too. And I wasn't even there.

You can't see it but everyone in this picture is smiling
I believe you. I saw the reflection of some of the people in a store window. I zoomed in 700% and enhanced the picture to crystal clear clarity with just a few mouse strokes.
What? They do it on CSI all the time...

They were for 8:45, sweet, by the time breakfast was over I could grab another set. (yes, I am the uncle scrooge of FP’s).
I'm note sure I want to know the answer to this, but do you store them in a large building on a hill and go swimming in them?:confused3

It also might have been because we were full and adventureland was the shortest walk.
Veteran move right there!:thumbsup2

Bro tried to sneak in and talk to some of the princesses. Don't worry Bro, no one will know.
No one except everyone at your high school graduation because this photo will be blown up to poster sized and placed right next to the buffet line.

We left Donald and frolicked to the carousel. (For a child’s ride that is really difficult to spell)
Just use "up and down spinny horsey ride". The words a much smaller. :thumbsup2

After that ride (I don't want to excede my quota of Pooh jokes) we headed to the teacups.
There's a limit on these things?!?
Uh oh. I've got some rewriting to do for the rest of my TR entries. :sad2:

:welcome: You have a lovely family!

I'm so glad you made it! Now I get to watch someone else's wife correct a trip report. Not that that's going on at my TR or anything. :sad2:

Well, it is too bad that you missed the first hour of rides due to breakfast, but at least you came through with some excellent Fast Pass strategy! :thumbsup2

( eggs, Bacon, French toast, bacon, pastries, bacon, fruit, bacon …etc)
I'm starting to get a sudden craving for bacon. :confused3

There's no quota as long as they're funny... :rolleyes1

We were all dizzy and happy and our day was just getting started.
And it looks like it was a spectacular morning! :thumbsup2
