Hi All,

I'm in charge of the Honeymoon, and I've made the following reservations:

A red-eye flight on Dec 30th and the Honeymoon Suit at the Polynesian for our first three days:

After that we will move to a All-Star Resort for the rest of our trip. We are not on the Disney Dining Plan and I do not intend to sign us up for it.

Dining wise, I have made the following reservations:

Early Evening - Leave

I made a lot of restaurant reservations because I am a little worried that the Holiday crowds would make good dining difficult. I'm perfectly prepared to ditch any reservation (except for the the Chef's Table - that took me many a day of waking up at 3:58 AM to get) if the couple is busy having fun and doesn't want to tromp all over to make a reservation and would just rather eat pizza or whatever.

But I want to get your feedback. Is there something I should ditch? Something I should should add? Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks,
Mike

In my opinion it is going to be a rough move from the Honeymoon Suite at the Poly to All Star Sports. Nothing against All Star Sports but it certainly is not the Honeymoon Suite at the Poly. Maybe you can just find a regular room at the Poly for the remainder of your stay or move to one of the Deluxes in the Epcot area to give yourself a different home base.

The reservations are fine. It is hard to critique these because I don't know your budget and only you know what you like.

If money was not an object, I would probably move your dinner at Marakesh to Flying Fish. You can just walk their from Epcot.
Getting to breakfast at Boma in AKL might be a little tough unless you take a cab from your resort. I am not a big DD fan but that is just me.

Have fun and Congratulations.

Wish that was my honeymoon!!!!

I do have to agree with the other poster, I would rather stay somewhere other than a value....but then again I am not a big fan of moving rooms during vacation (but I have 3 children now)

Other than that (and that is subjective) I LOVE YOUR PLAN!

I would change the Fulton's lunch to Marrakesh for lunch and do Flying Fish in place of the Marrakesh dinner. I'm not a fan of Fulton's - there are much better options for seafod, IMHO. Narcoosee's is also a great option (at the GF). But both Flying Fish and Narcoosees are dinner only, hence the need to move Marakesh to lunch. Just a thought.

You have some great picks there though. Fultons is really the only one I would change. I also like Crystal Palace better than CRT breakfast, but if you've never eaten in the castle, CRT is a fun choice. If time/ budget allows though, I would recommend trying to add Crystal Palace.

I also second the call for better honeymoon accomodations. Maybe you could move to a normal room at the Poly for your whole stay and nix the night in the suite to balance out the added cost. I don't know the exact cost of a suite, but it seems that you might be able to make that change with little extra cost. That way you will have a great place to stay for your whole trip, not just one night. Just my two cents.

Whatever you decide, congrats and you will have a great time! :thumbsup2

I also want to come along on your honeymoon. Your restaurant choices sound great to me. I just don't know if I could eat that many real meals in a day(but if you forced me I probably could). As for the resort issue(that I don't think was the original question, but anyway...)I don't know your personality, but for Dh and I, we would rather spend most of our trip in a value resort and save money and then spend just a few nights in a deluxe resort. Basically the way you have it. We would not go to the parks at all on the days that we were in the deluxe resorts because we would want to enjoy all that the resort has to offer. Our opinion, why spend all that money to stay in a beautiful resort if you are going to be in a park all day. But, if money isn't an issue then stay in a fancier resort. Regardless of what we all think, have a wonderful time. I am sure that you will have many wonderful memories after your trip.

Except for Fultons, all your choices are great!!
And I do agree about going from Poly to the ALL STAR resort. Money may play into this of course, but remaining at the Poly (or even going to a Moderate) would probably be better.
BUt if not--enjoy your honeymoon! You planned well.
But do remember to cancel Fultons--

A great honeymoon you have planned. Great dining choices too! The only thing I would have done differently is stay at the Poly last because it's tough to go from there to the All Stars.

Hey Everyone,

There are no free rooms at the Poly for the other dates of our trip, with the exception of the honeymoon suit, and that is simple too expensive for the entire trip.

I may cancel the reservations for Fultons. Thanks for the advice.

Well...if the Poly isn't available, is there anything...ANYTHING available at another deluxe or moderate for your dates? The All Stars are OK, but IMHO not for a honeymoon. Just sayin'

Food choices sound GREAT! I am getting hungry NOW!

Fulton's food was good, but I thought loud restaurant, expensive and I just didn't click with the waiter ... ok, he liked the table next to us much better and I found that upsetting for some dumb reason :confused3 ... but if you are at the Poly ... you COULD do Kona Cafe which is a very SHORT walk from the HONEYMOON ROOM.

DH and I did the HONEYMOON ROOM for our anniversary. THEY HAVE LOTS OF FOOD at the concierge lounge where you will want to snack at and watch Wishes from ... (in the HAWAII building, not yours) though you can get the breakfast items right up the steps! ... anyway ... I'm sure you have visited the Resort-Poly thread about all that! (If not, check it out!!)

About going to a value. Hey ... "I spent my Honeymoon Fun-Break at the Sheraton Inn in Frederick, MD " -- that was the name of our PACKAGE!!! DH worked for Sheraton at the time ... got a good deal ... and I spent my whole week-end honeymoon there --- then we went back to our apartment where we both went to work on Tuesday! So I think you will have a great time just being away from work and at the WORLD no matter where it is!!!

(DH and I have lasted now 22 years so I guess the short, rather mundane honeymoon spot didn't do us any harm!)

HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME! :thumbsup2
