Our Great Escape-the British invasion! 8 Nov 2011 WP/KW/DP - Updated 25/07/11

Very pretty!!! I love the dramatic eyes. Very pretty makeup.
And the hair is so pretty!!!
I'm looking at something similar. I have long hair and want to leave some/all down, but I'm so worried about the curls staying in my hair! (my hair is straight and likes to stay that way!)

I think mine should be ok as it naturally has a bit of a wave to it but if you are planning on booking someone to do your hair I'm sure it will be fine. I have read about other brides on here who were worried about the same thing but there style lasted all day....these beauty people are like magicians in my opinion!!!

We are hoping to book our flights this weekend as the prices have dropped and with only 5 months to go I am starting to get a bit worried about it.

We already have our accomodation sorted-we have rented a 6 bedroom villa on the Solana Resort in Davenport for two weeks. We were able to go and look at it in November before we made the booking and loved it. The owners are also English and the lady has lovely taste, it is immaculate and we can't wait to use the pool and jacuzzi!!! We will be staying in it with my parents, my sister and brother in law, my auntie and uncle and Billy's mum but everyone will be there for different amounts of time. His Dad and step mum live in Spain and they will be going to Florida with another couple. They have all rented another villa, not far from ours.

The night before the wedding I will stay at the Grand Floridian (still need to book this) with my sis and possible my mum and then Billy and I will stay there on the wedding night.

Oh yeah, something I am really excited about...we have booked to go to Discovery Cove a few days after the wedding!!! My parents and auntie and uncle are going on a cruise after the wedding so on the day they leave we have booked to go to DC with my sis and BIL. None of us have ever been and they don't know we have planned it as it is going to be their gift for being bridesmaid and best man. Aside from getting to interact with the dolphins it should be nice and relaxing and will be good to spend some time just as a 4 without everyone else!

Then two days later Billy and I will set sail for our honeymoon!! We are going on a 7 night Royal Caribbean cruise, stopping at Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico. We have only cruised once but thoroughly enjoyed it so are really looking forward to this and seeing some new places. But it is pretty much the first opportunity we will have to be alone and let it sink in that we are married. I'm trying to convinve Billy that we should do the stingray trip in Grand Cayman and as it is my birthday on that day I'm hoping I will get to choose what we do....think he's not keen on the idea as he finds them a bit creepy but I think it's such a unique, special thing to do.

Let me know if you've been to any of these places and if there is anything you recommend we do...or don't do!!!

So it's opinion time....I am very indecisive so have ordered 3 hair flowers from Etsy! On a side note, I am so pleased that I discovered Etsy, I have bought a few bits from there and love the concept of buying from 'real' people rather than a billion pound company.

Anyway, these are the flowers I have bought, which (if any) do you like?

I think this is beautiful and is bright white so will match my dress. It is probably the most classic and traditional.

and then there are these which I also really like. They will brighten my outfit up a bit but I'm not sure if they are suitable and will look right.

When they arrive I will have to try them all and see if one looks better than the others but I would really appreciate any opinions in the mean time.

I like them all! I think my favorite is the white one though. I love the middle part of it! :goodvibes

The white flower is gorgeous - do you mind me asking which seller you got it from please? :goodvibes

Of course not, happy to help! I purchased it from a seller called Enchantedly Yours and the item is called bright white rose with rhinestone centre. I had to message the seller about something and she was very helpful-she has lots of other styles and I think she can customise items if need be. Can't comment on the quality as haven't received it yet but fingers crossed it will be as nice as it appears in the pic!!

Thank you very much!

DF and I are looking at getting married with just the two of us at...dare I say it...Universal (shhhhhh!) and then having a DFTW renewal after 5 years :goodvibes

Your plans are lovely - gorgeous colour :cutie:

I love the sound of eveything. Purple is my fav colour. Your dress is stunning. I like flower number 1, perhaps your BM could wear number 2. Your very laid back I can't believe you've not booked your flights.

Ha ha, yes I know! We are really laid back-I'm surprised actually because whilst day to day I am a pretty easy going person I'm also quite organised and thought I would get wedding fever but much to Billy's delight I haven't been that obsessed!! My mum is going frantic about the flights though so pretty sure we will all be booking in the next few days!

We're not prepared to spend the crazy amount to fly anything but economy but Virgin are quite good so shouldn't be an issue. We are going in the Clubhouse before we fly however so that should be a good start to the wedding trip...maybe have a cheeky glass of something! The only thing that worries me is the tiny amount of luggage you are now allowed to take. Think we'll try to manage with 3 cases (which already means paying for an additional case) as 4 is just too much hassle!!

How did you manage with luggage Chilly?

Thank you very much!

Are you really-that sounds fantastic! What are your plans? I love Universal so no need to shhh around me!! My DF would love it to just be the 2 of us but whilst I am happy with the low key, small numbers wedding, I have to have my mum and dad there!

Oh you have to go on the stingray tour!! It is so much fun, and how often do you have an opportunity like that? As for the hair pieces, I like #1 as well. It really is beautiful!

There hasn't been much to report recently as we haven't had much time for wedding planning unfortunately but a few bits have arrived in the post so I will take some photos this week and upload them.

We have now pretty much decided on our menu-please let me know your thoughts aswe have never eaten on Disney property so have no idea what is good...and what isn't!!

We've gone for roasted red pepper and asparagus soup, Mickey shaped chicken quesadilla and fillet steak in a red wine demi with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal veg. We won't be serving any dessert as we are having a DP in Epcot.

We have also emailed our planner with a selection of items to serve at the DP but are waiting to hear back on a price for this. We've booked two luxury vans for transport to and from the DP and won't be telling the guests where we're going so it should be quite fun and hopefully exciting for them.

In another news, I have decided that I will walk down the aisle to Pachabel Cannon in D-I have always loved it as a piece of music and the fact that it's in my favourite film Father of the Bride just makes it even more special. We're struggling on what other music to use however so if anyone would be willing to share the music they used I would appreciate it. I suggested DF walks in to the main theme from Back To The Future as we both love the films and thought it would be a bit of fun!

Oh and lastly, the best bit of news....we're now in double digits until we leave for Florida!! Only 95 days until we're boarding that flight and I am going to be crazy excited!!!!
