Our great big beautiful journey!!! With Pictures!! UPDATED 2/25/07 with VIDEO!!

Final thoughts & things we would change:

Flight:
  • We normally drive to Florida but chose to fly this time. With the cost of gas and travel expenses compared to the price of 2 plane tickets it was about the same. I am glad that we flew. Next time that we go I would like to fly again.

Rental Car:
  • The good: Dollar express was pretty easy, we got in a car very quickly with little paper work.
  • The bad: The car that we received the first time had the check engine light on and couldn't go out, so we had to switch vehicles after we had everything loaded.
  • The ugly: The guy was extremely rude when we returned the car. We felt rushed. He kept yelling "where are the keys, where are the keys!!" at the time my husband was using them to open the trunk. We got stuck with a car with no power locks so we had to use the key to open the trunk.

Pop Century:
  • We love POP! What can I say about it. I think for the price you get a clean room and the advantage of being on disney property. I've tossed the idea around many times of stay off property and can't really justify the savings. Being in the magic means alot to us....even if we are in a value resort.
  • My husband is wanting to stay at other resorts since he's only stayed at POP, so next trip we are going to look into All Star Movies, Port Orleans, or Coronado Springs. We like things "close" and after visiting my brother and SIL at Carribbean Beach things we too spread out for us. Its gonna be hard giving up unlimited blush slushies!!

Dining:
  • I had budgeted a $100 a day for food, snacks, and souveniers. We stayed within budget, however on our next trip I think we will do the Dining Plan. I like the idea of having it paid for in advance. On this particular trip though our tickets were purchased by my mom so we didn't get a package at all.

Tickets:
  • We had 3 day MYW base tickets that were purchased by my mom at the disney store. When we arrived we upgraded them to 5 day MYW base tickets for just a few bucks more. For us this worked fine.

Stroller:
  • We didn't rent a stroller. I prefer to have my own for the airport, shopping, resort, ect. We had a KidCo and it worked wonderfully. It folds like a umbrella but it has a reclining seat and a basket for our junk. Perfect! I bought it on ebay (brand new directly from the company) for about $80.

Family:
  • We actually enjoyed going with our family....all 19 of us. I've not heard any complaints. I have heard that we all wished we would have spent more time together. So, if we do go again like that...which we possibly could since we are all talking about it. I suggest that we plan more activities together. This trip we really only spent Magic Kingdom and Hoop De Doo together as a party of 19. At Magic Kingdom we didn't really stick together all that much at all.

Upcoming trip:

  • We are currently planning to go back to the world February 2009. Our son will be 3 1/2 by then. Hopefully we'll have another lil one to bring with us. ;)
