Our girlie summer Vegas get-away (over and done with)

Well, unconfuzzle yourself. Let's see if we can sort this out and get things going here.....

I think Wendy will for sure be at Harrahs with Marcie. She's got a special deal or freebie or something, so I imagine she's definitely going take advantage of that. Might as well, and then save money for other things.

And I know if Deb comes she will most likely be in the room with them, right Deb?

Also Theresa, you had talked about booking your own room at Harrahs just in case. You said you were thinking you might need it to get work done as that's a busy time for you. Did you ever do that??
If so, that puts you, Wendy, Marcie and Deb all at Harrahs.

Cheryl won't stay at Harrahs, which is fine. She and Linda are rooming together and have both expressed interest in Mirage. That would actually work out fine. If they can find a good deal there, it's right across the street and would still be convenient for walking back and forth. Some things we want to do are at or near Mirage, and some are at or near Harrahs. So either way it's fine.

That leaves Stacielee and her friend Doreen, who aren't sure if they are coming.

Stacerita and Nikki.

Angie and Patty. Are you two rooming together after all? Which place are you leaning towards?

And I think that's it.

Steph, if you read this, are you coming? I hope so!! Stacerita was looking for many roomies so maybe you can get in with her and Nikki.

Anyway, I think if we could keep it limited to Harrahs and Mirage it would work out nicely. They are both mid Strip, and both close to each other, relatively speaking. And deals will continue to pop up for them between now and then. Just my opinion. :teeth:

All righty then, Harrah's it is :thumbsup2 Looking at the map, it does seem like a good location and easy to get around for those of us without vehicles ;)

Linda and I were talking about the fine dining dinner and we both liked Kokomo's, which is at the Mirage. They sound yummy and have a very reasonable Prix Fixe tasting menu HERE

I think I will book a room because most likely I will come down on the Wednesday and I really do need to have the opportunity to get some work done (luckily I usually get up WAY before anyone else ;))

Woo hoo!! (that was a practice one so I don't get too rusty before June!!)

Hi girls! Back home and still haven't finished unpacking--but wanted to chime in. First, Kokomo's looks fab! Hope they still have the prix fixe menu option in June--it looks yummy!

Second--I am ok with either MGM or the Mirage--the Venetian is also just one hotel away from Harrah's too, and I generally get some emails from them. I'm sorry about harrah's--it was just really a horrible experience for me personally--but I know other people who love it. I think it's just personal preference. I like the casino area actually--just did not like the hotel part. don't know if it is still there, but they had a really yummy Chinese place. Kinda pricey though--I went in once while I was there by myself and it was very nice--of course, they seated this elderly chinese gentleman next to me who must have been a "high-roller" because the staff of the hotel were catering to him and they were making special dishes for him (at least from what I could understand--they were speaking chinese!)

Ok, off to check some more threads and then back to work!

Cheryl

Okay, sounds good. I just think keeping it close by would be nice. And since you and Linda already stayed at MGM last time, maybe it will work out for Mirage or Venetian. :)

Kokomo's does look yummy and I think they have the Prix Fixe menu all the time - different choices, but the $39.99 menu. Works for me :thumbsup2 I like the casino at Harrah's too - I won money, honey (OK, I played my free $5 and ended up winning $10.51, so that's a winner to me :lmao:)

It's nice to try out different places. It's my personal goal to collect toiletries from all the hotels in Vegas :rotfl: So far I have the Venetian, The Rio, Luxor, The Orleans.......... Next????

Angie and Patty. Are you two rooming together after all? Which place are you leaning towards?

I'm fine with Harrah's but if Patty would be kind enough to be my roommate I'll leave the final decision to her.

Deb and I ate at Kokomos. It was tasty.

Please keep me included, not sure how much i can comprehend or keep track of for awhile but i am going.

No worries. Just show up and Theresa, Deb and I will point you in the right direction.

Harrahs. Duh. ;)

Kokomos looks nice, but it's not me. I'm just a simple (code for cheap) gal.

So, if anyone is looking to pass on the dinner at Kokomos, you are welcome to join me at BLT Burger or CPK which are both also inside the Mirage, and then we can all meet up after. :)

We'll keep you up to date, not to worry :flower3:

::yes:: We will!

Right, almost forgot already ;)

Ooooh, I'm trying so hard not to say anything here...........

Kokomos looks good to me. And like I said before, it doesn't matter where we stay. Just needs to be clean.

I was skimming through our old thread that we used to plan the June '09 trip, and was cracking up over some parts. I know this June it will be just as much fun, and given recent developments I'm so glad to have that time to look forward to!! :yay: :woohoo:

I was thinking...... I bought new slippers, really funky looking ones, to wear to the slumber party Meet and Greet. I have to put them to good use sometime. I never wear slippers around the house.

Theresa suggested one day in June, maybe Sunday since I'll be around that morning, we can go down to Starbucks in our slippers and curlers and take some funny pics. I like that idea. I think it would be a hoot. Sorta like Marcie did that one time in her curlers at the slot machine. :rotfl:

And then I'll get some use out of my new slippers. :goodvibes

Oh, and I also just wanted to add that Kokomos lounge in Mirage was just written up in one of our local guides as one of the best places to people watch. :thumbsup2

Yay for people watching!!

I just reserved my room at Harrah's at 25% off, so good price.... Is it June yet???

No. :sad2: And right now, June seems like it will never get here.....

But we're one day closer now :woohoo: :woohoo:

Anyone else booked a room or anything??? Anyone?? Helloooooooo......... (yes, I'm a little bored right now, so let's get going ladies :rotfl2:)

Kokomo's was really good but way over priced!!
It was $40 for my prime rib, $10 for a baked potato and $8 for a dinner salad, and $15 for a martini. Very good, but I wouldn't eat there again.
It cost me almost $70 for one dinner.

It is the best place to people watch! The view is beautiful! The atmosphere is great and the staff was really nice.

I'm so happy you ladies are on here today. I've been avoiding housework but both threads have been slow today.
I haven't booked anything because I'm waiting to see what Patty thinks about being my roommate. Maybe she wants to meet me face to face first before committing:confused3

Well Angie, I have met you and can attest that you are cute as a button and sweet as can be, but you may have to work on bringing out your "wild woman" from within!:rotfl: JK of course, but we are different in Sin City than we are at the Mouse House aren't we?::yes::

I am sure it will all work out. Some of the others may even want to add you as a third or fourth roomie. I know Stacerita always strives for a minimum of five in her room.:rolleyes1

Deb, I think we are going to try the Pre Fix menu - it's $39 (plus a cocktail of course).

Hopefully Cheryl & I will book soon - we are talking about it this weekend at DL while we work on the Scavy Hunt questions.

Linda, that is very sweet of you to say! But anyone who knows me well would pee their pants laughing if they saw that. I have a very sarcastic side that comes out when I get to know people.

Yep, we were thinking of the Prix Fixe menu, which is $39.99 for three courses, then maybe a cocktail ;)

Yay for booking soon :woohoo: You going with the Mirage???

Note to self, get to know the real Angie :thumbsup2 Hopefully Patti will check in soon and you guys can make your definite arrangements. Right now there is a 25% off deal for Harrah's - even the Deluxe Rooms (which is what I booked). For five nights I pay a total of $490, including tax (no resort fee - yay!!!).
