Our FUN filled trip full of Firsts, Favorites, Flu and Frustration! 10/17-24 New pg.4

So another magical day has started bright and early with an 8AM ressie at 1900 Park Faire. We took the bus from WL to MK and then the monorail to GF. This was our first monorail ride of the trip.:) DH still not feeling so good.
IMG_0428.jpg

I was trying to get an artistic picture throught the decals on the monorail window.
We had a wonderful breakfast of omelets, mickey waffles, bacon with these guys

IMG_0438.jpg

IMG_0441.jpg

They weren't as 'animated' with DS as they were 2 years ago, but he is getting older. Still a great time and meal. So after breakfast I convince DH to go back to the room to rest, I went to the gift shop and bought more meds. for him to take. We had MNSSHP that night and I wanted DH to attend that and not get pooped out doing MK again with us. So DH took monorail with us to MK and headed to WL via boat while DS and I went to MK. We got there about 920 A and it was pretty empty. We first stopped to see Snow White next to the Emporium(photopass has those shots of us) and then we got a few photopass shots together here, but I got one of DS.
IMG_0445.jpg

We headed to SPLASH! I knew I'd eventually have to ride, and the time had come:eek:. Of course there's no line and DS is running on. We got the front seat and I was on the right, so I know I'm getting soaked;). There were 2 nice women behind us that I talked to and they hoped I hadn't spent alot of time on my hair:rotfl2:. So the moment arrives for the big drop I was dreading
IMG_0452.jpg

see Ds is all smiles and I'm cringing! And boy did we get SOAKED!
IMG_0448.jpg

me more that DS. I had to go put my hair up in a clip after that ride. So DS is so happy that I finally rode Splash, and had fun. Now I'm not going to rush to do Splash first everytime, but I'll ride again some day. So next up was 2 back to back rides on BTMRR to try to dry off;). DS left his sunglasses in the storage net on BTMRR, but we went right back and found them. Next we rode POTC and Ds got this in the gift shop because he was being very good for me
IMG_0458.jpg

And then DS asked a CM when the Pirate show with Jack was and he told DS in 5 min. So we waited for the pirate tutorial. DS helped the 1st mate put the rope out. And then he appeared
IMG_0463.jpg

and chose DS to participate:cool1:. So the 3 other kids fought the 1st mate and DS got to practice with
IMG_0466.jpg

DS was so excited! Next up was a trip on BLSRS ans a meeting with Buzz himself
IMG_0473.jpg

and then to the laugh floor, for a third time this trip. Then we finally saw this guy
IMG_0476.jpg

DS and another boy were fighting with their swords, so Push was telling them to stop fighting. DS then though all trash cans at Disney talked;). It was about time to start to head to the room to rest up before MNSSHP, but we stopped to watch this on Main St.
IMG_0480.jpg

IMG_0481.jpg

And I told DS he could make his own ears, so we stopped to do that as well. Here's his creation
IMG_0482.jpg

He did a great job and it was only around $20. We headed to the lodge around 130P with plans to return around 5pm for the party.

UP Next- Will DH attend the party? Will we have as much fun this year as we did last year?

Great trip report. Love all the pictures. Sorry your DH is not feeling well. The RP driving experience looks like fun. This might be something we may want to try in the future.

Looking forward to more...

I almost forgot, on our way from the pirate tutorial to Tomorrowland, DS and I shared our FIRST EVER Dole whip! He took a few licks from the vanilla side, and I enjoyed the rest of the vanilla and pineapple heaven on a cone!:lovestruc I can't believe I've been missing this all these years.

We left the lodge around 445P to head over for MNSSHP at MK. DS was in his Anakin Skywalker costume and using his light up sword as a lightsaber instead of his lightsaber he made at HS on Sun.
IMG_0488.jpg

First up was a 5 minute wait for BLSRS, and then off to the races and a 10 minute wait
IMG_0492.jpg

Nextup was walk on for our forst ride on the TTA, DS really liked this ride for some reason. Here's a shot I took of the castle
IMG_0495.jpg

And then to the tea cups for a walk on ride! I just love how the park empties out the few hours before the party starts and almost everything is walk on or minimal wait.
We headed to ride Pooh next, DS still likes this ride. The wait time said 20 min. but it was more like 10.
So far DH's meds are working and the rest this morning and afternoon did him good:goodvibes. So I really wanted to get to see Snow White and the 7 Dwarves, but DS wanted no parts of Snow White or the line that was forming, so we headed to HM to get the Ghost driver shot. When we passed Cinderella's carriage on the was to Liberty Square, DS said no to that too. I figured as long as I got my HM shot I better not push my luck with the boys.:rolleyes1. Here's the HM in all its glory for the party
IMG_0506.jpg

And our photopass shots came out great, I'll post those when I get my CD.
We then headed toward Frontierland so I could scope out a seat for the parade but we stopped here 1st
IMG_0509.jpg

Some days I wish I could confine DS here:rotfl:(just kidding). Then we stopped to Trick or Treat
IMG_0510.jpg

Now this is where I was disappointed. It was a hot and humid night, but there was literally very few candy bars given out. It was cheap lollipops, sour things that looked like Smarties but weren't Smarties, now and laters and a few and I mean very few tootsie rolls. I understand it was hot, but what about M and M's, Twizzlers, crackers or pretzels. My suggestions would be give each person 1 little bag of Disney candy or a Disney cookie instead of a hand full of cheap yucky candy. So needless to say we didn't trick or treat much:mad:. Next I got a seat on the ledge next to Peco's Bills while DS and DH went for a few rides on BTMRR. I talked to a very nice lady who was saving her spots for her DH and DGS. The mosquitos were biting my legs, I've never been bitten by a mosquito at Disney, what's going on:confused3
So when DS and DH get back, we got dinner at Pecos Bills, gotta love the cheese for the fries!. Here's some Boo to You pictures. I just love the song they play for the parade! But again the parade didn't seem as long as last year, so I didn't find it that great.
IMG_0511.jpg

IMG_0519.jpg

IMG_0521.jpg

Next we saw these guys after a ride on POTC
IMG_0537.jpg

Now DS is saying Tick Tock to Hook and Hook is acting scared! We next went for a visit with some of our jungle friends
IMG_0544.jpg

IMG_0548.jpg

IMG_0552.jpg

On our was towards the main hub we stopped to watch Hallowishes, truly the best fireworks ever! We were on the left of the castle and that darn tree was in my way.
IMG_0563.jpg

DS is afraid of the Villians so we skipped their show, he's not afraid of Darth Vader, but is afraid of Jafar? DS wanted to hit Stitche's Dance Party so we did that next. DH found a seat, he was pooping out and the headache:headache: was back. So DS and I danced with these guys for about 30 min. I didn't see anyone giving out those Star Wars toothbrushes that I had heard about.
IMG_0577.jpg

IMG_0589.jpg

Next was a ride on this
IMG_0591.jpg

A first night ride for us and it was great! So it was getting late, everyone was tired but DS wanted to see the main Mouse in his costume so we walked to toontown and saw the Big Cheese.
IMG_0592.jpg

And about 1120P we headed out for the night. It was fun, but not as fun as last year.

IMG_0596.jpg

UP NEXT- Will we make our 830A ressie at Tusker House? Would we conquer Everest for the FIRST TIME?

Denise, Here's the Tarzan from last year
IMG_1258.jpg

The party is fun, lots of characters, Hallowishes and Boo to You Parade.

So we were all a little slow to start on 10/23, we'd had a late night at MNSSHP and we needed to be to AK for our 830A ressie at TH. We got to AK right around 830A and checked in about 840A. We only waited about 15 minutes until we were called to get in line for our picture. So we probably didn't get inside the restaurant until about 910A, so the park had already opened. The food was good here, DS liked the donuts! We didn't try the Jamba juice, we got Orange and Apple instead. The characters made rounds the fastest here, so we saw everyone, I was disappointed Donald doesn't sign outside the restaurant or make rounds inside, they said we could see him in his safari gear for an autograph at Camp Minnie/Mickey. DS was chosen by Goofy to lead the parade in our dining area.
IMG_0599.jpg

IMG_0603.jpg

IMG_0608.jpg

IMG_0612.jpg

After breakfast I headed to EE to get FP's while DS and DH went to the Safari ride to wait for me. I tooka few shots on my way to EE and back. I saw Devine for the First time.
IMG_0613.jpg

IMG_0634.jpg

We rode the safari, it was about a 15 minute wait, sign said 50 minutes. Here's a few shots, I won't bore you with the rest
IMG_0629.jpg

IMG_0632.jpg

Next up after a bathroom break was EE. None of us had ever ridden. I was scared, I had watched it on you tube many times to prepare myself. So we walked right on with our FP. DS rode with DH and I rode with a lovely single rider. I told her I was scared, but she assured me that she's not a roller coaster lover, but loves this. I told her how I watched it on you tube and knew when it goes backwards if I counted slowly to 15 then it would start to go forward again. Yes, I'm crazy!!
IMG_0636.jpg

IMG_0638.jpg

That is DS with his head in DH's lap, I'm not in that redneck photo. So I figured 1 ride for DS was enough. I must say I loved it!!! I missed the Yeti at the end, but I survived! As soon as we left the store, DS says he wants to go again!!!:cool1: So we got another fast pass.
IMG_0639.jpg

We had about an hour before we could FP EE, so we headed to the Nemo show. It was as great as I remembered.
IMG_0658.jpg

IMG_0670.jpg

Next up was Dinosaur, one of my favorites. DS didn't want to ride, but DH had never, so we forced DS to ride it.
IMG_0672.jpg

DS didn't want to do anything else except EE. So we headed back to use our FP
IMG_0787.jpg

I did buy the photo the 2nd ride because all 3 of us are in it. I rode with a single rider, not as talkative as the last:{.But, I did see the Yeti this time!!! So now it's really hot and DS is tired and wants to go swim. So we grabbed a snack
IMG_0679.jpg

While in line for our snack(DS-ice cream, me-lemonade, DH-coke float) a nice man approached us and offered to buy our snack, I declined after thanking him because we too were trying to use the last of our snack credits. He did buy snacks for 4 teens from the UK in front of us, they were going to pay with cash. Thank you again to the nice man, probably a Diser!!! So we stopped for a family photopass ppicture on the bridge with EE behind us and headed to Camp Minnie/Mickey. DS's feet hurt and he was whining.
IMG_0680.jpg

IMG_0684.jpg

I tried to convince DS to get in line to see Thumper, but he was wiped out and hot. So about 130P we left AK for the lodge, to swim, and rest before our O'Hana dinner.

UP Next- Will we like our Cousins food?

I would love to surprise someone by buying their snacks with leftover credits!!!

Glad you loved EE; it's one of my faves!

Thanks to those who have joined in!

So we went back to the lodge for a break before dinner. DH- napped. I did a load of laundry while DS played with his Legos. When I put the clothes in the dryer I took DS to the pool. I actually went down the waterslide! So after about an hour at the pool we stopped to pick up our semi dry clothes and head back to the room. After a short rest we all showered and got ready to head to dinner.
IMG_0692.jpg

We took the boat to the MK
IMG_0693.jpg

and then a long Monorail ride to the POly. They were adding another monorail to the track or something, so we sat at the MK stop for about 15 min. and the stopped between MK and the Contemporary for about 5. We made it to O'Hana with a few minutes to spare. While we waited to be seated DH took DS to make a few pressed pennies(DS is obsessed with those machines now!) We got seated here
IMG_0696.jpg

It was a great view. It's hard to see the castle in the picture, but it's there!!!! I must say we LOVED O"Hana! I could have just eaten the salad, bread, wings, noodles and potstickers and been happy. Loved the peanut sauce! The meats were OK, DH really enjoyed those. DS got a hot dog, he's the picky one in the family. DS had fun with his Lightning MCQueen light up cup and the little umbrellas one of his cousins gave to him. I enjoyed my adult beverage, can't remember the name(magical star?) But I must say the DESSERT was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! Now DH is not a dessert person, so he told the waitress he wouldn't be having any. I convinced DH that it wasn't real sweet and he had to try it. So after forcing him to take one bite, it led to him eating half the dessert. The banana bread pudding with ice cream and caramel sauce is my new all time favorite dessert! DS was brough vanilla ice cream for dessert. DS had fun throughout the meal between the cocoanut races, hula and of course dancing with his MOM!

IMG_0724.jpg

After stuffing ourselves, we took the monorail to the MK and boat back to the lodge. We were all exhausted, but I really wanted to see the Electrical Water Pageant. We'd never seen it and it was a perk of staying at the lodge. It was about 9PM by the time we got to the room and the boys were tired.

UP Next- Would I see the Water Pageant on our Last night in Disney?

I must say we LOVED O"Hana! I could have just eaten the salad, bread, wings, noodles and potstickers and been happy. Loved the peanut sauce! The meats were OK, DH really enjoyed those.

I totally agree with you! I have thought of that salad and potstickers several times since we have been home.

I am loving your TR.....great job! Can I ask what kind of camera you have? I'm in the market for a new camera before our Christmas trip. Thanks for any info. ;)

I am loving your TR.....great job! Can I ask what kind of camera you have? I'm in the market for a new camera before our Christmas trip. Thanks for any info. ;)

I have a Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS digital elph. I got it right before we left, it replaced an older model of the same camera. I played with the settings, using mostly the child/pet setting, but I tried the fireworks setting and ISO 3200 for firework and night shots and the digital macro for some close ups. I love the camera, it's small(mine is pink but it comes in other colors) and fits nicely in a small purse. I got it on sale at Target for under $200.

So after returning from O'Hana DS and DH didn't want to join me to see the EWP. So I went to the dock by myself. There were a few others there to watch along with me. The water pageant was cute, but ther was no music playing:confused:. I thought they played music for it, but I still enjoyed it. Here are some shots.

Also the fireworks from Hallowishes were going off, so you could see them behind the view of the Contemporary.

We had such a great trip. Now it was time to pack up.

UP Next- Would we be able to use a TS credit that we had cancel on Wed.?

Great report! LOL I could've written it just like you though. We flew out a week after you (10/24-10/31). My dh got sick on our first night and we also shopped for cold meds all week. Our resort gift shop only had nyquil so he was knocked out every night. He took it easy in the mornings and usually just met up with me and the boys (cuz we do RD) at whichever park we were at. It actually worked out pretty well. Oh and we're also Phillies fans and were in Disney during the 1st 2 or 3 world series games so my dh and ds's had to see at least some of the games.
