What was your favorite part about staying at the Wilderness Lodge?

So we woke up pretty early on Sat. the 24th. I finished packing and we went to WCC to see if we could use our last table service credits for breakfast.

DS had the french toast, I had the belgium waffle and DH had the pancakes. Ds like the French toast until he got a raisin, so then I shared my waffle with him. I wanted to try to hit the MK for an hour before we had to catch the ME to the airport at 1045A. DH talked me out of it, said we'd be rushed and I'd be a maniac if we were late! So we decided to explore the Lodge and get some last photos.

I loved everything about the lodge! Loved the big open lobby with the fireplace and totem poles and all the little carvings in the wood

Loved the light fixtures and carpets in the halls. It felt small and homey even though it's a large resort. I liked being close to MK and being able to take the boat there. The bus stop was not far to get toeven though our room was at the far end of the resort by the pool. The food at Roaring forks was good and the pool was nice(I like the pool at SSR better though, it has a 0 entry) I think we might stay at the villas when we return for a weekend in June with my Mom using her DVC instead of SSR. It was a great stay.

We took the ME to MCO

DS wore his Mickey ears home. When we got to the airport we checked in for our Southwest flight and of course got boarding C. We were told at this time our flight was delayed. We were 2 for 2 on flight delays this trip. So we headed upstairs and got DS lunch, he wanted Mickey D's. DH and I weren't hungry yet. So after DS ate we went through security, took the fake monorail and went to our gate.

I went to bon au pain to get DH and I sandwiches. I had the thai chicken wrap, SO GOOD, and I got DH a turkey club like sandwich. Our fligh was delayed and hour and a half, so I made DS do some of his school work.

We finally got to board and since we were in the C group we didn't get to sit together. DS and I sat on the aisle seats across from one another and DH was about 6 rows up on the aisle. We made it to PHL and my parents picked us up. It was raining in Philly, just like when we left.

I just finished reading your entire TR and truly enjoyed it! I'm so sorry your DH was sick during his trip but sounded like he was a trooper (well except for the Racing experience but glad you got to go instead!) Back in Feb 2008 I started to feel like I was coming down with a bad cold so I put drops of peroxide in my ears twice a day the week before but forgot the day of the trip. This usually has helped ward of any colds. I had a horrible sore throat the second morning & headache so I went down to the mercantile store & got plenty of orange juice, cold meds and tylenol and felt 80% better the next day. It's tough being sick at Disney (or anywhere for that matter)!
