Disney day 3

An earlier start as we had to be at breakfast for 7am. We pretty much got there at that time, Johannes put his own milk on, I got some toast from the working part of the toaster and we all ate a reasonable breakfast. We went back to the hotel, we’d pretty much packed, grabbed the bags and I took them back to the car with Johannes while Clare and Amélie took the keys back and deposited them.

We met back at the bendy-bus though Johannes and I found a dumped nappy in a car space that someone had just left , roughly where one of the doors would have been. This and the woman the first day who watched her toddler unwrap chocolate coins between the castle shops and drop the wrappers (then helped her with one and also dropped it) were the worst bits of littering we saw.:sad1:

It was a lovely morning after the previous day's rain so we left the waterproofs in the car and left the car where it was as it was so close to the bus and we reckoned it was quicker coming back there than taking it to the car park.

Amélie used the Walkie talkies we’d brought along to tell us the bus was coming as we had no idea where the room was and were parked at the opposite end of the Wyatt Earp so we ran along and all got on and got to the park for 8am.

Look how empty it was!

We did a fair bit in EMH, we managed on Dumbo, PP, and the carousel bit I mentioned actually happened this day – I got mixed up! Our last thing was Buzz – ahem moving on again after Clare tripled her previous score…. When we came out, the place was mobbed, it was almost empty when we went in. Amélie wanted to go to on BTM again so I headed for adventureland and Clare took the kids to Alice’s maze. Yet again BTM wasn’ t running and a CM was trying to tell the crowd what was happening but there were too many people talking and nobody could hear. There was still a huge queue for FP so I skipped it as we had planned to see some shows at the Studios. I met up with the kids at the maze and we took ages to get out but it was all good fun. I spotted the white rabbit and Amélie got her photo taken with him and an autograph (le lapin blanc).

We headed back to the castle and when we got to the other side, the double-decker bus was there. We jumped on and that got us a free ride to the beginning of Main Street.

We headed into Salon Mickey after leaving and it was packed. There was one seat so we gave Clare that and the kids sat on the carpet next to the fireplace and I joined them, one of the CMs brought me a chair and said “you’ll be very tired after all your walking so have a rest just now”. Lovely guy, he’s been there every time we’ve been there and is always so nice.

After that we headed out to the Studios and went to see Cinemagique for the first time – the kids sat through the whole thing mesmerised, we thought it was brilliant and will definitely go back to see it again!

After that we had a wander round then went to see Stitch Live for the first time as well. It was really well done and the kids disappeared down to the front as soon as they were invited to do so. What a fantastic show.

As we left we realised Playhouse Disney was about to start and a few people tried to sneak under the chain between the two shows but were told to leave and re-enter by the proper entrance (keeps track of numbers I suppose).

We sat down and the show began, a bit of singing and the characters appeared, we all sang a bit and Mickey told us we had to say the magic words and the house would appear. Then he disappeared and a pre-recorded message told us that this was the end of the show in about 6 languages. We all just sat there and eventually security came in and kind of ushered us all out. The next show was another 90 minutes and we were really disappointed as Johannes was really looking forward to it as Disney Jnr. is his favourite TV channel. He mentioned it the other day how he didn’t get to see the show…

We were also present at Animagique but I think only Johannes saw most of it as a hot day, and getting up early combined with the lack of sleep camping caught up and we all fell asleep apart from Johannes… What I saw was very well done though…

After we came out, Amélie dragged Clare off to do ToT again and Johannes and I had a wander round, just looking at things. We were sitting on the wall outside the attraction (well I was, he was throwing things behind it and retrieving them) when a CM asked if I was enjoying my visit. He had a tablet computer and asked if I would do a survey when I got home. I agreed and he took some details.

After that we were hungry so headed off to the blockbuster HSM themed café and I had the croque monsieur, Clare had a tuna roll and the kids had sandwiches - cheese and ham I think minus the cheese as they don’t like emmental but I do!

Amélie managed to get Jessie’s autograph as we left despite lots of kids pushing in and one adult who pushed her wee boy in despite their being a load of kids before him. He wasn’t bothered as he’d noticed Woody so her pushing was all the more rude.

On the way out Amélie spotted Goofy and wanted his autograph for Clare’s mum as he’s her favourite character. Goofy was waving goodbye by the time she got there but a few kids were pushing to try and get photos. Amélie just stood there with her autograph book and happened to be in front of Goofy as he walked away having changed direction a number of times and he stopped and signed her book.

By this time it was getting towards early evening so we wandered out to the village as we’d promised the kids could get something from the shops and we were thinking of heading back to the timeshare. We had a wander round the shops and to be honest there was a lot of overpriced rubbish and some really good stuff. In the end Johannes got a t-shirt he loved and Amélie chose a small bodied cat with a big face and they were both happy. We popped into McDonalds as the kids were a bit peckish and they shared a happy meal between them and we grabbed a coffee and a couple of three-chocolate mousses and checked email etc.

After that we found the whole area had been roped off which it turns out was for the buffalo bill parade which we stood and watched. It made us want to see it next time so it may be on the list. After that, we headed back to the bus reluctantly but we’d had a great time and tried a lot of new rides.

I wondered what these guys were doing.... :confused3

It was this: :scared1:

I suppose it's only natural.... :rotfl:

The journey back to Vincennes was fairly straightforward, we had to take the roof box off to get in the underground car park at our apartment and then carry it down the ramp to store it.

We were pretty underwhelmed with the apartment to be honest, it had comfortable beds and a sofa, lovely flat screen telly but no storage other than a cupboard with 5 big shelves in the hall and a small area sectioned off as a wardrobe in the same cupboard, nothing else and the kitchen was tiny (and pretty difficult to cook in) but it had a huge balcony. More on that later but it wasn’t nearly as nice as the accommodation we’ve had elsewhere and not a patch on the Cheyenne.

A lovely last day at Disney. :goodvibes It's a shame your apartment was a bit disappointing.

It really makes you wonder about some people. :sad2: I used to work in a bank and I remember a woman changing her baby on a table in the banking hall full of customers then walking off and leaving her deposit  behind.

Love your pictures never seen the sky so blue at Disneyland before! Is the Buffalo Bill parade advertised? Do you remember what time it was on? x

Thanks Tinks, the sky was amazing, it was one of the nicest days weather wise we've had at DLP in recent years. :cloud9::wizard:pixiedust::beach:

The parade was about 6pm according to my photos, they had roped off the area about an hour or so before but you could cross by stepping over or under the rope until the parade started. I don't know if it was advertised - my eyesight has deteriorated (old age) since last year and I couldn't read the timetable without my specs....

Hi Elaine, the department was very disapointing as we'd stayed there before in a one bedroomed apprtment with Amelie when she was one just after our timeshare company had aquired it and they promised extensive refurbishment and to be honest, the previous appartment was nicer.

The nappy we saw just looked like it was wet, unlike the one we saw in a parking spot near the Eiffel tower.... :sad2:

What an unpleasant thing to do in a bank and then leave it???? :confused3 Some people I just don't get!
