We are moving to Clermont Florida in June, so we went this past week to take care of the business of moving down. Stayed at Howard Johnson's Maingate East. Never again will I stay off property!!!! :( Although the room was visably clean, it stunk of mildew, and the smell just wouldn't go away. Wreaked havoc on my allergies to no end! The TV never did get good reception, despite having the maintainance man come to adjust it. The so called free shuttle ran twice a day to the parks... at 7:35 am and 9:35 am, and then only returned from Epcot at 9 pm... needless to say, we didn't use that service. Also, take note of the hidden "service" charge tacked on to the bill. An extra $2 per night... for what, I don't know. I seriously doubt it is for the maids, as they leave tip envelopes in the room. Now, I don't mind paying for my room, and I certainly don't mind tipping the maids, but what was the "service" charge for anyway--- the daily paper???? It would have been nice had we known about it in advance... we would have stayed at All Stars for just a bit more money!

Anyway, after the initial disappointment in our accomodations, we headed to DTD for dinner. It was rainy, but otherwise warm. We did a little shopping and ate at Wolfgang Puck Express. We split the Margherita Pizza and had a couple of beers. After, we headed back to the room. That is when we discovered the problem with the TV.

Oh well, after an almost 13 hour drive (the last bit on I-4 taking the longest amount of time--stop and go), we were ready to crash!

Sorry to hear your room isn't the greatest - good luck in finding a new home - thanks for posting!

Isnt this always the case?

From your Sig, I see youve stayed on-site before.
So Im not surprise that the room doesnt live up to expectation.

I know not all Disney resort rooms are prestine but one bitten ... ;-)

Ugh! Travel days are always the hardest - no matter where you are staying. You had a good dinner - I hope the rest of the trip is better!
