The characters: Me & my partner, with a guest appearance by my mom.

Day 1: 4pm flight on Delta Song (halleluiah they didn't strike!) from NY to MCO. After a little mishap with the city bus - I swear the driver did NOT stop at the Delta terminal, no matter how much he insists he did - we arrived at LaGuardia with plenty of time to spare before our flight. In order to enter the airport you have to go up an escalator, and there was an elderly couple in front of us. The man helped his wife onto the escalator and then tried to take their 2 rolling bags by himself. The escalator went up about 2 steps when he lost his footing and fell backwards, pretty much right into my partner. She yelled at me to push the button to stop the escalator, because this man could not get up with the escalator still moving. By the time it stopped his feet were well above his head. Finally some airport employees came to the top of the escalator and stood there like idiots until I yelled at them that we needed some help because my partner could not lift the man up by herself. He wasn't hurt, thankfully, and the employees helped him walk the rest of the way up the stopped escalator. So that was an interesting start to our trip. We ended up sitting next to them at the airport Burger King a little later, ironically.

Neither of us had flown Song before, and it was nice. Roomy seats, and the flight was not full so we got a row to ourselves. The TVs are great, we spent a good part of the flight playing the trivia game against other passengers. The service was good, just wish they gave us snacks.

We arrived at MCO at around 7pm, made our way to Magical Express, and were at the All-Star Music within a half an hour. We checked in and went directly to the food court because I was starving (stupid Delta & their no snacks!). At the food court we were un-pleasantly surprised to see groups of very scantily clad cheerleaders. I thought there weren't supposed to be any cheerleading or similar events that week, but oh well. At least we didn't really run into them in the parks. After eating we went to our room in the Broadway building. Our bags hadn't arrived yet, so we went for a swim because we'd remembered to pack our bathing suits in our carryon. It was a bit chilly though, so we didn't stay out too long. Went back to the room and looked over our park maps, etc. and twiddled our thumbs waiting for our bags to arrive. Note for next time - pack shampoo & things needed for a shower in the carryon bag too. It ended up taking 4-5 hours after we landed for our bags to arrive, so as soon as they did we got ready for bed so we'd be all ready for our first big day in the parks!

Day 2: EPCOT! We ate breakfast in the food court at the hotel - love those Mickey waffles! - and were on our way to the park by 9. We'd wanted to be there before opening, but that didn't quite happen. Oh well. We made a beeline to Soarin', got a FastPass, then headed over to Test Track. Pretty much walked right on, LOVED IT, and got right back in line for a 2nd go. When we got off we grabbed a FastPass. Hey, we liked Test Track a LOT. By then it was time for our Soarin' FastPass, but when we got over there it was broken down! So we tried to get in line for Living with the Land, but that was broken down too! Apparently that whole pavilion was having issues. So because everyone else seemed to be heading for the Living Seas, we decided to do Spaceship Earth & were able to walk right on. After SE we went back to the Land to see if everything was up & running again, and it was! Yay! So we rode Soarin'. It was good, but didn't really live up to the hype. Then we grabbed a Coke from the food court and tried to get in line for Living with the Land. The nice CM informed us that we couldn't have our drink in line, because too many people spill things. So since we'd just bought it and she was nice she gave us a FastPass so we could sit & finish our drink and not have to get at the end of the (growing) line when we were done.

After Living with the Land, it was food time. We wanted to eat lunch in a country, so we headed over there and perused menus from Mexico to Morrocco before my somewhat picky vegetarian self found something I'd eat. We went to the Tangerine Cafe, and even though they didn't understand that I wanted the sandwich without the meat, I ended up with a good plate of hummus, greens, bread and tzatsiki (sp?) sauce and made my own hummus sandwich. Yummy. My partner had the chicken wrap, which came with sides of tabouleh & lentils. Yummy. After lunch we caught the American Adventure show, then headed back into Future World for our Disney Visa photo op with Minnie & Goofy. We stopped at Club Cool on the way and my partner made me try Beverly. They were out of the best sodas, the Japanese & Chinese ones, but they did have an orange Coke that was good. After our photo op we decided we could use 45 minutes of sitting down, so we did Ellen's Energy Adventure. Heh. Then we went to use our FastPass for our last Test Track ride (of that day, hehe) and headed into World Showcase. We mosied through each country, stopping to do the rides in Mexico & Norway, until our 6pm dinner reservation at Alfredo's. I don't care what any review on the dining board says, that place is GOOD. I had the trio plate, with the fettucine alfredo substituted for the meat lasagna. My partner had the lasagna. We shared the dessert sampler, with cappucinos. YUM.

After dinner we mosied through more countries, continuing clockwise towards Canada. We never did make it as far as Canada though, that day. We spotted a little terrace area across from France, right before the bridge between France & the UK, and decided that was our spot for Illuminations. It was still early though, so we spent a little more time in countries. My partner wanted to go to the UK to find a Cadbury DoubleDecker bar, so we did that, and took pictures with the topiaries of Pooh, Tigger, & Eyeore and Piglet. We'd actually spent a lot of time all day taking photos of & with the topiaries. They're very cool.

Then we went to stake out our spot for Illuminations. We duck-watched, and my partner had to go all the way to Morrocco to find a bathroom. Our spot was great and the show was great. And we were that much closer to the exit when it was over. Earlier in the day we'd thought about going to Magic Kingdom for EMH that night, but we were way too tired. We just went back tot he hotel to get some rest, because my mommy was arriving bright and early the next morning. :)

To be continued...

Sorry for the long intermission, on to...

Day 3: My mom arrived early this morning from Ft. Myers, turned in the wrong direction and ended up in the AS Sports parking lot (no Mom, not huge Cokes, Broadway!). But she eventually found her way & got parked next to our building at AS Music. We got a bite to eat in the food court, then headed out to Magic Kingdom!

First thing we did was go to La Chappeaux (sp?) and pick me up a Tinkerbelle visor. I'd found it in the hotel shop the other night, but there was only one left and I hesitated on buying it and of course the next day it was gone. So I figured a store called "The Hats" would have it. :)

Next we got back to our plan and headed for Frontierland. My mom & my partner rode Splash Mtn. Here's a tip - ride it first thing in the morning and you get to just walk on. They were sending boats down empty because there was absolutely no one waiting yet. Then we went to Thunder Mtn and rode on standby because the line was only 10 minutes. When we got off we picked up a FastPass for later. Then we did the Country Bear Jamboree... it needs refurbishment, it's a little on the stale side. Then we headed into Liberty Square and did the Hall of Presidents. Next we did Haunted Mansion - love them ghosties! - and then it was time for our Thunder Mtn FastPass. Woo! Then we finally left Frontierland for good (haha) and went into Adventureland.

In Adventureland we started with Pirates of the Caribbean - yo ho yo ho, a pirate's life for me! I'm so glad this was open for the month of April, it's one of my favorites. Then we went to Jungle Cruise, but the wait was 50 minutes, so we grabbed a FastPass & decided to break for lunch at Columbia Harbour House. Yum. Then after lunch we did the Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Room. And we're now finished with the right side of the park. :thumbsup2

Next we headed into Fantasyland, and rode almost everything - Small World, Snow White, and Winnie the Pooh - with waits of about 20 minutes. The only thing that had a long line was Peter Pan, so we grabbed a FastPass for that one. We broke for ice cream at Mrs. Potts - yummy! - then went over to Toon Town to try Goofy's Barnstormer. My mom sat that one out because she thought we were silly riding the kiddie coaster, but my partner & I both liked it, it's a really cute little ride. Then we went back to Fantasyland & used our FastPass for Peter Pan.

Next up - Tomorrowland! First we grabbed a FastPass for Space Mtn. This was going to be my first time ever riding it. I'm not a coaster person, in general. I don't like big drops, and I always sat out of Space Mtn as a kid because I couldn't see it so I didn't know what it would be. But my partner talked me into trying it and assured me it is not scary. Anyway... while we waited for our FastPass return time, we rode the TTA and did Carousel of Progress (another one of my favorites). Then it was time for Space. I LOVED IT! It's just like Thunder only in the dark & a little faster/more thrilling. No big drops. We immediately got another FastPass. :) Then we did Buzz Lightyear, another new one for me. It was a lot of fun but my partner & my mom both kicked my butt on points, haha. We may have done something else in here to kill time, but I don't remember, so we'll just say we rode Space Mtn again, and grabbed yet another FastPass. Then we stopped for dinner at Cosmic Ray's.

After dinner it still wasn't time for our last Space FP, so we decided to walk back over to Frontierland for a last ride on Thunder. We cut across in front of Cinderella's Castle, where they were already starting to set up for the parade. After Thunder it was time for our Space FP, so we took the long walk back to Tomorrowland. My mom decided to sit this one out, so it was just me and my DP. By the time we got off it was about 8:30 so we decided to just grab a seat in Tomorrowland Terrace for Wishes. We could see bits of Spectromagic as it passed on Main Street. We're not parade people so we hadn't planned on watching it anyway. Then we were right under where Tinkerbelle lands and had a great view for Wishes.

By this time I was asleep on my feet, so we went back to the hotel & crashed.

To be continued... again...

sounds like you were definitely having a good time. Can't wait to hear more.

Day 4: Animal Kingdom & MGM! :cool1:

Grabbed some breakfast at the hotel and made it to AK not too long after opening. We made a beeline for Everest, grabbed FastPasses, and then got in the standby line since it was still only about 20 minutes long. WOOT! We ended up being seated in the last car, which made me nervous, but it was awesome, even to a ride wimp like me. The backwards part is really really cool and does make you feel a little bit like you're going upside down. The "big drop" caught me a little by surprise the first time but it's over really fast and didn't keep me from loving the ride. :)

It wasn't time for our FP yet, so we went over to Dinoland and rode Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur. And my partner would like everyone to know that the T-Rex did not scare her this time. :rotfl2:

After that it was time for our FP so we went back over to EE. It was even better the second time, because I knew what was coming. By this time we needed a little break, so we stopped for some ice cream. I had a frozen banana & my mom & DP had Mickey bars. :mickeybar Then we finished up Asia by doing Kali River Rapids. I GOT SOAKED! My mom & DP stayed relatively dry somehow, but my pants were dripping wet by the end. We had three people in our raft wearing ponchos as well, which I always think is funny.

Then we headed over to the Safari, but the wait was long so we grabbed a FP and decided to check out It's Tough to be a Bug. It was a cute show except for all the crying kids! After that we walked all the way around the mulberry bush to find Pizzafari, which we'd passed on the way in, but the show lets out on the opposite side of the tree so we got a bit confused. We eventually found it though & had a really good lunch. After lunch it was finally time for our Safari FP. My DP was worried that all the animals would be sleeping by this time (around 1pm) but we saw the cutest elephants! A mommy & baby were playing in the water together and it was so adorable. We saw lots of other animals too - giraffes, hippos, rhinos, alligators, and lots of little antelope/deer-like creatures. The only things we missed were the big cats, the cheetahs & lions.

And then it was on to MGM! I think we left AK around 2pm and were to MGM by around 2:30. The first thing we did was go get a FP for my mom & DP for Rockin' Rollercoaster. It's my DP's favorite ride in the whole world so we had to make sure she got to ride it. Then we did the Great Movie Ride, and by the time we came off it was time for their FP for RnR. They went on the ride and my ride wimp self sat on the wall and waited for them. DP says I have to ride this at some point in my life, but I say we'll see about that. When they came off the ride we grabbed them some more FPs so DP could get a second ride. After that we went and did the Backlot Tour. We had a 5:50 ADR at H&V and were a bit concerned we wouldn't be finished with the tour in time, but we had plenty of time. The tour is pretty much the same as always, except I don't ever remember seeing Walt's private plane before.

Anyway... we actually got out of the tour in time to be early for our ADR so we grabbed a seat on the patio & waited. Dinner was very good, we all got plenty to eat. After dinner my mom & DP used their FPs for RnR, and I sat on the wall again. :) It took them a while to get through, even with the FP, so by the time they came off it was almost 8pm & we had to go get our seats for the 8:30 Fantasmic. (We did the dinner & show package.) This was mine & my mom's first time seeing it, and it was awesome.

Then we went back to the hotel and took a short swim in the piano pool. It was a little bit cold... maybe it was the new "cold pool rule" in effect? Once the lifeguard went off-duty at 10pm it became overrun with cheerleaders practicing their stunts in the pool anyway, so we just went to the food court to grab a drink and then called it a night.

Up next... Typhoon Lagoon, bluezoo, and the Burger King!
