It's been a week since we got back from our first trip to WDW and man do we miss it already. In short, we had the time of our lives. Here are some of the details for us.
We arrived on August 1st at Orlando Airport. That in itself was some kind of experience. From there as most of you have done we took the Disney bus to our resort. We stayed at the WL. If you have never seen it in person the pictures on the internet do it no service. It was awesome.
At the desk I joked that if the presidential suite was not taken I would not object to them giving it to us. The cast member smiled, said unfortunately it was taken but he has a very nice upgrade for us. The Magic of Disney he called it. He gave us our room keys and told us they possessed magical powers.(LOL) Those powers were that they gave us access to the top floor of the hotel and the concierge(sp) service. Not bad, continental breakfast, snacks during the day, wine & cheese, beer, and cordials or a good stiff drink to wind down.
We ended up eating at Narcoosee’s, Liberty Tree Tavern(character dining), Akershus Royal Hall(princess diner),Whispering Canyon, and 50’s Prime Time Diner. Everyone of the restaurants was a good experience and would recommend any of them.
And lastly, we loved the place so much that we decided we had to visit the DVC information center. After a couple of hours with “Bobby from Brooklyn” we decided without hesitation that this was for us. They gave us a nice $1,600 dollar credit toward our investment(250 points), a free 160 points valid right away, and negotiated an additional 8 immediate fast passes(on top of the 4 given) good for the rest of our stay. For us it was easy to write a check and invest in our future trips. Anyhow, I’m sure I bored you all enough.
Sorry all, I still can't figure out how to get the pictures to show instead of the links. Dang, I'm old and hate computers. LOL
