Our First Trip as Parents! December 2012 TR - 8/6 OMG a TR link!

Today we're leaving for the coast and I originally wasn't planning on taking my computer to get on the DIS, but now that I see the forecast calls for rain, i'm taking it. We're going to be wine tasting through Paso Robles too, so we'll see if i'll be at all to get an update in. Wine and typing?! Not the best combination so we'll see what happens :lmao:

Have a great time! It will be blizzarding on this coast!

Really enjoying your updates of MVMCP Lesha, it looked like a great thing to do for your 'date night' with DH!

I really enjoyed the cookies & cocoa at the party too, we got some quite late on in the night and the CM gave us six! We took them back to our room to eat the next day :goodvibes

Emma princess: x

What a fun evening! The Ariel interaction is just so funny :lmao:

Glad you were able to have some quality DH time.

Hope you have a fabulous time on the coast :)

I feel so behind on commenting on everyone's TR's. I need to get back into it. Love your updates. My husband would have the same grin on his face with the princesses. On our honeymoon we had breakfast at Cinderella's castle and my husband was very happy...haha Sounds like a really nice date night. :) Great pictures.

Hope you have fun wine tasting. Tasting wine and typing is a lot of fun for all of us to read...haha I love when my friends drunk type or text.

I've been away for a few days so have only just caught up

The story of DH meeting Ariel just cracked me up !

Sounds like you had a great time at the Christmas Party :)

So your DH was smitten with Ariel? :rotfl2: That's too funny!

Sounds like you were having a blast at the party.

I love that one part of Wishes were they little round fireworks look like they are right on the castle. It looks so cool.

Haha your poor DH! Mine would have been exactly the same!

So glad you enjoyed MVMCP, we liked the cookies and hot chocolate too. Aren't the fireworks awesome? I just love the part when the castle is transformed into a Christmas tree.

I don't have any plans to go, but I definitely want to, and I'm always looking for the right opportunity.

The conference that I went to in Nashville last month is scheduled for San Diego in 2015... I don't know for sure that I'll be going to the conference that year, but if I do, I'll be getting a rental car and stay out west a couple of extra days. :thumbsup2

Have fun! Sometimes wine and typing can be a good combination. Entertaining anyway! :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

So glad you loved the party!

I'm with your Mom, I love having some down time at Disney to do 'normal' things...never been the commando type in the parks. That is too exhausting for me! Haha. :)

Wow! That wine really kept me away for a bit! :lmao: Our trip was a success and we bought quite a bit of wine. Well, maybe not as much as some people on here (not naming any names, ALISON! :rotfl2:) but we came back with about 15 bottles. And no, we're not alcoholics.....we're wine-oholics :thumbsup2

This past week was a little crazy so I haven't been able to catch up on everyone's TR's, so I'll get to that right now, and then i'll post my next update tomorrow.

I hope you're putting the cabinet to good use and have found a source for a compressor that DH can install. I had to replace mine on the new cabinet and from the manufacturer they charges $900 for the thing and installation, :scared1: but my wines are now being nicely cooled again.

We don't buy them in bulk anymore because they ship them to us every month or so! :rotfl2:

Glad you had a good trip and looking forward to your updates!

We have about 60 bottles in the cabinet and 15 in the smaller one. We haven't even fixed the motor yet but the room that it's in is always super cold in there anyway so the bottles are chilled. Not sure if that's good for the red, but fine for our whites!

As soon as the fireworks were over, we started making our way back towards Frontier land. It was a little difficult maneuvering through the crowd because it seemed everyone was trying to get to Main Street, which was great for us! DH wanted to check on the line for the 7 Dwarfs before finding a spot for the parade. We walked over to where they were, and wouldnt you know&.there were only 10-15 people in line! What the heck! From all my researching, Ive heard that the 7 Dwarfs is the longest line for characters. And this looked like a 15 minute wait, if that! We quickly hopped in line before and about 10 minutes later (including their 5 minute break) we were meeting them!

First DH

42655910159.jpg

Then the two of us together. He told the dwarfs, No one touch my wife, shes mine! So Grumpy gets up off his seat and grabs me and wouldnt let go, which makes for quite an awkward but funny picture!

42655910160.jpg

42655910165.jpg

He did end up letting go so I could take a group shot with just me
42655910169.jpg

42655910175.jpg

DH said afterwards that the dwarf (to the right of him) kept making a noise and a movement, and he thought the dwarf was trying to play with him. It ended up being Sneezy and he was sneezing on DH :lmao: Not gonna lie. This completely made my night. I never, ever expected to do any type of character meet, much less the one that was the worst to get to! Anything else that happened after this night was more icing on the cake.

The parade starts at the end of Frontier land and I wanted to be somewhere near the start of the parade. It was now around 10:10pm and there was hardly any people. Completely shocked! We grabbed a street seat catty-corner to Pecos Bill but I wanted to make a quick shopping run to the Frontier Trading Post to grab a MVMCP pin. There was quite a selection of pins and I didnt know which one to choose so I ended up stalking two women who were completely decked out in lanyards and covered in pins. They said that this one was pretty cool and hadnt seen many similar to it, so of course, I grabbed it to! :rotfl2:

I went back outside and found that a few more people had sat down around DH but nothing like Ive seen for parades. It was so nice to not have to fight with crowds. And soon the parade started!

Isn't the party great? Love your pictures with the dwarfs.

Cute pictures with you and the dwarves! The party looks like a lot of fun, and so nice not to have to brave the crowds.

Technically the wines (reds too) should be stored at around 56 degrees Fahrenheit. The cooler on my cabinet went out late last year, and it kept beeping every time it got too hot. I'd reset it and 24 hours later it would go off again. So annoying. The temps got up as high as 70 degrees in the cooler, so I hope the wines will still be OK when I take them out in 5-10 years or so.

And then it happened. The worst thing that could happen to a DIS’er at WDW. My camera died! So the rest of the pictures are iPhone pictures

Loved the parade! We’re not really parade people, but this was fantastic. Maybe it was the lack of people or the smell of gingerbread and chocolate from some of the floats or our amazing view or the great soundtrack but we loved it! Definitely a must.

It was now 11pm and thought it would be a good time to start making our way out of the park. We saw a small line forming of maybe 3 people across the way from the Country Bear Jamboree attraction and heard from the CM that some bears were coming out, after the show lets out of course since they can’t be in two places at once ;) The doors for the CBJ opened up and two bears came out from somewhere :confused3 and in no time we were meeting Liver Lips and Big Al

I was so worried about paying so much money and having to deal with a lot of crowds but I guess during the middle of the week is much better than the weekends.

That part of the house is usually 64-65 degrees, so not close to 56 but it's definitely not warm at all in there. It will be even cooler in there during the Summer when we use our A.C.

We heard some music coming from the Diamond Horseshoe and noticed it was one of the Dance Parties and this one was, “Woody’s Hootin’ Holiday” party. I wanted to check it out and this is what we saw

Woody dancing like a mad man! He certainly had some moves.:dancer: And you can see Jessie in the back there too. Such a fun idea for kids! I’m sure the parents love it to. Their secret plan to get their children all tuckered out. Brilliant! :thumbsup2

As we were walking slowly to Main Street, we saw this woman walking with permanent crutches and around her crutches where Christmas lights. It was actually pretty cool and we told her how much we liked them. She said she had gotten a lot of compliments on them that night and they were mainly more for people to not knock her or her crutches down in the dark, but they turned out to be a complete eye catcher.

Ugh, how I wish my camera didn’t die! The castle looked beautiful.

It didn’t take us long to get to the bus stop. In fact, that last picture was taken at 11:17pm and I texted my mom at 11:26pm that we were on a bus coming home…ahh, I like the sound of ‘home’. DH and I talked all the way home about how much we enjoyed the party and were so happy that we decided to do it. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip for us.

When we got back to our room, this is what we saw

DS was sleeping in DM’s bed and not in his Pack n’Play. Oh well, he looked comfy and didn’t want to disturb him, so we left him alone. Tomorrow we were switching resorts and going to be on our favorite dining plan!

Awesome photos from the party

Love the ones of you and DH with the dwarfs :)

I always thought you had like a one hour line to get to meet them!
