Our first trip and our honeymoon at Disney World, what could go wrong?

Great report- I loved your wedding cake. So I am curious since you have been to both now- which Universal do you prefer? My husband and I have never been to either, but we want to try them. Is the Florida one better and we should wait to go there, or is the California one just as fun?

Looks like you had fun, can't wait to read more.

I agree...Space Mountain at DL is MUCH better..it's an entirely different ride. I like the fact you can't see the track; gives it that much more mystery. And I think the loading area is SOOOO much smoother. From what I understand, the Space Mountain at WDW is going to have a new queue area where you can't see the track?!?!?!

Alien Encounter was so much more intense but I think Imagineers wanted it to be a little more tame. I think we'll skip Stitch's Great Escape!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Haunted Mansion..as well as BTMRR--of course you can't compare it to DL!!! Even It's A Small World is entirely different, which is the whole point :) I never go to ride HM at DL :(

I love the pictures by the way.

Space Mountain at DL is very awesome, it is really dark in there so you can't see and that does make it ten times better. I hope when WDW does whatever they are going to do to it they make it better then what it is now.

The haunted mansion is okay at DL but WDW is really cool. The only time I really love the mansion here is when they change it to the Nightmare Before Christmas theme, then it's awesome, totally worth the line to see it.

I'm so glad you like all my pictures! :goodvibes

OMG...we were at the Magic Kingdom this day! I searched your pictures for myself and didn't see me, but the next day I am at Epcot so I will look for me again in your pictures. Check out my Day 7 and look for you in my pictures! LOL

The fireworks were delayed because of a Medivac chopper it flew over once, then back again 20 minutes later, then Wishes started!

That's so funny! I did look through your pics and I didn't see us and I also looked through the rest of ours but again didn't see you. I'm sure we passed each other at some point though. :)

Good to know the real reason why wishes was delayed, everybody we asked including cast members kept telling us because of wind. To bad we still missed it. :sad2:

OMG I love those pictures of you two!!! So romantic; nothing like standing in front of Cinderella's Castle with your significant other :)

Thank you! We did get very lucky with those pictures and the photopass person was just awesome.

This is the thing about Universal Hollywood, it's really small and cramped. That being said there are some things that we have that Orlando does not that make it worth going but not enough to pay the full price to get in. In my opinion you will be disapointed and mad that you spent that much money. If however you can get discounted tickets or get in for free somehow then by all means head on over. Of course some people prefer Hollywood because, well it's in Hollywood for one and there is a good chance you will see celebrities, especially on the backlot tour. If you end up going to Hollywood and it's off season and the park is not crowded you will be able to finish the entire park in less then half a day. That gives you an idea of how small it is.

Now Orlando is great for one because it's big and spread out so you don't feel cramped at all. Plus everything is on one level, Hollywood is on the side of a hill so we have these escalators you have to take to get to the tram and to get to the lower lot area, kinda annoying because it's take a long time to get down them. Orlando also has more rides then we do and they are better then ours and of course Islands of Adventure is there and that park is equally as awesome. CityWalk in Orlando is also huge and by far better then the one in Hollywood. Both parks are expensive but if I had to pay to see one it would be Orlando. Just make sure if you go to Orlando's you also go to IOA.

I hope this helped you somewhat to make a decision. Happy travels to you, and whatever you decide I hope you will let me know how it was. :)

I've been to both Universal in Hollywood and Florida...went to Hollywood a LONG time ago..and Florida in 1995--and I liked Universal Florida better :) But that's just me.

I forgot to mention in the last installment that DH had called the Disney Dining line at some point during our day at the MK to try and get us breakfast ressies for the Kona Cafe. I had been bugging him about the Tonga Toast I had heard so much about and was mad because I had not made any reservations to eat anywhere and really I wanted to try it. Long story short, he managed to get us reservations for 8:30am. So now it's Nov. 8th and this was one of two days that I managed to haul my butt out of bed and be out the door before 9am. We get ourselves over to the Poly and I just love that resort, it's so pretty. I must make time on our return trip to explore all the resorts better.

http://

http://

So we wait for about 5 min. or so then we are called. I'm so excited I'm going to get to eat Tonga Toast. :cool1: This is what DH had to eat, don't remember what it was called but he really loved it.

http://

AND THEN MINE!

http://

It was really, really good but boy was it alot of sugar for that early in the morning. I had to eat it slow because it was so sweet but that was okay, I savored every bite. After we finished eating and had a whole bunch of cups of coffee we decided to leave the car at the poly and take the monorail over to Epcot. And off we go. Some pics along the way.

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

So we get off the monorail and get inside the park and of course the first thing I do is find a photopass person.

http://

http://

Then it was off towards the World Showcase. As we had started walking over we began notice it was going to be another very hot day. It felt more like we had gone to Florida in the summer not in Nov. Even the locals we had talked to said it was unseasonably warm. Just our luck.

Thanks for the info about the two Universals. I like hearing different opinions and hopefully one day we'll try both, but next time we are in Disneyland, I'll have to see if my husband's work provides discount tickets or anything that might make it worth a half day there. And you Universal Orlando pics are great- I'll definitely have to try it next trip.

I love your pictures of the Polynesian and Contemporary :) I've always been fascinated with the Contemporary..it's a very unique building--the Poly, well it's in a class all by itself too!! :)

Okay so I left off with DH and I heading to the World Showcase. We decided to turn left and head into Mexico first.

http://

We had fun walking around inside the pyramid and looking at all stuff to buy. We went on the little boat ride it was only a 5 min. wait so we figured why not. It was cute and we liked it.

http://

http://

After we left the pyramid, I was dying of thirst and of course we spotted the stand that has the rainbow margaritas so we got in line.

http://

It was loooong line, but soon enough we had our treats.

http://

Now keep in mind the only reason we returned to Epcot on this day was to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival but it was so hot and crowded that we didn't really end up getting to much food or wine we didn't think it was worth the long lines to try everything. So for most of this trip around the world we ended up just browsing and stopping for photos.

So we headed out of the Mexico Pavillion without having tried any yummy treats except for our drinks. I wasn't to disapointed since DH is mexican anyway and we are always eating yummy mexican food.

We get to the Norway Pavillion and I'm disapointed because I wanted to ride Maelstrom but we had our drinks and there was no way we were both going to guzzle them down, they were very, very strong. So we ended up just walking around and going in the shops but again not getting any food or wine to try.

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

Up next we head into China for a bit.

/
The Mexico Pavillion is probably my favorite...it's just so unique..well all the countries are. Canada is my second and the rest, well they're all equal :)

What a great trip report - love every word and photo! IKt's great to see Universal pictures too.

Don't keep us waiting too long for the next installment :thumbsup2

So we head into China and get some pictures here.

http://

http://

We actually ended up getting some food to try in China but I don't remember what it was and we apparently did not get any photos of it either. I do remember that it was yummy though and was wishing that they gave you bigger portions. After chowing down the food we opted not to go see the Reflections of China show on this trip. My feet had started hurting now and the less standing still I did the better. Off to Germany we went.

http://

I noticed just after we got to Germany that this guy was doing photos a few feet away so I of course grabbed hubby's hand and off we went.

http://

http://

So after our Dopey encounter we headed back into Germany to look around. I really, really wanted to get some food and drinks here because I'm half German. Of course we never did, the lines were really, really long in this country for some reason and so DH didn't want to wait in line for such small portions of food. :sad2: O'well, we continued looking around and taking pictures.

http://

http://

We seriously thought about buying some of this but we didn't.

http://

I fell in love with the little train setup they had, I thought it was really cute and took lots of pictures of it.

http://

http://

http://

Then I fell in love with this sign and I asked everybody around DH and I if they would take a picture of us under it and would you believe nobody would and most of the people I asked just ignored me. Talk about crabby people. I gave up finally and just took a picture of it.

http://

Coming up next we head into Italy!

Your so very welcome. I hope you have a fabulous time when you go to either one. Later on in my TR we get to IOA so stick around and you can see pictures from there as well. :goodvibes

The poly looked like a great place just from the small portion we saw and the contemporary did look very interesting. On future trips we would like to spend time exploring the different resorts further.

I thought all the pavillions are great I couldn't really pick a fav. They are so well done and absolutely gorgeous.

What a great trip report - love every word and photo! IKt's great to see Universal pictures too.

Don't keep us waiting too long for the next installment :thumbsup2

Hello! :wave2: I'm so glad you like my TR and all my photos. I'm currently working on a bunch of installments so stay tuned. :goodvibes

So we enter the Italy pavillion and it's just gorgeous. I could not get over the buildings, very cool.

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

Then we of course had some photopass pictures taken in front of the fountain.

http://

Hubby and I had been so busy taking photos we didn't even notice what food they had in this pavillion so needless to say we again did not get anything. We headed out of Italy and I stopped to take this photo before moving on.

http://

Off we went to head into the U.S.A. Pavillion.

http://

I really don't have any good pictures from this area because we had an incident here and I was put in a bad mood for a bit. This is what happened. I had started to have a bad asthma attack from the heat and really needed to use my inhaler. Well because I had that tube attached to the inhaler I was kinda self conscious about pulling it out and using it in front of a bunch of people. I thought about taking a puff without the tube attached but I didn't think it would do any good. So DH and I look around for a spot that I can go hide and be discreet about it until I could get my asthma under control again. We head over to the stroller parking area behind the American Adventure building, there are some people over there but not that many. So I go ahead and get my contraption together and take a puff, turned out I needed to take like three puffs to get it under control. Well just as I was taking the last puff I look out and there is this lady watching me and she looks terrified, I mean seriously terrified. Now she was about 10 feet away from me and I could hear her if she talked loud enough and she did. I heard her tell her husband "Look at that girl, she is smoking pot right here in front of everyone". I couldn't believe she said that, and it was loud enough for other people to hear as well and so now they all turned to look and see what I had. Now I must admit the inhaler attached to the tube does look weird but it most certainly does not look like a bong of some sort. After the shock of what she said wore off I decided to be a real b****. The lady finally realized I was looking right at her and so she quickly told her husband lets go and they started walking away. I began to follow her the whole time holding the inhaler in my hand, clearly visible to everyone who looked. I even took a few puffs right behind her. The lady was freaking out by now and my DH was laughing his butt off the entire time. Finally she goes into a store and I follow right behind her. Her husband then stops and turns to me and says "My wife and I would appreciate it if you would stop following us and please put your smoking utensil away". I looked him in the eye and said "My husband and I would appreciate it if your wife would refran from being an ignorant person and blurting out something that is not the case in front of a bunch of people unless she knows for sure what she is talking about". I then showed him the inhaler up close so he could read it and see that it was in fact medicine. His wife this whole time was cowering behind him, she all of a sudden had nothing to say. I said some more choice words to them and then walked away. Oh I was so mad and I just wanted to punch her in the face. How can people be so stupid, at least if somebody thinks they see something bad, don't say it out loud and if it's bothering you that much, just go up to the person and say something then. Anyway it took a bit for me to calm down and so DH took me back into the store and bought me an adorable little Donald statue they had to try and get my mind off of it. It worked and I love my statue. So after a less then desirable visit to the U.S.A. Pavillion we headed out to visit Japan.

Okay so we get to the Japan pavillion and DH is thrilled. He loves it. We spend a great deal of time here walking around and taking photos. Of course though we have no food. :sad2:

http://

http://

http://

http://

We both loved that huge store they have here and could have spent a great deal of money on some very cool things but we restrained ourselves, mostly because it would not fit in the suitcases to get it home. :p

Then it was off to Morocco!

http://

We actually ended up getting some food and wine here. I don't remember exactly what it was but it had scallops in it and the wine was a merlot.

http://

It was pretty yummy, I love anything with scallops in it.

http://

http://

http://

We really liked it in Morocco and took hundreds of photos it was set up really cool. Also got these photopass pictures taken before we headed out and we found another food we wanted to try. Some kind of pita bread thing, also very yummy.

Continued in next post......

http://

http://

http://

http://

So we finished up our little pita thing and headed over to France.

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

The France pavillion is beautiful and I can't wait to get back and take some more pictures especially at night. As we were leaving a photopass person was on the bridge so of course we stopped. Oh and yes we didn't get any food or wine in France either. :sad2:

Will continue in a little bit, time to eat a late dinner!

Epcot/WDW or whatever you want to call it :) does an awesome job in theming...I mean it's what they do best. And the detail that goes into everything in phenomenal.

I am sorry you had a bad experince. For one she should have taken one look (if that) and kept walking away. Doesn't she realize there aren't any illegal drugs allowed in the park AND your bags are searched upon park entering? DUH!!! And two, she had NO right to blurt out what she said so everyone around her could hear.

If it had of been me in your situation I would have definitely said something to her!!!

Kat, your inhaler incident was horrible, but so funny when you tell the story. Some people are quick to judge.

Besides that it sounds like you are really enjoying your trip and that is what matters. Your pictures continue to be wonderful. My DH and I have almost the exact same photo in front of the fountain in Italy.

Cheers! :flower3:

Hi:wave2: I found your TR yesterday and am finally caught up.

Sorry about the asthma:sad1:. It stinks I know, my two youngest and myself have it. So far we've been ok for vacations though.:)

My sister also got married on Halloween this past year. But it was because she didn't have to get her kids out of school.

Also sorry about the rude people you met. Glad you "stalked" that one lady:smooth:. Some people need to learn to mind their own business. Or at least have their facts straight.

You guys got some really great pics.:goodvibes

Can't wait to read and see more.pixiedust:

Yeah that lady was a piece of work but I think she might think twice about saying stuff out loud after I followed her.

Hello! I know, after I reread the installment about that lady I was laughing. It must have been a sight to see for innocent bystanders. ;)

Hubby and I did have a fabulous time even with the rough start and the ups and downs along the way. You really can't help but have a great time when it involves Disney. :goodvibes

Hi! :wave2: Thank you for reading and most of all so glad you are enjoying it and all the pictures I keep posting. :)

Your lucky to have never had issues with your asthma on vacation, I will knock on wood now that you didn't jinx yourself by talking about it. :)

Congrats to your sister and I hope she and her husband have many happy Halloween anniversaries.

I'm pretty sure my "stalking" scared the crap out of that lady and hopefully she learned a lesson. I know her husband looked mortified after showing him the inhaler up close and personal. :rotfl:

Okay so I last left off saying I would be right back and just going to eat a late dinner. That turned out to be a long dinner huh? :rotfl: Anyway, sorry for the delay, I was again side tracked by DH and just never made it back to the computer.

So I believe we had been heading out of France and stopping for several photopass pictures before entering the UK pavillion. Here is one more pic I have to share with you.

http://

Upon entering the UK pavillion I went nuts. I love everything British and would give anything to get to London one day. I ran around this pavillion like crazy looking at everything. Again though, we didn't have any food. :sad2: After I finished running around we just kinda sat and enjoyed the atmosphere for awhile. I struck up a lovely conversation with a couple visiting from London, I could have talked to them all night, LOVE the accents.

http://

http://

http://

http://

As we started to walk away from one of the shops I noticed Tigger inside, so I grabbed DH and as soon as we walked in Tigger left but the CM standing there said he would be back in a little bit so we waited around. While standing there another CM came up and said we should go to the back of the store because that was were the characters were going to be. Well had the first CM said that to us we would have caught Mary Poppins but by the time we got in the line she was leaving so we just waited for Tigger and friends to come back. We got some cute pictures of Mary Poppins meet and greet area while waiting and then some cute pictures of Tigger and the gang.

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

We finished with our pictures and then headed outside to find the sun had gone down. I took some more pictures of the UK pavillion at night time as we headed into Canada.
