We just got back from our 8 day Disney trip a couple of days ago, and it was wonderful! (for the most part, but I'll get to that later on.)
It was me, DD3 and DH. Here are DD3 and DH:
I'm still uploading our photos, and when I come to one of me, I'll be sure to post it.
The airport van picked us up on time around 7:30am on Tuesday, and we headed off to Logan for our 11:10am flight. Our checked luggage was just underweight (thank goodness!) and all of our carry-ons were just under the limit (something we had been stressing over for 2 days). We packed most of our clothing in our carry-ons, just in case anything got lost, we didn't want to start our vacation on the wrong foot. It's amazing how much you can pack in one of those little bags! I packed all of my clothes and shoes in just one bag!
Our Jetblue flight took off on time and we landed as planned around 2:20pm. When I learned how far away from the gate the DME was, I was extremely thankful that I decided to take DD's stroller with us and check it at the gate. It was such an easy thing to do, and without it, I just know the walk to DME would have been sheer torture for everyone.
We waited for our DME bus to the Poly for what seemed like an eternity, but it was probably more like a half hour. It was just a long time to have to stand there after travelling since 7:30am, but we were very thankful that the Poly would be the very first stop.
Entering the Poly was everything I expected it to be!! It was beautiful, with lush greens and waterfalls. So soothing and relaxing! We were all greeted with a nice "Aloha" and pretty lei. My DD got a kick out of the "Aloha" and yelled it to almost every guest she saw for the next 2 days, until our trip started to go downhill a bit.
We requested a groundfloor room with a patio looking at the water, and our request was granted with room 1302 in the Fiji building. We walked around a bit to see if we wanted to request a different building, but we decided that our room and view of the beach and GF was just perfect! It was really close to the Grand Ceremonial house and volcano pool, both which proved to be very convenient during the week. We could also hear the Luau going on each night, which was fun.
After we got to our room and walked around the Poly for a few minutes, we cleaned up and headed to Magic Kingdom on the monorail. Oh how convenient the monorail from the Poly is!!!
