Our first MAYniac cruise pre-trip report..pics added! May 2/09 Western- Upd April 16

Part 9....it all sinks in!

Well, here we are 11 weeks out to our cruise and it has hit me. We are going on a cruise!!! I can't believe how quickly things are coming, it really truly is just around the corner.

Once that realization kicked in this past week, I just couldn't stop talking about the cruise/and or Disney! DH has been patient long enough! He finally asked me if I could go 24 hours without talking about Disney or our trip! What is the problem, I am thinking. Why can't he be as happy and excited as me? He always has a great time when we go, why can't he just give in already? ARGH!!!!

Soooo.....I thought I would humour him and go for 24 hours. WELL.........I did one better, I went a whole 49 hours and 23 minutes without mentioning anything. I finally couldn't take it anymore, I was bursting at the seams! As soon as I started talking about it, he just looked at me. Then I reminded him about what he had said and then told him how long I had gone.... You think he was laughing? NOT!!!!

Imagine how excited I am at 11 weeks out....hmmmm....not sure how this is going to work!

This week I finally booked out Hotel room for the night before the cruise at The Radisson at the Port. We have stayed there before and really like the resort. The day before the cruise we are going to Kennedy Space Center, but I would imagine that while we are there we are going to be thinking about laying by the pool at The Radisson.

We are arriving in Orlando on Wednesday and spending two days with our friends in Titusville, then heading to the Space Center and The Radisson and then the cruise. DH is hoping for some down time.....hmmmm...not sure where we are going to find much of that. I think he is going to have to wait til we get back to WDW for any of that, and even then I am really going to have to work at that part of the schedule

I also purchased La Nouba tickets this week for when we are back at WDW. I can't believe how quickly the tickets came, I ordered them on Sunday night and received them on Tuesday! That is the fastest turn around I have ever seen for Disney! Just amazing! I do need to book a couple of diners for us back at WDW, California Grill and The Brown Derby. The rest we are going to wing it. We figure that by the time we eat all the food on the cruise we aren't going to want for much in the way of food by the time we hit WDW.


Tomorrow is the BIG day....at 12:01 we can book our excursions! This is one day that always seemed so far away and now here it is....staring me right in the face! Not sure how I am going to stay awake, actually, I will probably go to bed and set our alarm. This week I also spoke with a good friend of mine (who is a TA) and she said that I would be crazy not to do Brunch at Palo. I explained that we aren't really buffet people, just not our thing. She then went on to explain that even though we didn't really care for buffets, it would be one of the highlights of our trip. So I guess we are going to try to book Brunch for Tuesday and dinner at Palo for Thursday. Guess we will see how it works out tomorrow night.

Soooo, here is our final plan of what we are going to try to book:

Cozumel- Mexican Cooking Class
Grand Cayman- Aquaboat and Snorkel Tour
Castaway Cay- Parasailing , just for one (me )

Palo- brunch - Tuesday
dinner- Thursday

Oops, I guess I haven't mentioned the Parasailing. This is something I have always wanted to do but have never had a real opportunity to do it. There is no possible way that DH is going ever going to do it, so doing it at Castaway Cay would be perfect for me. I would just love to be able to do it, I am going to try to book it for the morning, by the afternoon I may have had too many cocktails to be able to do it.

Going totally crazy if there isn’t one already in the works for the future, I can be a little tough to live with and some days downright miserable. If I do have something planned, I am already upset that I don’t have another planned….really really really sick I know!

Being a TOTAL planner and control freak when it comes to our vacations is not a good thing all of the time, yet again, DH puts up with me!:

Just read this and it cracks me up!!! DH is wondering if I have a lost twin out there.....I am a vacation control freak! The neighbors make fun of me!

I haven't written in here in what seems like ages. It isn't because I haven't been thinking or working on our trip, it is just life. Spending time on our cruise thread seems to be just about all I have been able to do.

So..........I need to do yet another catch up.

We are down to leaving in 12 days and I am totally overwhelmed! It seems as if the things that I have had in my head all this time are totally gone Where they went I will never know. Silly things like remembering how I can some alcohol on board, and do I need a clock for our room etc. Have I read a million threads regarding all of my questions...yup!

We are doing a Fish Extender Exchange on our cruise thread. We are taking part in this...I will post a pic of our Fish Extender tomorrow. Because of the lack of time I ended up ordering our FE from a lady on Ebay. She did an amazing job!!!

I think that I wrote about the bag dilema earlier, I finally took a pic of the bag that I found. We will be using it for our excursions and the beach etc. I am also going to use it as a carryon for the plane.

Yes it's PINK!!! DH doesn't seem to mind!

Check out the pockets, lots of little pockets etc. in the sides, just love it!

I have been shopping for gifts for the FE, and have spent quite a bit of time making something for each FE. I would post a pic but that may spoil the surprise! I will have to do it after the cruise!

The suitcases are pulled out and we have been throwing things into them. I think that I have most of our clothes pulled out and I am going to spend most of the weekend trying to iron and pack. It would make me very happy to have that done by the end of the weekend. Our paperwork would be another great feit finished if I can have that organized by the end of the weekend.

Last week I was just looking at the DCL website, pricing out our excursions and don't I notice that we have a different room number... Jump over to another screen and pull up a deck plan, YES, we have been upgraded! I was sitting in my chair trying to catch my breath! Both DH and I are very concerned about getting sick on the cruise....so we booked Cat 9, deck 2,mid ship because the research I had done said that that was a good place to be. Well, our upgrade put us to a Cat 7, deck 6, so now we have a verandah! But we are at the back of the boat Yes, I should have been happy, but I was a little freaked out, it took me a couple of days to get excited over it. Now............I am VERY happy that we have been upgraded! Woohoo!

Give me the anticipation anyday! HA! Maybe we are just excited enough for everyone and they don't feel the need to add to it!

Hi! I am so glad you came out of your lurking!!! I can see that lots of people read this, but not many stop to say hi.

Isn't it crazy that people have to look at us like we are crazy because we are so excited? They have no idea how much they are missing, and even if they don't want to take part, they don't have to look down on us for being excited.

I think that DH is finally starting to have a little excitement starting to show through! Totally amazing!

Hi!

I have been reading your report and want to tell you that I am so glad to see that there are others out there that are as obsessed with Disney as we are!

Luckily for me both my DH and I are Disney freaks! People just dont' understand who don't have the bug and I love finding people who do! The girls in my office think I'm nuts and my family just smiles and listens when I talk to them about Disney.

Have a great time on your trip and I can't wait to read more! And Congrats on the upgrade.

Oh, yeah, you will love parasailing!!!!!!!!!!!!
